Always consistently good breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We love the salad bar too and kids $.99 breakfast! Great pizza as well! I only wish they'd still have the coupon mailers like they used to for the last 8 years. read more

We live in Herndon but when we want to go out to dinner it is worth the drive to go to Ashburn to enjoy the people, food and atmosphere of Mediterranean Breeze restaurant. We have enjoyed lunches and dinners, the salad and soup bar, predictably good entrees and the delicious desserts. On several occasions I have ordered trays of spanikopita and baklava for family events as they are such a favorite. If i get anywhere in the area I am tempted to just run by and get a bite to eat because I am close enough to enjoy their cuisine. They can accommodate large parties and small and do provide delicious catering. Our church used them for our 10th anniversary celebration as many of the members had visited the restaurant and been impressed. read more

Their pizza is fantastic. I order pizza from here now instead of pizza hut, papa johns, etc

Only positive things to say about Mediterranean Breeze, not one negative about my experiences here. The food is authentic and delicious, best greek food in the area and the best Moussaka I've ever had, also comes with green beans, rice, garlic bread and a trip to the salad bar (all delicious). If your looking for authentic Greek dining I recommend you try Mediterranean Breeze, you won't be disappointed. read more

Terry is the man! The food is awesome! We need more 5 star reviews over here!

Food was good here. Better than the place on Herndon by far.

Following is a review of my first -- and last -- visit to this restaurant. Food: 2.5 Stars. My wife had veal marsala and i had eggplant parmagiana. My eggplant was firm, not mushy (good), but the marinara sauce was as tasteless as any you would find a frozen entree. My wife said her veal was OK. The salad bar was limited, but fresh. Value: 2 Stars. The prices were not exorbitant, but they were higher than merited by the meal itself. Service/Hospitality: 0.5 Star. When we entered the restaurant we were not greeted by a smiling hostess. Instead a young woman folding napkins at a table near the entrance grabbed two menus, offered no greeting, and ushered us to a table next to the salad bar. I immediately informed her that we preferred outdoor dining (the weather was great), and she silently escorted us to the outdoor tables. Our server never volunteered the day's specials, but when I inquired she did know what they were. I had to ask her twice for a glass of water. (Remember when water glasses were served immediately, without asking?) After finishing our salads she came back to collect the plates. I offered mine and she said, "Don't you want to keep your knife and fork." I told her I did not, expecting clean flatware for my dinner. She then said (correctly) that she would bring me clean flatware, but she forgot and I had to remind her. I'm still astonished to think that a restaurant would imagine a patron would retain flatware covered with salad dressing and place them on a public table (no cloth) while waiting for a main course. At the very end of the experience, the woman who seemed to function as hostess came to our table and silently dropped the folder with check and credit card on our table, turned and walked away. I called after her, "You're welcome," but I don't think the reminder of her lack of courtesy registered with her. I overheard other members of the wait staff address patrons at other tables as, "you guys" and similar crudities. Ambience: 3.75 Stars. The location is a bit better than your typical suburban strip mall restaurant, because it provides a shaded veranda for outdoor dining with a pleasant view of a section of the WO&D trail. On the downside, it's directly across the street from the Ashburn VFD, so the occasional siren has to be expected. Parking is adequate, but just barely. The decor is pleasant. Overall, I give this restaurant 2 Stars. With a little effort I think it could easily advance beyond 3 Stars, but they'll have to do it without my patronage. read more

Blehhhhhh tasteless bland food. The only thing worth trying is their lamb chops....mousakka was average. I highly recommend Nick's Taverna over this place! read more

Sure, it's not blow your mind good, but they offer a huge menu and do most of it well. And, I enjoy eating at a locally owned restaurant, over the chains we have here. I love me some Chicken Souvlaki and the only places I order it from here are Brick Oven Pizzeria and "The Breeze." read more

Came here last Sunday just before noon. Their gyro platter is fantastic and their mousakka was wonderful. Food was 5 stars! The reason for 3 stars was the poor service. We were seated without silverware at a dirty table (salt and crumbs all over it). Server took our drink order and mixed up who got what then proceeded to bring coffee when none had been ordered and 1 person was still waiting on their soft drink. We order our meals and 3 include salad bar trips. All three arrive back to table and still no silverware. We flag another server and tell them we need silverware. Still don't get it. Finally we see someone putting silverware sets down at other tables and 1 person goes over to him to grab 4 settings. Our waitress never did come back with it. Food arrives and is quite good. Refills on drinks were slow to be asked about and slow to receive. It's now close to 1 and restaurant is not too busy. Check was slow to arrive and take home boxes were very slow to make it back to table along with receipt. Thankfully we weren't in a rush but service moved very slow that day and was just "off". It really affected the entire meal from start to finIsh . read more

What a disappointment. We have been coming here since 2005, but the quality of the food has really been declining (in spite of large "Best of Loudoun" advertising.) The Moussaka is a distant third to Opa, and even Nick's Taverna. (and fourth if you factor in Santori Grill in Berryville.) It is standard that pans of moussaka be done beforehand and then reheated, but Med Breeze's moussaka was dry and bland. The bottom layer of potatoes should be infused with drippings from the meat, but this was starchy and leathery. It obviously was days old. The Gyro platter had no tzatziki sauce or feta cheese. The Athenian platter contained a generous selection of mediocrity. The Mezza platter was simply sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese, olives, and canned dolma. Canned dolma on the salad bar may be OK, but not on a platter. The food would have rated an unremarkable 3 stars were it not for the dead fly in salad bar bin of cheese. Dead flies cost a star. Until the Mediterranean Breeze restores a level of freshness and passion to their fare, we will not be going back. It is just sad. read more

Don't eat here. We tried this place for Mother's Day brunch and it was a disaster. Mother's Day is always a busy day to eat out, and some delay is expected, but waiting 25 minutes for a waiter to come by and take our drink order is ridiculous. The wait staff at Mediterranean Breeze has the best tunnel vision in Northern Virginia - you will need a flamethrower to get their attention. When we finally were able to order the buffet brunch, we found that there were no plates in the buffet line. The wait staff actually acted annoyed when we pointed this out. Once the plates (finally) arrived, we discovered that there was no food in any of the metal food containers, except for a few pieces of toast in one container. Call me old-fashioned, but when I pay for a buffet I expect food in the buffet line. The staff kept closing the containers to hide the fact that there was no food, despite the fact that the buffet was advertized to run for another 45 minutes. This restaurant would have to improve dramatically to be even minimally acceptable. There are many other dining alternatives nearby - you are better off spending your money somewhere else. read more

We finally made it to dinner here on a Monday evening and were really disappointed. My husband ordered a chicken special - the chicken was moist and somewhat flavorful, but the potatoes and green beans tasted weak, canned and soggy. My Greek salad was so bad, I only ate a few bites. Again, it tasted like canned olives, poor quality feta, weak tasting vegetables - not a fresh, vibrant Greek salad that you would expect from a Mediterranean restaurant. It was also supposed to come with olive oil as dressing, but I got a side of gelatinous goo instead for dressing. Our waiter forgot the bread until mid meal, and after bringing back our bill after charging it to our card at the end of the meal, left our card sitting forlornly for anyone to grab up at the front desk. In fact, the cashier did use it to charge someone else's take out meal, which thankfully was caught and rectified before we left. We will not be returning. read more
