Since I worked at Meijers in college and have shopped at one Meijers or another for my whole life, I know where everything is here, which counts for a lot. Also, I think it's a good middle ground between low prices + low quality (Walmart) and ridiculous yuppie products and prices (Plum, Whole Foods). This Meijers needs to get its act together in two areas of importance to me though. THE DELI: What the heck happened, people? I love this Meijer! I know that generally all stores are the same but for some reason, I really enjoyed shopping here. The produce is always plentiful and fresh. They always seem to have everything that is on sale... very infrequently are there items out of stock. This Meijer is a pretty reliable one. There is plenty of fresh produce, a lot of weekly specials that keep costs down, decent parking, and a courteous staff who has helped me on many occasions when I've tried to find something and gotten lost. It's generally a clean store although there are times that I've been here and items have been scattered on the floor. I've noticed this more in the clothing area but I also have seen it in the grocery and produce section. I do think that the selection here is outstanding (but also, that is true of Meijers in general, all stores). If you need health items or first aid items or medicines, this location has an excellent selection. If you want higher end, international groceries there is a good selection here. My only complaint is that it gets really busy here at times in the evenings, but there seem to have enough checkout lanes to get people in and out. read more

Meijers Saline. Why in this time of pandemic Covid-19 you will have your greeter inside the store with cleaning solution and paper towels wiping the carts after the customer has to go and get it and touch it? Instead try to have your greeter by the shopping carts wiping them before your customers come in contact with them, not only you will contribute to the spread of the virus but your courtesy and care for your customers will be appreciate it . Kroger greets you with a wipe sanitize cart every visit, why can you? When I ask the supervisor at the entrance if the carts out the entrance were clean he shrink his shoulder and reply "I don't know" he got very rude didn't even care about what I was asking or the importance of a virus that is so deadly. To top it all they are price gauging the paper goods and other essential items and keeping some items in the back only by request you will get them, shame on them!!!Expend you're money else where, this is the times when we all have to pull together and help each other. read more

While my preferred grocery store is the west side gem, Arbor Farms, this west side Meijer is excellent. Clean, well stocked with excellent staff, it's a great place to shop locally (Meijer is a MI-based business) and find whatever you need. The pharmacy is efficiently run, customer service moves quickly even when the line is long, the deli is also efficient under pressure (and always willing to give you the cheese they are slicing for you). They have an impressive beer selection, good-sized gluten-/allergen- free department and a huge fresh produce section. We're hosting a boy exchange student this year so with mperks and already fair prices, Meijer has helped us keep our grocery budget reasonable. read more

Meijer feels like a warehouse. The employees are often rude, never friendly. In the store they are scarce.

Great selection. Checking out is terrible. I just stood in line for 45 minutes while a cashier named Joanna went as slow as I've ever seen a human check anyone out at a register. She stopped twice to refill her drawer, and then again to switch out with a new person who was equally as slow. She also asked me 5 times - not exaggerating - if I found what I needed. Please find faster and more capable register attendees or we will be shopping elsewhere. read more

I used to be a loyal Meijer customer. I worked there decades ago as a teenager and have shopped there ever since. But it has deteriorated drastically from what it once was. Poor maintenance, stock outs and long waits to check out have become routine. But the last straw for me was their new checkout system. In it you scan your items with your phone and scan a bar code on the register to ring up your order. Then you have to wait for a clerk to come and scan every one of your items. That's right, it makes you check out twice! Unbelievable! That's it for me. From now on, I'm shopping at Kroger, which by the way has self checkout registers that recognize Meijer bags, which the Meijer registers never do. read more

This s the Meijer I go to for most of my grocery shopping. It's the newest of the three Ann Arbor area Meijer's. It has the usual set up and I like the produce and meat departments. It's a pretty nice place to shop all in all. I think I save the most money there too. read more

I would not normally write a review of a supermarket, but I had to do it for this one. Best selection I've found at a Meijers yet. Wide aisles, very open floor plan, comfortable shopping environment if you are not a fan of crowded and cramped stores. It does have it's flaws. The prices of everything I looked at were higher than I've seen in other similar stores. The further to the rear of the grocery section I walked, the stronger a nasty odor became. It smelled like a sulfur plant; reminiscent of Dundee's infamous aroma. It was enough to detract from the shopping experience. This was my first visit to this store, so I don't know if the smell is always there. The cashiers were astonishing. Some were working fast as hell and still taking forever, while others were slow, sluggish, chatty with other cashiers, and with no sense of urgency when they have a huge line. We were at the latter. A long line of full shopping carts behind us and our cashier had to stop scanning or bagging whenever she was talking to us, which was the entire time we were standing there. I couldn't believe the work ethic of these cashiers. She. Would. Not. Stop. Talking. Our baby was crying, she asked "Tired or hungry?" My wife said "Hungry." That was all we ever said to her the entire time. She went on for what felt like an hour talking about her mom and her sisters. Keeping in mind that she was unable to do her job and talk at the same time, and that she knew our baby was hungry and crying the entire time, it took much restraint to remain polite towards her. I assume Meijers managers make next to nothing per hour if they can let that level of productivity slide. I looked up and down at all the lanes and saw what looked like the exact same situation happening to every other shopper. While driving home we discussed this ridiculous experience, and found that we had a mutual feeling that the theme throughout this store, not just the checkouts, is "Lazy & Careless." The outer facade of the building is very cool; it looks like a small historic downtown district by pure design. That earned one star for being so unique, and the second star was earned by the great selection available. read more

