Good baba ganoush. Their gyros are good. The staff is friendly. It is a little pricey, but worth it to me.

We originally wanted to go to another restaurant, but it was closed so we walked here. We came here on September 25 at night. There aren't too many restaurants in downtown, it's a pretty deserted place from what we saw. We had one of the specialty gyros and the redneck gyro. Pros - the prices are pretty standard, around $15 for 2 gyros, and especially cheap for a downtown restaurant; food is above average Cons - there's no restroom (but then again, you can always just take it to go eat somewhere else) Overall, this isn't a place I'd go out of my way to eat at, but if you're around the area and looking for a cheap eat, this is a good option! read more

One star for the bad food and the unpleasant customer service. The food was a salty, hot mess. Undercooked, mushy half"baked" falafel burger with a very strong, raw cumin flavor. The gyro comes from a frozen stick, and it's super salty. The meat was sparse and smothered in ranch sauce that was supposed to be yogurt greek sauce. It's like eating hot bread with ranch on it. You get some salad, tomato, and if you are lucky the occasional meat piece. The boy behind the counter would ask for 55 cents for "free tap water" and he would argue with you if you express any surprise, yet alone objections to it. If he has run your card before you ask for the water you don't get the water...(even if willing to pay for it; you just get his rationale for the 55cent cost; obviously enjoying his job). Busy establishment. Full of college aged kids. Its high rating deterred us from trying other local restaurants in the area. The main strip wad dead at 6:30-7 pm on a Saturday night. read more

Delicious! Redneck gyro, Jamaican, Godfather and Moroccan wraps were on point. The Greek salad was delicious. We had just a half order of the salad but it was enough to share with our meals. The pita & hummus comes heavily seasoned..... which I'm a fan of. Life's too short to be bland. read more

Gluten intolerance? Have them put a sandwich minus the bread on a bed of lettuce! The Redneck Shawarma (bacon, chicken, Gouda and mozzarella) was cheesy with a kick of heat which made it pretty good. It's not a hefty portion and it would've been better without putting the chicken/cheese in foil. Stopped here on the way down to New Orleans. Small place with 6-8 tables inside and outside, very reasonable prices and friendly service I got the Redneck Shawarma, which was tasty and definitely unique with smoked Gouda, mozzarella and spicy ranch coating the shawarma meat and sausage. Indeed, there is nothing wrong with cheap and delicious! I haven't had a gyro this excellent since my trip to Greece three years ago. The mixed grill and hummus..... This was by far one of the best resteraunts I've eaten at in a while. I ordered one of their pitas, the Spartan Pita to be exact. It was exquisite. It came with lamb, onions, cheese, and some kind of special sauce. The price(s) are not that bad either considering the serving size. I will definitkelyt be going back there soon. read more

I was really happy with my meal here. Most of the gyro meat I've had taste like dog food flattened into slices, so I'm wary of all gyros. I really liked these though. The meat is nicely spiced and tastes (and feels and LOOKS) like real meat. I got the Mixed Grill and found the cheese plus aioli to be a little much for me, but the whole thing was still the best gyro I've ever had. Their spinach tomato orzo looks so plain but tastes amazing. I have to figure out how to make it at home because I live too far away to go here. I really regret not getting their tzatziki because it smelled heavenly. Even though the place was packed when I went for lunch, they have a really well-oiled team that got everyone's food out quickly. Plus their iced tea pictures were hilarious. This restaurant really is a nice simply stop, I would highly suggest it. I could go on about my order, the array of creative options, or what to suggest, but I'm here to review what I know how to best, that being the water. The water- It was pretty good water, but I'll get in depth about that later. I've gotta say they did down-class the place with all the styrofoam, which the cups were also made of (or at least in the West-Mobile area). Now the best part, the information you've been dying to hear about this restaurant, the zest, flavor, and culture to the water they offer. It was alright, not to plain, a little ting, but it did have that wonderful refreshing after-taste to the water. It was the traditional water taste with a twist or better put a tang. You know the image you envision of a runner finally getting that first sip of water after a long intense marathon, or a traveler through a long dense desert. It has a bit of that. I crave their Tomato Basil Orzo Pasta- it goes fast and they sell out of it. It is just perfection. They add in pita slices that are delicious and buttery. Hummus is GREAT! Crazy cheap in my opinion. I wish they would keep this location open for the bars ( they are open til 2 a.m, ) , but branch into a larger downtown or Midtown option as the location is very small. They do have a slightly larger restaurant out on Schillinger Road in West Mobile; they told me that this locale will allow other options that they can't serve in the small downtown business. Amazing!!! This place was SO good! We used Yelp to search for local places to eat as we were passing through Mobile to Biloxi and stopped here. The location is great, right downtown Mobile and the seating outside was so nice, perfect day! I had The Italian Job which was a panini-style flatbread. It was delicious! We found out his place on yelp. We were in town on Pretty Saturday and looking for low key no wait lunch spot. It was an easy 10 minute walk from Renaissance. No customers were present. No wait. All 3 outside tables open at 2:55 pm. Party of 5. Service was great. Friendly helpful and fast. I ordered Chicken philly. I wouldn't order it again. It was chunky cubed dark meat chicken pieces. The taziki dip was absolutely amazing. Great spices on the pita bread and the dip paired well. The cheesy kabob was full of flavor. The gyro, however, was lacking the flavor that the other dishes had. It couldn't quite reach the stage that had been set. Cute atmosphere, nice and cozy. Service was polite. They probably deserve a 3-1/2 star rating. I grabbed my meal to go since I wasn't exactly parked in a great spot and didn't want to linger. Given the location of the area, parking can be tricky with the other businesses close by. I may need to study a map of downtown Mobile before returning, as in pick a good place to park and then walk here or there to sample the wares. The staff here were friendly and I chatted with both guys as I waited on my food. There was a family of four in the place, while I was waiting, happily munching on their food and the general happy noises from them was a good sign. My food was good although my wrap was a little bit dry, I got the wrap with the spinach orzo inside, I forget the name. This was a very nice little restaurant. Not a huge dining room but I personally like it. The service was amazing! They were polite, friendly, and even went out of their way. I was having issues deciding what I wanted because so much of it sounded so good. So I asked, between the two I wanted, which I should pick. The entire staff gave me their opinion between the two and I was at a draw so I said "Surprise me." The great thing was he went OUT of his way to make sure I didn't know which he picked. The cook asked which to make and the guy who took my order said "You'll have to wait till you get the ticket. He gave me the receipt that had the cost but didn't give me the receipt with the items ordered. Small stuff like this is huge for small eateries. It makes a huge difference. The food was amazing. I got the Jamacian Lamb which was very nice. A very nice portion and the flavor was there. The curry was amazing but they didn't drown it. It was a nice blend of flavors. My fiance got the Chicken Philly which is normally not in my taste but this was awesome. The Bacon Carbonara Orza Pasta is so good you could eat it as a main dish. The price is good.
