I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience with Dr. Roman's office was extremely…read moredisappointing and needs to be shared. At my first visit, things went well. Dr. Roman even referred me for a mammogram, which I scheduled for August 19th. I was upfront about my history of seeing multiple providers over the past year while trying to find a consistent primary care provider. I also explained that I had accidentally left my medications in a hotel room -- a human mistake that I owned up to and resolved. There was no indication that this would be an issue moving forward. Fast forward to my follow-up: I checked in, waited to be seen, and then, without warning, was told I was being dismissed as a patient because of my provider history. The way this was handled was unprofessional and honestly shocking. A woman, who I assume was the office manager (she never introduced herself), walked in and immediately spoke to me in a judgmental tone without asking questions or trying to understand my situation. Dr. Roman never came to speak to me, and to make matters worse, I could hear staff discussing me in the hallway -- which was not only embarrassing, but raises serious concerns about patient confidentiality. Now I'm left scrambling to find another doctor. Because I wasn't offered not offered a 30 day refill until I was able to schedule the psych appointment and/or find another provider, and will be out of my medication by the weekend. If this office had concerns, transparency and communication would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Patients deserve respect, professionalism, and the opportunity to be heard -- none of which I received.

The nurses and office manager are extremely rude. I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Roman…read moreabout the Thyroid Condition tat he diagnosed . I was told to see the NP because he went on Vacation. All she discussed was the last colonoscopy had. So I made another appoint appointment for a week later. I waited 3 hours, was taken to the room, blood pressure taken.....Finally, after a long wait the nurse told me Dr. Roman had gone home. The arrogant office manager then told me to leave. She said I was there to get refills. And I was very ill with Thyroid and possible diabetes and Depression. My wife had died 2 weeks before. Then I received a letter from the Office Manager, not Piedmont or the Doctor, that I had been dismissed from the practice. An Absolute Blessing. The place is like a Lifetime Movie. I doubt I have Thyroid now. In the bathroom the Urine Shelf if jammed Full. I have never had an interpretation of the last bloodwork. Also, I was charged for the visit with no Doctor. I was so Stressed and Depressed when I left .....unreal Lifetime Movie Do not risk your life there. The staff diagnoses......

After a reasonable wait time, I was called back into the exam room area, where my BP and pulse was taken by the nurse. She then handed me a paper robe and stated that I needed to undress down to my panties. I was instructed to take off my blouse, bra, pants and shoes. I asked her why I was being instructed to undress, and I her response was, "this is just the way he does his exams". I asked exactly what the exam detailed and why he couldn't perform it with my clothes on. The nurse stated, "he needs to be able to listen to your heart". Anyone with a brain knows that a heart can be listened to through a very thin blouse! It is of note, that I was not advised prior to my appointment that I would be expected to disrobe, down to only my panties. If I had been, I would have never gone in the first place. I already have a gynecologist, and he is the only man, besides my husband, that sees me without my clothes on! I was there for a potential pituitary tumor! No amount of undressing can diagnose a pituitary tumor! Diagnosis of a pituitary tumor starts basically with an MRI and labs. Luckily, my husband was with me, and witnessed the entire thing. After telling the nurse that I felt uncomfortable stripping down to nothing, she proceeded to exit the exam room to advise Jack H Blalock, Jr., that I felt uncomfortable with fully undressing. The nurse returned after about 30 seconds and told me that Jack H Blalock, Jr., said "if she doesn't undress, she cannot be a patient here". My husband and I left the office. I am contemplating sending Jack H Blalock, Jr., a bill for my time, my husbands time, gas and a day wasted! We drove from Manchester, GA., to see Jack H Blalock Jr. My husband took a whole day off work to come with me. I would not recommend anyone go see this man! My husband and I both agree that it was a very creepy demand that Jack H Blalock, Jr., made in reference to me having to disrobe or suffer the consequences and leave without being seen. Jack H Blalock, Jr., showed me no compassion nor pleasantry during my time in his office. I wish I could give negative stars.
