You can learn a lot about a business by how they conduct themselves in the community. While I've never used their plumbing services, I can say with confidence that I never would. As a neighbor, I've witnessed ongoing disrespect and disregard for others. Their work trucks routinely block the sidewalk and bike lane in front of a residential property, creating unsafe conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and individuals with disabilities. Despite being asked multiple times to stop, the behavior continues. The city now has numerous photos of these violations, and I'll be submitting a formal complaint to the state licensing board. This kind of conduct is unacceptable from any business. read more

I had water gushing under my bedroom. Luis came in the afternoon. He diagnosed the leak and isolated it underneath a concrete slab next to my house. He sent Cody over, who did a great job removing the slab and dirt down to the pipe. We didn't need that water line, so he capped it, and the problem was solved that night. The next day, he came back and did the backfill. I would call them again. read more

My garbage disposal was leaking from the top and needed replacement with installation. Got a free quote from Mega Rooter for, wait for it, $1062.00 dollars! After running the guy out of my house with a few choice words, i bought a garbage disposal AND installation package from Lowes for a total of $318.00. There's a big difference between making a profit and ripping people off. BEWARE!! read more

I was in desperate need for my kitchen sink to be repaired ASAP as it would not drain When I asked if I could have service at the end of the day, Luis accommodated my request and assured me that he would be able to fix my issue even though I was on the third floor of a three-story condo. Had a plumbing companies did not even want to touch my place because I'm on the top floor. Luis was prompt, came prepared with drop cloth and supplies and successfully repaired and cleaned out the clogged line. I will not hesitate to call him again when I need a plumber. I recommend him to all who are looking for great service and reasonable prices. Thank you! read more

I had Mega Rooter come to my elderly aunt and uncle's house, thinking the main line was clogged. Come to find out the sewer line collapsed under the house. I explained the house is in reverse mortgage and I don't know how to file for an approval with mortgage company. Next thing they are at the house and said there was an approval. They did the sewer line without seeing approval they left my aunt and uncle without hot water for 2 months. My uncle was in hospice, dying at home when these people came in demanding money. My uncle passed away Sept 17th worrying about the work they did without seeing approval. They didn't finish the work and the company put a lien on their house. This is elder abuse. read more

Not happy with the $169 I had to pay for a simple drain clean, because the tech insisted that he use the vent on the roof of my house, when I knew for a fact, the drain could be cleared from the train in the bathroom. But he wouldn't listen to me, just so he could overcharge me. read more

As of this date, Luis Trujillo, owner, hasn't paid me what he owes me. Be very careful if you hire him. He's a very dishonest person, who posed as Steben Mejia over the phone to prevent me from filing a complaint with the State Contractor's License Board. He promised to pay me what he owed me, but then said he wanted me to withdraw my posts 1st. Of course, I'm not stupid; so I refused. He made several appointments with me to hand-deliver a cashier's check, but never showed up! read more

This company is a must use! I called in about a bathtub back up and told him it wasn't urgent but I would like it addressed and they still said they would send somebody over shortly. Luis called me when he was leaving his last job to let me know when he would be here and from the time I called he was here within three hours. He inquired about what was going on told me what he was going to do and how much it would be. He knew exactly what to do and fixed the issue quickly. He then showed me that it was working properly. Very nice professional, good pricing. I will use them again for any plumbing need! read more

Their diagnosis of the blockage in the sewer line was wrong. The supervisor was saying that the sewer line in my 25 yrs old 4 million dollar home was done wrong. He was ready to rip me off with $4000. I got the sewer line cleaned from another co with free video for only $63. read more

I called them in the morning to set up an appointment to help me with a tough clog in my bathroom sink that's been bugging me for awhile. It finally got to a point to where it would take all day for the water to drain. No amount of Draino would get rid of the cause, and I was unable to get a 25 foot hand snake that I bought through where I needed it to go. I was able to get a technician out to me that afternoon after I got home from work which was great. Martin was really cool and professional, making sure he wore his mask and shoe covers, was able to assess the situation, give me an honest estimate, and get the job done. I'm very happy with the service. Thank you so much! read more

I am a real estate agent who has remodeled over 50 properties in San Diego and have worked with contractors & vendors all over. I was so impressed by how quickly the came out to snake the drain that was clogged by drywall mud from the construction. They were first to answer in less than 1 hour & they snaked it for $76. I know my plumbing prices to the penny & this was a deal for time. The back office confirmed & payment was taken care of on the spot. Both Luis & Jason Calle me to confirm times too which is the best to show that they respected my time. Thank goodness we didn't have to open up the sewer lateral due to the city construction. Whew ! Call them, they totally know what's up & in less than 24 hours, the drain was cleared out. read more

