Despite its cuteness however, it doesn't look like it's been visited by many based on the number of photos uploaded as of April 18, 2026. It might be its location as it's tucked in a quieter area from the center of Taos (it's still very much walkable from it though.) Well, I shall (thus) contribute to it. Great selection of whites and reds. Unfortunately however, none of the reds I got to sample didn't strikingly impress me and yet the Rioja was the best one out of the 7 displayed upfront. I hence went with a glass of it. Despite the beautiful weather on a Saturday at around 5:25pm, nobody was there. The live band for the night had just gotten to it where they were doing a little rehearsal. There was a good hour to the start of the show. The food menu also had a good selection of small bites from charcuterie board to hummus plate to meatballs to dumplings to flatbread etc. And the prices of them were mostly $10 to $15 (except the boards.) I had stopped at a different wine bar earlier where I had gotten me a few food for me to eat at the hotel so I didn't get anything at this place. Maybe next time. It's a great place for girls' night out, a date night or a solo dining as well. As I have mentioned already, live music every night. You can sit close to the band or a bit away from it near the entrance. Wherever you sit you'll be surrounded by the great ambiance. I enjoyed it tremendously.

I pondered if a 2-star rating would be appropriate but he was a lot nicer when I was leaving (he said a firm thanks) and extra stat was added to the whole rating. During my visit in Taos, I had a chance to go to a few different wine places and none of them did "flights". Whereas the other place was generous enough to let me taste more than a handful of their reds this place only gave me one of them (which I didn't care for.) I didn't want to be an entitled customer so I (out of politeness) refrained from asking me for a few more samples. I hence opted out on ordering a full glass for something I might not enjoy as all I could get were the descriptions of several other reds he said. I sure was hungry though so I ordered the mixed green salad and the rotating dessert (some sponge spice cake with date in it.) Both of them (when I ate them later in my hotel room) were okay to decent but I wasn't nowhere near "impressed". Will I go back here when I am in town again? Maybe but I can simply go to the other one I liked more or some vineyards that are 20-30 minutes from the center of Taos. It appears that some other people experienced the same questionable customer service experience (based on their reviews) when I felt "unwelcome" or even "being dismissed" I know that it wasn't personal. Yup, 3-star is good enough for this place for now.

Not long after that, several more parties arrived, and the restaurant quickly filled up with what appeared to be a dinner rush. We understand that things can get busy, and we were patient as we waited for our food. However, it ultimately took an hour and a half for our meal to arrive. What stood out the most, though, was the behavior of the male host as new customers continued to walk in. My family and I were genuinely surprised by how unwelcoming he was. He never smiled, showed very little warmth, and seemed almost irritated by the arrival of additional customers. He repeatedly told people they would have to wait an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes, and the way he delivered the message made it feel as though he was trying to discourage them from staying rather than welcoming their business. We understand that long wait times are sometimes unavoidable during a busy dinner rush, but there is a difference between communicating a wait time and making customers feel like an inconvenience. A friendly attitude and a little courtesy go a long way, especially for someone who is the first point of contact for the restaurant. When our food finally arrived, it was good, but honestly, it wasn't good enough to make up for the hour-and-a-half wait and the unwelcoming experience at the door. Unfortunately, the host's attitude left a lasting impression and took away from what could have been an enjoyable family dinner.

What we ordered: Eggs Benedict: it was absolutely beautiful when it came out, but upon breaking open the poached egg, it was about 10-15 seconds under done. I had runny whites, which shouldn't happen. Also, the hollandaise sauce did not have that lemon flavor (you need a bit more punch). Finally, the sauce to me was broken as I could see and taste the eggs curdled. While I loved the fresh spinach and tomatoes as it gave it a good acidic taste, I was just a bit disappointed in the execution. The potatoes were good. They were fried to perfection but it needed a bit more zest or seasoning. Breakfast Buffet: typical buffet of sausage, eggs, bacon, pastries etc. nothing exciting or anything to be negative about. Adorable (well, everything is adorable in Taos; it's the southwestern charm for sure!) but it's more than what its appearance says it all. You have to try their products and see for yourself. What I got me were a few bon bons and a chocolate torte (the whiskey kind). -Miso Caramel: is shaped like a mushroom. Even if you might not be a fan of miso based (everything), you should try these bon bons anyway as they don't taste like miso at all. I was quite shocked with this myself (well, I like miso soup; miso taste doesn't bother me at all. Even so, Miso chocolate candy was something I didn't know what to expect out of. That is why I am saying that I was surprised by it.) -New Mexico , Spicy: was also surprising. The kick in these tiny pieces was quite mighty and yet it was tolerable. -Whisky Torte: All sorts of organic ingredients are used to make these delightful tortes. Tortes tend to be a lot heavier than traditional cakes as their texture is that of fudge. And yet, that shouldn't be a reason for you to steer clear from it as this chocolatier perfected the torte in a way that it will not be too rich or heavy for your taste or stomach. At least that is what I thought when I tasted it. Another must-try item on their menu offerings. For its interior, it's mostly and simply grey on walls but this emits the "chicness" that doesn't overshadow the theme of its business. You should also pay attention to the ceilings and the floors. A careful attention to entertain the guests' eyes is seen throughout. Service was good. I first went here late in the afternoon (close to its closing time). I quickly glanced at each section of the store inside. The kind gentleman upfront wanted to assist me but after asking him if it was open tomorrow (it would be Sunday), he said yes to which I gave him my promise that I would be back tomorrow. The same man assisted me when I was back the very next day to make a purchase. Not sure if he remembered me or not. It's not chocolate bon bons or tortes you can enjoy at this store. The café offers tasting trios, mocha, chocolate mouse, ice cream, affogato, hot chocolate, and espresso and so on. This is a haven for chocolate fanatics.

