What an incredible restaurant! Sitting in Seattle, we ordered dinner for my Mom for a Christmas gift...she lives in Ashburn. Everything was going perfectly until the Uber Eats driver bailed on the delivery as the food was coming out. There was no way to get the food to her. After searching for an alternate way to get the food deliver, the owner stepped in and even though they do not normally deliver, he did. The team at Mediterranean Breeze saved by Mother's Christmas and she told us that the lamb chops were the best she's ever had! We can't wait to eat their in person when we come to visit! Thanks! Extensive menu (both brunch and lunch on the weekends), friendly but slow service, and some great and some ok dishes. There's an outdoor patio with about 10 tables and a sizable dining room with paintings of Greece. Trio of dips (hummus, tzatziki, and a spicy feta dip, though the third was supposed to be eggplant), and warm pita: good Dolmades platter: the green beans cooked with tomato and onion (though beans were canned) are tasty, and the potato poached in olive oil and lemon was absolutely spectacular. The dolmades themselves were a bit heavy and not the most flavorful. Did come with a fresh salad. Gyro platter: flavorful lamb and beef gyro, great wrapped up with pita, tzatziki, and a crispy French fry. The fries are a bit heavy. Salad pretty fresh. All in all a good meal and nice it's across the street from the W&OD bike trail. read more

I don't understand the low ratings on this restaurant since the food simply delicious and amazing! I ordered the gyro and my friend ordered the chicken kabobs and both were just amazingly delicious!! My gyro was probably the most delicious and most flavorful gyro I've ever had in the area and the most juicy and perfectly cooked! The chicken kabobs were so tender and juicy and so perfectly cooked as well and the rice and green beans on the side were also amazingly delicious! It also came with a full sized side salad and pita bread which was so surprising so that was a nice surprise! We will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again since their food is simply delicious!! read more

So glad we found this family owned hidden gem! The food was plentiful and fresh. Our server, Leo, was friendly, thoughtful and attentive. When our water glasses were refilled, he also brought a glass of ice with it. We ordered both ordered a side salad that was a good, fresh portion with a large slice of cucumber and tomato. The dressing is made in-house and was very tasty! Hubby had the Greek chicken with green beans and Greek potato. The chicken was moist and so flavorful! This place came recommended so we gave it a try for Sunday lunch. Positive things: One of the young servers was very kind. My husband enjoyed his pizza. And yet..the place was not crowded; yet there were several guests coming to the front to complain or fetch their own table settings, coffee etc. not a good sign. We were served drinks immediately and placed our order: we would share a Village Salad, my husband ordered a small pizza and I ordered a Greek Roast chicken with potatoes and green beans. The salad arrived 35 minutes later; 2 small plain romain salads. 15 minutes later we asked about our entrees. Out came the pizza and another salad with a small plate of dry grilled chicken breast. We asked what this was and we're told that the server had only heard pizza and assumed I ordered chicken on a second salad. What? No apology or explanation offered. BTW no utensils brought either. The chicken was too dry to eat and since I had just finished a salad, I didn't want a second one. We paid the bill and left. We won't return to this family run place with guests in the kitchen and likely the most disorganized service we've encountered. It's a sad little place. read more