I have always had great experiences with this specific Meijer. It is HUGE! It has pretty much everything you'd ever need or want. Everyone working here is nice and polite. The deli never has a very long line and the produce section is expansive. I love their beer section, too. They have lots of very unique beer from all over the world for single purchase. Annette in the Bakery is phenomenal and went above and beyond for a "hunting" theme birthday cake for a friends birthday. Not only did she complete it on very short notice, she was creative, a great communicator, and best of all, the cake was delicious. I was expecting regular dry akery cake, with that too sugary frosting. But she delivered a full sheet cake, chocolate on chocolate that garnered so many complements! Not sure of the name of the woman who makes the pre-made salads in the produce department, but they are also stellar. The greek salad is by far the best salad I have found anywhere in town. I purchase my gas at this store for all 4 family vehicles, they have a longtime employee named Madan who solves ALL problems quickly. The employee turnover rate and constant training of new employees makes checkout slow at times but Madan solves all problems quickly and positively. As other people stated, this is not a good store to visit. The lines are long, their products are mainly out of stock, & the staff isn't very helpful. But yet, another chain grocery store. I have had negative experiences every time I've gone to this Meijer. Extremely Long lines, shelves rarely stocked, terrible customer service. I have 2 kids and asked one of the outside workers to help me load my grocers in my car. He was so rude and walked away when I couldn't find my car right away. This is the closest grocery store to my home so I stop there often. I like the wide isles and the wide variety of items that they carry. I wish they would carry Miller brand chicken, which I have to make a special trip to Bush's to purchace, and also I wish they would stock more Chobani yogurt as no matter when I go, it seems that they are out of or very low on certain flavors. I now have to make a trip to Kroger's to get my Pomegrant and Mango Choboni yogurt. Instead of stocking the regular flavors, they are stocking more of tlhe dessert flavors that I never buy. I have encountered a variety of cashiers and most of them are efficient and friendly. There are two or three who are not so customer friendly or as efficient as the others, but I think that is to be expected. I find that I often have to wait in long lines because not all of the checkout lines are open. I personally do not like self check-out so I usually wait to go through the line where there is a cashier. Don't know why they don't keep more lines open. When I go to Kroger or Bush's I rarely wait in a long line. Their prices are good overall. read more

Let me start by saying I love this Meijer for a few reasons. It is always very clean and well stocked, and I like how the store is organized. Most of the time, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Just today, as I walked into the store, a really nice lady who was greeting at the front door even got my cart for me (felt a little silly since I'm 24 and she was 60ish, but hey, it was a friendly gesture I appreciated). HOWEVER, there is one major flaw with this store and it is the meat counter. Every single time I go to this Meijer (I visit at least once or twice a week and have been coming to this Meijer for over a year), I am forced to stand there for at least five minutes before anyone even realizes I'm at the meat counter waiting to be served. There are plenty of employees stocking meat in the nearby meat aisles who have a clear view of me, and they usually don't notice me for at least 5 minutes, which I find pretty ridiculous. Today, after waiting the usual five minutes, a male employee came over from stocking to help me. Great, I thought, finally I can get on with my shopping! Much to my dismay, this man was one of the rudest customer service employees I've ever encountered. He immediately made me feel guilty for needing his service and pulling him away from stocking just in the tone of his voice and the way he seemed visibly hurried in everything he was doing for me. In an attempt to speed up the process for him, I simply asked for one chicken breast and a pound of ground beef from chuck. Simple, right? Not for him! He jumped down my throat and told me it was ridiculous for me to ask for two things at once, and that he can only do one thing at a time. Fine, I guess, whatever floats your boat man. So I repeat the first part of my order. With much huffing and puffing, he wrapped up my chicken in the most (excuse my language) half-assed fashion I've ever seen. There was literally chicken hanging out of the packaging. Before I was even able to repeat the second part of my order, another gentleman walks up and started to complain about how the employee had mis-priced his meat order, and the employee started helping him before I could even finish my order! I'm not a rude person, and I'm very easy to please, but this is just horrible customer service. I love Meijer for many reasons but I may just start going to Kroger for my meat, their meat counter always has at least 2-3 people behind it at all times, and they are always friendly and certainly able to handle two part orders. read more

This place grows on you. I admit to a general aversion to stores that sell underwear, lettuce and goldfish all under one roof but this place is manageable. For full disclosure I only go here the few times a year we are visiting in AA but the experience has always been good. The staff is friendly, the store is bright and the aisles are wide. It is a nice mid point in the area between Whole Foods and Plum Market prices and that Kroger on Stadium that should be closed by the health department. The beer and wine sections are really good and expansive. The produce section is more of what I would expect from a grocery store. Those sections seem undersized in the Michigan but not in this place. They always seem to have some great specials on some veggie or fruit. They also had lots of nice pie pumpkins at TG and those are getting tough to find. The prices are reasonable to good on the items I am familiar with. The only thing I would call an actual complaint is the drug store items (shampoo, toothpaste and what not) seem like they are in a different zip code from the food. You don't want to make too many trips back and forth between ends of the store if you are pressed for time. Nice way to stretch your legs though. Overall a solid 4 star. read more
