I visited Mega Cycle to request the repair of the rear tire of my bicycle. I've been coming here for some years now and bought a couple o bikes. I think the shop is always clean always great service. Demetri is awesome and I trust his judgment on my repair. I was just very disappointed to find out that one of technicians discarded all of the parts from my bike with out my consent, not everything was damaged and could of been used for decoration if I feel like it. After all I paid for that very expensive wheel. Demetri asked me if I wanted my parts, and wheel I said yes, but when he asked around it turned out it was discarded as trash and that was that. Right now I have mixed feelings about the shop for that reason this has always been my go to shop. And theses are not cheap bicycles or components to just trash like that. read more

I brought my front wheel in for service (two broken spokes after an object in wheel then OTB incident). The crew at the shop were very friendly and got the wheel fixed up in short order. The repair price was extremely reasonable, in fact it was about half of their initial estimate. For comparison, I got stranded with a flat a few months ago around Hillsboro inlet, and the bike-shop on that corner charged me the same amount for sealant and air as I paid for the wheel repair at Mega Cycle. read more

A month later- had the same problem went back some dude with Frank on his shirt said they don't do it. I informed him I was there a month ago and a kid fixed it in about 20 minutes. I went in for a warranty issue with Shimano, an Argentinian dude "helped" me and he was an a$$. Started as saying he couldn't do the warranty claim to coming along and saying he would do it with conditions. I went to Alex's bike shop (a 6 minute drive ) and they did the claim quicker than it took to drive there ! read more

I want to start out by saying that I try to support the LBS first before heading to the land of low cost, but no service on the internet. I've purchased many high end carbon fiber road and mountain bikes over the years from shops in Broward (please don't tell my wife what they really cost - haha) and will usually make my decision based on price and customer support. This past Christmas I purchased a Cannondale bike for my wife from Megacycles. The initial transaction was very easy and I was satisfied with the price. After riding the bike a few times we noticed there was a squeaking coming from one of the pedals. Simon from the shop went above and beyond what would be expected and solved the problem My wife is back on the bike and happy, which makes me happy. read more

My first purchase from this business was a Stumpjumper St 29" 2019, 5 months ago and I could not have been happier with my current set up. Although originally I was looking at the Tallboy 29" after discussing the different benefits of each bike with the staff along with riding styles I decided to go with my current shorter wheelbase model. Jeremy and Frank are my go to guys, but overall the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their merchandise and have been very helpful with maintenance questions, parts compatibility and just overall tips you'd expect from people in the game this long. Been into this shop several times within the last few months and yesterday was probably my last. Went with a friend who was interested in purchasing an entry level carbon road bike. The associate practically insulted him when he stated he'd started off with an aluminum bike just to test out the sport. The guy went as far as saying that if he has to ride an aluminum he wont ride at all...that its stupid to invest in one and that they rather not even sell them. When asked his thoughts on cervelo he dogged them which I thought was pretty crummy. I'd always heard great things about the brand and just because the shop doesn't carry it doesn't mean you cant give a fair assessment. The associate of course also tried upselling. The budget was 2500 to 3k and he kept saying how the more expensive model would be much better. All in all it was not a pleasant experience. My friend left feeling disappointed and put down...the service was not what we expected and neither were the subtle insults. read more

Not as customer friendly as before. Megacycle used to be my go to bike shop before they relocated to this new store front a couple years ago. Since then the customer service has gone down hill. The staff just does not have that friendly demeanor that was present in the old location. I have visited several times in the past few months to check out the new bikes. In all those trips I can sadly say I walked in, spent fifteen to thirty minutes looking at bikes and walked out without once being spoken to. Not a "hello , how you doing" or a " is there any questions I can answer" or even "you looking for a bike". The two or three employees in the store each time seemed too busy with themselves to acknowledge me. This was very disappointing and has left me with doubts about buying a bike here. This is too bad also, because they do have a good selection of upper end bikes. I will continue to stop in every couple months to check out the bikes. Hopefully things change before I'm ready to purchase my next bike. As for now I have to say that I use another shop for all my biking needs and maintenance. It's quite a bit farther away from home but there is a lot to be said for customer service. Until things change. Cheers read more

I knew the bicycle I wanted, I called and first spoke w/ Simon and then Jeremy. They both knew the bike I wanted and Jeremy had it in stock, coincidentally all built and ready to test ride. I drove there and as soon as I walked in Jeremy knew I was the person that called. He got the bike off the rack, I test rode it and was ready to purchase it. Jeremy felt I needed the seat adjusted, so he had the tech adjust my seat. I had forgotten it didn't come w/a kickstand, but Jeremy made me aware, so I of course bought a kickstand and the tech installed it. Jeremy is an absolute sweetheart and knows his stuff. Today My family and I went to Mega Cycle to browse for some bikes. The plan was to start here and hit a few other shops in Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Miami to see what we liked best but that's not what happened. We walked in this store and was immediately greeted by Rafael, he was extremely friendly, patient, and actually listened to my needs and wants. I have yet to have this happen in any other bike store I have tried to buy a bike in since just before Covid hit. Besides Rafael, I also worked with too young men Christian and JeanCarlo. They were just as great. The entire staff worked with us for about an hour and a half and properly fit us for bikes and never tried pressure us into anything. They didn't try to oversell us either. They suggested we test ride a few of the bikes too which was great. We picked out two bikes but my son was unsure about the color.... So we decided to go get lunch then come back. They actually offered to hold the bikes for us! They were not having a hard time selling bikes here either. While we were there two people came in and bought similar bikes that we were looking at so they could've easily sold these ones too I'm sure. We got lunch and hurried back, they got the bikes tuned up and ready for us and helped us get them loaded in our car. I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service and help,I received here. We had no need to,go anywhere else. This was one $2,400 purchase that I have zero regrets with. Thank you to this staff! We are customers now for ever! read more

