Home Vets London came to the rescue when I needed a last minute Animal Health Certificate to…read morerelocate from UK to EU because my regular vet informed me that they weren't going to be able to do it. Nuria was the first person I got in contact with and she was extremely kind, friendly, and always answered my questions in a timely manner throughout the entire process. Dr. Jose was the one to physically come to our house and not only was he also extremely kind, but my dogs absolutely loved him (and they usually are petrified of vets). He got on the floor to play with my dogs and gain their trust before doing any work. Dr. Cesar became like a friend throughout the entire process. I had a different case because my rabies and all my documentation came from the USA originally; however, there was an issue with the paperwork from the original USA vet. Dr. Cesar worked with me even during the weekend to help get this issue resolved with my original vet in order for my dogs to be able to travel. I was such a nervous wreck but Dr. Cesar did everything in his power and thanks to him and his team we are all now in the EU in our new home. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this team. They were amazing from the very first email all the way to the follow up from them to make sure we got to our new home safely. I only wish I had met them when we first arrived in London as I would have loved for them to have been our vet from the very beginning. Thank you so much to the entire Home Vets London team!!

Wednesday I took my 3 year old cat to this vet because she started breathing quickly and wasn't…read moreeating much. The vet looked at her said she was fine. He didn't take her temperature. Friday the cat was still not eating and was looking awful. Took her back. She was given an antibiotic and again we were told she's fine. I asked if she had a fever. He said he didn't want to take her temperature because it would be undignified. Over the weekend her condition worsened, and we went back first thing Monday. I told the vet we had £500 on insurance. He ordered an x-ray, blood work and ultrasound, and nothing was found. Vet said she would recover, gave a shot of steroids and said that would stimulate appetite. Charged us nearly £500. I frankly do not believe that these injections are genuine. After 24 hours on steroids the cat has not responded at all, and this is for a cat who he insists is healthy. 24 hours later and we have had to accept that the cat is definitely dying. I stopped into the vet for a tin of emergency food as we're trying to syringe feed her, and the vet himself was at the counter. I told him the cat is dying. He was so cold, clearly didn't care, told me that she wouldn't, he just seemed to want me to get out of there. He said there's nothing wrong with her. Meanwhile the cat is dying on my bathroom floor, cold to the touch, unable to eat or move, and howling when we try to syringe feed her. We've been with this practice for three years and the vet changed recently, and I do not trust his opinion or skill. I don't even trust that the injections we've been charged for have actually been given, or that any investigation has been done. This is not a healthy cat, and I can't get over the lack of empathy for this animal who is now almost dead, and lack of regard for us who have been with them for so long and have forked out so much money. I advise anyone to find another practice if your animal is sick, because I do not believe these people will do anything to save them except charge you up to your insurance maximum as quickly as possible. EDITED TO ADD: 6 hours after the vet brushed me off my cat was dead. She was howling in pain and we took her to another vet who said that it was cardio myopathy (the Citivet vet had drained fluid from her chest the day before but told us it was "no big deal") or possibly lipidosis from a week with no food (which could have been avoided with a feeding tube if Citivet had bothered to listen to the symptoms five days ago). By this time her temperature was so low it wouldn't even register on the thermometer. When trying to decide what to do the vet called Citivet to see if they could get the cat's records faxed so they could try to figure out why she was dying so young and in such an unexplained way, and if any other treatment route was possible. Citivet didn't bother to fax them. We waited and euthanised an hour later. Do not bring any animal to Citivet. I feel like I failed this cat and she would not have suffered if I had chosen a competent vet. If she was going to die that was one thing, but the suffering was so unnecessary and preventable. Citivet are negligent and charged us for nothing. They also insisted on submitting the insurance paperwork for us despite me paying up front. I find this extremely suspect. The Clerkenwell Animal Hospital where we ultimately took her was caring, lovely, patient and kind, and I'm so glad our cat ended up with good people at the end.

I am beyond disappointed by the way I was treated. I walked in on Monday morning, already…read moredistressed because my cat had been in a car accident, desperately looking for help and guidance. Instead of compassion, I was met with shocking rudeness from the brunette woman at reception. She immediately told me she couldn't help me because I'm not on benefits. Then, rather than offering any support, she began commenting on my age -- I'm 17 -- and said I shouldn't be responsible for a pet and that I was being irresponsible. I came in seeking help for an injured animal, and instead I was judged and spoken down to. What makes this even more upsetting is that when my mom later spoke to the same staff member, she claimed that they help everyone -- not just people on benefits. The complete contradiction and the way I was treated differently is incredibly concerning. No one asking for help with an injured pet should be met with judgment or dismissiveness, especially not a young person trying to do the responsible thing. The lack of empathy and professionalism was honestly heartbreaking during an already stressful situation.

