Stopped in on way to Emory Hospital. Highly recommend the Kufta Kabob. Excellent. Platter of kabobs comes with salad, rice, and pita. Kufta Kabob was excellent; moist and flavorful. One of our Go To restaurants. We have been eating here since they opened in 2000/2001. Not much has changed other than they are much busier than 20 plus years ago and the prices have increased but not that much. The best deal is the lunchtime special that ends at 3:00PM and it is The Business Lunch Feast. It is huge and only $10 and includes a drink. This past week we had the special lunch and it again was huge and we even had leftovers(after splitting one lunch). The grilled beef kabob was so tasty. Wish I knew the spices they use. The Koftas were equally as good. Sometimes I get just the Koftas..love the herbs inside the grilled tubular treat. The gyro meat is very good, but it used to be better. However, sometimes we just order a side of gyro meat(which is a lot) for $4.50! The serve a huge side of saffron rice and a very large Greek salad. We don't know how one person can eat all of the food. If you order the lunch special they will be pretty flexible. What Grilled Chicken you can have it. Want to make it Vegetarian - no problem. They have several metro locations & 1 in Athens. This review is for my favorite location on N. Decatur Rd. It's near Emory & the Atlanta VA Hospital so either order ahead & pick it up or avoid the lunch crowd M-F. The people are friendly, the food is good, flavorful, & priced at a value, despite the steep rise in prices elsewhere. You will not leave hungry, especially if you order the business lunch M-F/the combination feast on the weekends. With this classic meal you get a taste of a few things, a Greek salad (note, the olives are not pitted), rice, gyro meat, steak kabob, & beef kofta. The business lunch has other options, but I like the variety in the combination feast. I always have enough for another meal, making it a true value meal for college students, VA employees, & customers in general. The dolmas are good according to my husband. I don't usually eat them. The hummus is good & you get several pieces of pita with it. The baklava pistachio is good, but I prefer the one at Your Dekalb Farmer's Market better as it's a little more moist. The ambiance is casual. Depending on what time you go, you may have to wipe some crumbs from the table yourself, but it's not a big deal. If that's what I have to do to enjoy a good meal at a great price, I'm willing to contribute to keep costs down. I enjoy seeing the diversity of the patrons. The quality of this place has definitely declined over the years. I usually get the trusty gyro sandwich of which over the last couple of months have tasted off. The quality is just not what it used to be. The calamari during the more recent trip wasn't too bad in quality, price, and portion. I was pleasantly surprised and would probably order it again. The prices are still cheap even in this pandemic and inflation era, but it, like everything else, has risen as to be expected just a little. My husband had the Chicken Kabob Sandwich with a Greek salad and he was so happy. The chicken was piping hot and it was covered in fresh green leaf lettuce with ripe red tomatoes and so much delicious yogurt sauce. The pita tastes like supermarket store brand. The red lentil soup is the worst I've ever had. Inedible. Plus it was given in a soda cup!! I want to vomit. Restaurants just get a pass here for some reason to stay open and qualify this as acceptable food. There's no incentive to make food good here apparently. I'm from metro NY. The standards just must be so much lower here. I mostly can't eat anywhere unless it's a high end $$$$ establishment. Also, they couldn't get my order right. They were not even busy. They shouldn't be. I got salad dressing instead of the hot sauce. I said no yogurt sauce and they included it anyway. Seriously? I have been eating at Mediterranean Grill since it opened. The food, until recently, has always been fresh and consistent. We pick up food to go, so I haven't had an opportunity to talk to the owner or manager about the quality control issues. I am hoping they monitor their reviews. We picked up our regular order yesterday and if we didn't live 25-30 mins away, I would have returned it. All orders of the potatoes were undercooked and oily. I usually resuscitate them in the toaster oven since they steam in the container. They were so underdone that was not possible. The hummus the last 3 times seems like it's missing any seasoning at all. Falafel have gotten smaller and are now very dry. Feta cheese on the Greek salad was too funky to eat. Soup was still pretty consistent. Really disappointed because this is our "go-to" Mediterranean comfort place. read more

I walked right up to the counter and order a combination feast- which included a salad, rice, several different meats and pita. I also got a few falafels with my order. I took my food to go. Not sure if it was the tomato with the obvious rotten hole on it or the hair in my salad that turned me off from the rest of the food. It was not near as good as I remembered. Price is on point, but the quality was eh, ok. Parking is a shared lot and free. There are lots of speed bumps in the parking lot, so please don't fly through it. Gyro sandwiches - typical gyros and nothing super exciting to write about. The pita was soggy by the time we made it home (10 minute drive). I think if the pita was wrapped in a way to let it breathe it wouldn't have been so soggy. Spankakopita - I wouldn't order this again. Again. Nothing special and was actually burnt. It was also probably the reason why it took awhile for our order to be completed. Bakalavas - We ordered the walnut and the pistacho. The walnut was thick and super sweet. What was once a culinary delight is now a Greek tragedy. The dominating flavor of the dolmades was bitterness, and they were so dense and dry, we felt they were inedible and probably many days old. The cook also hammered the falafel, serving it almost black. All of our salads were underdressed and lacked flavor.