I spoke with an associate about a particular bicycle, and came to make a deal! I made the drive out to the location within 3 hours of agreement only to find that the history of this used bicycle had somehow changed. I was originally told it was a friend of the associates that he was helping to part ways with, when I got there I was told it was taken in on trade by a customer. Strange? Yes. Transparent? No. When getting ready to exchange payment for the agreed upon outdoor price, the associate tells me it will now be $226 more than we had actually agreed upon! I wasted 1.5 hours in drive time just to be lied to, and out of principal they didn't receive a dime from me nor will they ever again in the future. Plenty of other great options within 5 miles. Totally bummed with Mega cycle. read more

This shop carries many top tier bikes brands, upon which I was looking at purchasing either a Specialized or my personal favorite, Cannondale. I visited their shop with two buddies of mine and we probably walked around Megacycle for about 10-15 minutes before finally asking one of their employees about some of their bikes. I'm really high on customer service, and honestly this placed failed to deliver anything close to just that. The young guy that I was working with paid more attention to his phone than anything else. When it came to asking questions and comparing the different tiers/pricing of bikes, the guy "helping" us was more concerned about playing with his phone and only gave flat/lazy answers. If someone is looking to purchase a product from you, shouldn't you be more enthused towards at least assisting them? Bear in mind, my buddies and I are experienced riders and had a general idea of what to look for in buying a new bike; it was just a matter of meeting professional services/salesmanship from a shop to purchase from. The guy was still on his phone, while I re-racked one of the bikes. Not long after, we left him to his "work", scoped out a few more bikes on our own, and left the shop with the intent of not coming back. read more

I got a bike on Megacycle 3 months ago and it was my first bike in 30 or something years. I was very concern about what model would be good for me, but they let me try every bike I liked behind the shop. They gave lots of tips about what to buy, what size and the considerations I have about it. I'm super "chubby" and since I got my Specialized I already lost 14 pounds. My bike needed a minor repair and MegaCycle was there to help. The bike sat at another near-by bicycle shop for a week without any communication. When picking up the bike, they didn't seem bothered that they were not able to help. Went down the road to MegaCycle and received excellent service and was in and out with a repaired bike in under 15 minutes. Been going to MegaCycle since 1994. The owner Cy is very nice guy and he has knowledgeable and helpful staff ready to get you riding. They have a big selection of cruisers, mountain bikes and road bikes. Plenty of accessories too. Ive purchased a Specialized Epic Comp Carbon mountain bike, a couple of Electra cruisers and a Specialized Venge S-Works. I continue to take my bikes for tune-ups and repairs to the shop...the tune-up is about $60 but totally worth it l- my bikes always come out looking brand new after the tune up. read more

To make it plain and simple, they are honestly no help whatsoever. I purchased a bike from there and they are all about upselling instead of working with you to stick to a frame an build it. Another reason I rate it one star because they have not repaired my bicycle correctly twice. I have made one too many far trips for this place to half a** my bike. The shop looks great and has a great selection of bikes but that is about it. Their customer service is a disgrace to the biking community and what is wrong with some bike shops these days. They are a bunch of stuck up $%#$%!!! From the moment you walk in they look at you up and down like you are not good enough and not worth of their attention. Who do they think they are?? I am a very experienced biker and racer and don't need their help, i am sure I know a lot more about bikes than they do, but a good friendly atmosphere is what you expect from your shop. I no longer live in FL and thankfully I have lots of amazing shops around me that offer that kind of environment that makes you proud to be part of the cycling community. I wish I had read these reviews before ever walking into this shop. Someone else hit it on the head when they said that this shop is very elitist and treat novice riders with disdain. I've been riding for 3 years, first on a hybrid and now a road bike, and have completed a century ride, but am certainly no pro athlete. They do ignore you if you aren't an elite rider - aren't even friendly and act like you are wasting their time. But even worse, they have done a terrible rush job of fixing my bike twice now. This week, my chain came off the gears and I couldn't fix it. It thought I would give these guys a chance because it should be a simple fix, but they didn't even take it off my bike rack! Just supposedly put the chain back into place with his hand and sent me off! Well, when I got back home, it still was not ridable! I will never go back to this shop. read more

However, if you are someone who is a novice to the sport, or looking for advice on how to improve your technique or riding experience, then go elsewhere. The staff, although seemingly knowledgeable, have an elitist attitude and show significant disdain for novice athletes. The only reason for the second star is the extensive selection of bikes. Knowledgeable and friendly staff veryy willing to help you with questions or choosing a bike or accessories. Came here looking for a specific bike and ended up fining something I loved even more. Even left my fixie goldie loxx for a tune up! They work pretty fast too. Safe to say I'll be a return customer for as long as I ride. If you're into bike swing by you won't regret it!