Despite being a charity also struggling to raise funds they then stepped in when no one else would for my cat Sox, they agreed thanks to Celia to fund what was needed and give me time to fund any surgury, this included x rays blood tests pain relief interpretation of xrays potential transport of patient to other branch out of hours visit by nurse for top up medication to name just a few things she needed Sox had a fractured pelvis meaning surgury was an absolute must they where happy to give me time being so kind compassionate and understanding of my situation to try and do this despite how hard they may find getting funds to support all the animals just like my sox! Then a Celia Hammond Supporter and myself had a conversation before I knew it thanks to such amazing people sox has surgury in the next few days to correct her fractured pelvis...!! I will be eternally greatful for the intervention celia Hammond did... Putting the whole of the rest of London in pure shame for their encouraging an animal to suffer without treatment proof of eligibility or even payment plan offer yet celia Hammond in true form showed the rest of London what it means to truelly show an animal care compassion and fight for them the way these other charities claim they do, cannot imagine where we'd be without their support honestly so please where able please do donate because it directly helps cats like my Sox actually have a chance... Thanks to their Lewisham branch for diagnostics and their canning Town branch for the surgury Celia herself for her truelly inspirational continued fight for my sox and all other animals in need... We are forever greatful to you all as an organisation doing your very best for those of us left with no hope Equally they can only do this with donations so please if you are in a position to however large or small please please consider donating

They've looked after our dog Bubu for years, and we'd be lost without them. After moving to Southampton, we tried other vets and realised how rare it is to find people like them. Too many seemed focused on money, not the animal. Dale and Margaret are the opposite. They genuinely care, give honest advice, and never suggest anything unnecessary. Even now, we travel back to London for Bubu's care because no one else comes close. They're the kind of vets every pet owner hopes to find.

So far, so good…read more.. I found this veterinary practice on Yelp based on an older review, and hoped that all the facts still rung true. My luck (and Tillie's!) they certainly did. My pup is getting on in years, and that comes with its own set of challenges. I wanted to have her throughly checked out to make sure nothing was terribly amiss before we left on a long trip. I easily and quickly made an appointment with the very polite receptionist and was booked in for a Friday evening appointment. We arrived rain-soaked to a happy, warm office full of the vet's own pooches. We were greeted warmly, seen quickly and the good doctor gave her a once over and sent me home with instructions to collect a urine sample (I had my husband do that job, thankyouverymuch) and return the following day to have it tested for any irregularities, etc. Dutiful dog dad did just this, walked it back over, paid £20 for the test, and they called us later that day with the results: your dog is old and her kidneys are slow, but she isn't in any pain or distress. Well, all good...best case scenario and we now take many trips outside to use "the loo" to accommodate the kidney-deficient canine. Big plus: the initial exam and registration appointment is free of charge. I had no idea this was true...but what a great way to be introduced to a practice. I'll surely be back. Very friendly folks that won't try to upsell you and leave you bankrupt. Practical solutions for your pets.

I have to leave something here for Emily and her team at Goddard Vet Mile End, past and present…read more We have since left the area and leaving our wonderful vet behind was quite sad for us, and we took for granted the fantastic compassion, knowledge, honesty, and genuine care that they provided us with our three cats and two dogs. It seemed like we were never out of there sometimes as one cat developed what was swiftly diagnosed as pemphigus at just 6 months old, and one of our dogs was presenting with itchy skin; again, swiftly managed, and then diagnosed as an allergy to various dust mites. He was in remission after starting a course of immunotherapy. I cannot sing the Mile End team's praises enough; we had been with them since around 2011 but when Emily arrived it was noticeably different. She is quick to build a rapport, and always took the time to explain things to me and/or my other half and never dumbed it down or avoided answering questions, as unfortunately some vets do. Our pets were always treated with love and care, and expertly handled. Not once did I leave feeling like I had been fobbed off or given bad advice or treatment. The whole team were friendly, always lovely even when they were having a tough day, and always took the time to go the extra mile (end :P) I emailed them the other day as I had a reminder for one of our dogs' kennel cough vaccine, and sadly our other dog has since passed away so I wanted to let them know so we wouldn't get any reminders for our beloved pup. They sent a very touching and kind email back, and when my other half returned from London today I found that in our post was a card from them, offering sympathy for our lovely boy even though we no longer see them. We are so very touched by this and I want to sing their praises from the roof tops! It was only when we moved and registered with the vet closest to us that we realised how special Mile End actually are. We have since found a new super-vet further afield, but we still very much wish that 350 miles wasn't so far to go for a visit to Goddard! In short they are animal superheroes :)