If you're looking for a truly unforgettable dining experience in Taos, Medley is a gem that's well worth the short drive outside of the city limits. Nestled in the scenic beauty of northern New Mexico, this restaurant offers the perfect blend of rustic charm, elegance, and romance. One of the best features of Medley is their outstanding drinks menu. From hand-crafted cocktails to an impressive selection of wines, you won't be disappointed. If you're a wine lover, you'll be especially delighted to know that you can stroll next door and pick out your own bottle from their adjoining wine shop, giving you a personal touch to your dining experience. But it's the food that truly shines here. The menu is packed with fresh, flavorful dishes that will leave you talking about the meal long after you've left. As for the best restaurants in Taos? Medley certainly ranks at the top, alongside Lambert's and The Love Apple, two other local favorites known for their ambiance and exceptional cuisine. But if you're seeking an experience that offers both romance and a bit of adventure just outside the hustle and bustle, Medley is a standout. In short, Medley is a dining destination you won't want to miss. From the incredible food and drink to the charming atmosphere, it's worth every mile of the drive. read more

I, as so many others here have, went to Medley for dinner recently also. My wife and I were on a double date with friends from Angel Fire for Valentine's day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing, much better than we anticipated in a place like Taos, and the service was spot on. I had a ribeye while my wife had the special clam chowder and a greens salad. Our friends had the seabass and steamed mussels. Those were some of the best mussels any of us have ever had. The tomatoes were very salty - probably the crunchy onions they added for texture. The lobster Thai Curry was delicious and an ample portion, although I could barely taste the lobster. The Sea Bass was a 3-4 oz piece of fish and cooked well; however, there was about a tablespoonful of potatoes, one asparagus spear, and one green bean with an ounce or two of peas. It tasted great but the sides were more of a garnish than a portion of a meal. I asked for a side of potatoes and was informed that "the chef doesn't serve sides because he makes exactly the amount he needs for each entree". When we complained about the size of the portions of the sides, we were told it was a "completely curated creation". Never have I been somewhere where I asked to order more food and was told no! After ordering at the counter and taking a seat inside, we heard the table next to us complaining about how awful the coffee was. That should've been our first warning to run, but unfortunately we had already paid. Thank goodness we had already gotten coffee elsewhere. So, we sat and waited for our food. As we sat and the food started being cooked, I started getting a headache. My husband pointed out that the place was filling with that grease smoke that you get when you cook on a dirty grill and don't vent well enough. We moved to an outside table and felt a huge difference in the fresh air; headache immediately gone. (For the sake of the other patrons health, we left the front door open to vent the place out.) We waited a really long time for our food, which I didn't expect from a counter-ordering breakfast spot with super basic orders that we could've made waayyy better at home. When the food finally came, the server walked up, plopped our plates down and said, "idk who had what," instead of just asking us...I had ordered a classic breakfast platter with Christmas chile and sourdough toast and jam. My husband had ordered a bfast platter with green chile. He had to go in to ask for his green chile and my jam, which they forgot. The food was just on this side of edible. I ate my scrambled eggs and avocado and toast (dry with just the avocado on it bc no butter offered and the jam turned out to be packets of smuckers), bc I'm pregnant and was starving, but I took one bite of the "hashbrowns" and literally spit it right back out onto the plate. It not only felt like the texture of a raw potato, but you could tell that their grill is in need of a serious cleaning. My husband didn't even eat half of his food. I was also kinda just grossed out how they plopped my little chile plastic cups directly on top of my beans...it felt wrong for those to placed ON TOP of part of the dish. After seeing the servers response to another tables complaints and concerns about the coffee, we got the vibe that this place is just run by a bunch of high schoolers who did not care/know how to remedy any situation that was presented, so we didn't even consider attempting to talk with them about our issues. We had a conversation with another couple who sat outside about how much this place seemed to be struggling with everything, even the most basic of restaurant situations. We decided to just high-tail it away after warning another group who approached not to even go in there.