First of all - the team who came out was really great. And it all started the day before Christmas Eve so it was crazy timing. We had the kitchen sink back up early last year, but the people we called then didn't find the actual problem. They just cleaned out part of the pipes... So within a year it happened again and we wanted to try a different company. The Mega Rooter team found the cause of the problem so it won't happen again. Cesar was so helpful and really nice (and patient, answering a billion questions about everything) - he figured out the pipes were falling apart under the ground and had to dig two big holes through the cement and there they were - really destroyed pipes. As others have mentioned, the time frame and hours worked at the house were not well organized, but I don't fault Cesar or the other plumbers who worked with him - setting expectations and a timeline is a management problem. The team who came out and worked on the pipes did a great job with the plumbing and I'm so relieved to have it all taken care of and I don't feel they over charged me considering what I paid 5 years ago to a "big name" company for a bathroom pipe problem where they had to dig just one hole in the ground... Because of Cesar, I will call them again if we have any other plumbing issues. read more

I wish I could write a review on the service off this company. However, I can only write a review of the unprofessionalism and inability of the staff to allocate resources. September 7 2021: I called and explained my issue that a plumber suggested hydrojetting the line if we had trouble in the future. My original plumber said that it would take several days to come out so I contacted Mega Rooter. I was told that someone would be out between 3 and 4 PM that day. I received a text and email confirmation said I'd have a technician out between 3-3:30. 5:30 came, I called and asked if there was a technician still comin. The answer was yes. By 9:00PM I gave up and realized no-one was coming. September 8 2021: My partner calls the same company and they say they have no record of my call. I have an email and a text expressing the opposite. She gives Luis her contact info, her email address and our address... again. This time, she did not receive a courtesy email or text message of the confirmed time. She calls at 1:30 and speaks again with Luis. She asked if anyone was still coming and he said "Yeah, we can have someone out there... What is your address?" This would have our third time giving our information. At that time, she was over it and told Luis that we would look for another company. What she got back was a call shortly after 5 pm from a woman asking if service was still needed. She said she could have someone out between 7-8. She already had an appointment scheduled for Friday and politely declined. Already been stood up twice, we did not believe them. Summary: I saw the great reviews on service. When I called I was greeted by a "Hello!" that's it. No acknowledgment of the company or how can I help you. It was a bad sign. I then spent a day waiting for a plumber with no call about not coming even though I called to ask and make sure they were still coming. My partner tried the next day with similar results. We know what we want, but apparently that isn't what they want to serve. I highly recommend against this company. their customer service is rude, and unfaithful read more

To get to the point, if you want to pay someone $800 to clear a drain and then have to do it yourself hire Mega Rooter . . . the attached pictures are the roots I pulled from the drain later. To show the true character of the company, I used their "contact us" feature in their website and explained the situation hoping they would be willing to refund me a portion of the cost but they never got back to me. BTW, they performed the "work" on 29 June 2022 and used their hydro jet system. read more

We had a serious problem with the plumbing. We decided to try Mega Rooter, so glad we did. They came within a half hour of the call. The experienced young man they sent was Will, he was awesome, polite, professional and thorough. He exceeded our expectations and worked until the job was complete. The price we paid was fair, the other high price plumbers are ridiculously over priced. Thank you Will for your service, you are an awesome young man! read more

I used MegaRoutr to clear a blockage in a bathroom sink. Luis Trujillo showed up on time and was courteous. Satisfied with the outcome.

They charged me $1800 to do a plumbing job that took 2.5 hours and about $30 in materials. I agreed to the price thinking it was a CYA price not knowing what would be involved to correct the plumbing issue. In the end they still charged me the $1800.00. That prices out at $700 an hour. This company is a serious rip off. I will never use them again and I recommend everyone to do the same! I'm a general contractor working all over San Diego and like to support local companies in the area I am working. I will not support any company that are out to rip off there new customers or any customer. read more

The entire Mega Rooter team was fantastic. We had a major backup in our plumbing that started in the kitchen and caused our tub on the other side of the wall to backup with water. Turned out that the pipes were original to the house (60+ years old) and there was so much build up that the opening for water to flow was less than a half-inch in diameter. We ended up replacing all of the bathroom plumbing and during the project the tech noticed moisture behind the wall, which required more work but needed to be done (that part was, thankfully, covered by insurance). All in all a very good experience with Mega Rooter. They were very upfront with what the situation was, were tireless in running down the problems, and moved quickly to help us get the pipes replaced. Will definitely use them again should we ever need to. read more

The night before our sink backed up when we used the insinkerator. We didn't want to leave the problem hanging so we called for a plumber the next day, James came before his est. time of arrival promptly. I explained the problem and he gave me a quote and we were rolling. Except that our sink drain was super clogged that the regular snake was not enough. James informed me that he would need to use a more heavy machinery main line for our drain, and is normally cost $180, but he did not add that to our bill since it was unexpected. Long story short, he did what he had to do to get the job done, quickly and timely and started to clean up what he could. He gave me some next step advice to pass onto my landlord and I appreciated how he explained the issue in an understandable way. If you have a sudden issue that needs a fix from an expert, James from Mega Rooter is a great choice with his 31 years of exp and wisdom in the industry.