I'm sorry M.B. Your breakfast to go the other day was such a frustration. Pancakes were over cooked, bacon and the gyro meat was devoid of taste. We used to love to eat here, back when you were the only restaurant of its kind in Ashburn. But now, you are a shell of your glory days. There was one couple eating inside. So the icing on the cake why we will never return? Charging me $12.50 and $13.00 for breakfast combos when your online and in restaurant menus both said $10.50. Hope it was worth it! Will NOT be returning here OR recommending it again. Placed an order for 2 (customized) Grilled Chicken meals which says is wrapped in a pita. I picked up the curbside order and was handed a bag with a strong, tight knot, so I couldn't look at it until returning home (I had to use scissors to cut it open at home). Arrived home a little after 8pm and when we opened the boxes, the chicken sandwiches were on BUNS. I immediately called, but because it was after 8pm, they were closed, however I left a detailed voicemail and asked for them to return my call. They never did. I decided to give them another chance but after my horrible experience with the owner...who btw the girl at the register said had stepped out, yet was sitting at a table eating dinner and hearing the conversation.....I am NOT going again!! The Manager comes over and asks the issue; nicely explaining what happened and showing him photos of what I received his only and continuous response was "you got the food and never fixed it". Well sir, I did try to fix it by calling and asking you to call back, albeit you had closed but you could have made it right by calling the next day. After going round and round about this with him and he repeating the fact the "I got the food and never fixed it", he finally said "when we run out of pita's they use buns". Okay but WHY don't you tell your patrons this by calling back when the order is being made or make it up by offering a FREE dessert or appetizer or 50% credit off your next (single item) order?? I mean it is a PITA that your meal is being served on, per the menu. After going round and round with this and he kept saying that "I got my food and I never fixed it" he said I could have 50% off my current order, which was all of $10!! Being stunned at this ridiculous offer, he finally just said take your food and he never charged me for it. DO NOT blame the customer when your restaurant doesn't have enough product to serve the customer. There should be better communication between the kitchen and the Manager and the front desk, taking the orders and letting the customer know. I'm heading back to Nick's and Greek Unique. read more

The loud and rude woman working there, who might be an owner, thinks it's ok to spew her bad mood and frustration at people and potential customers. Still a "go to" restaurant in Ashburn, has been here for many years. Souvlakia is really good, along with onion rings, my usual order. Family atmosphere, colorful murals, place just feels good. Always clean and consistently good food, desserts are House made and delicious, try the baklava! If the staff was a bit friendlier and more attentive I'd go with 5 Star. read more

Just finished dinner here. Our server was Dayana who was so helpful with telling us her favorites and she was spot on!! I had the spinach pie which was excellent and my husband enjoyed a chicken souvlaki. I also had the Greek salad and I finally found a restaurant that serves a Greek dressing. My family has been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years. Several years ago this establishment was fabulous - large portions - quick, friendly service, tasty, quality food. The last couple of times we have dined the portions have become smaller - as prices continue to increase. Service is very slow & most times my food is cold. For starters, they don't have their liquor license, so that was a bummer. When my entree came out, I asked if it came with tzaiki sauce, and he said yes and went to get it on the tray several tables away, while saying "I only have two hands." Rude! This place used to be soooo delicious and clean...now it's greasy and dirty. I've ordered here quite often but had stopped because the food was insanely greasy and the customer service was terrible. Called to place an order to be delivered, was told they don't deliver anymore...wasn't too happy about that but honestly their delivery service was awful, it was always some middle aged guy who wasn't friendly, looked like he wanted to kill you and wouldn't leave my front door until I tipped him, but after his rudeness every time I stopped tipping him because you have to EARN the tip, it's not guaranteed and if the delivery person is friendly then I will gladly tip but that guy was awful. After all of the times he delivered and was so rude I actually called the restaurant and let them know of that and they said they had a few issues and complaints from other people about him as well. I wish they still delivered but I'm glad he doesn't deliver. But I was wanting this food so bad so I drove over to pick up my food and there was only one other person there at 6 o'clock on a Sunday night and I know it's the weekend but I would expect it to be busier. The place was filthy, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in over 30 years, it smelled so bad, the floor was sticky, I mean they need to do a serious overhaul of fixing up the place and cleaning it. It deters customers!! I always get the gyro platter...still as greasy as I remember. But the meat is good. The salad dressing is so darn good. The fries were soggy and greasy. Quite disappointed. The hummus is still as oily as I remember, and lacked salt and lemon. It was just blah. The lady who took my payment wasn't friendly at all and wasn't welcoming. No smile, no hello, nothing. They need to work on their restaurant big time from food to customer service to cleanliness. This place needs serious work. I don't know what is going on at Mediterranean Breeze, but the things are slipping badly. My wife and I used to love to come here for breakfast on Sundays, while everyone else stood in line at IHOP and it was also a great place for us to go on a Friday night, where we could get a good meal and the service was always good. Our last few visits have been eye-opening as the place is becoming run down, the carpet in the dining room is so filthy it is disgusting, the tables are sticky and the menus make you want to wash your hands after you touch them. Speaking of the menu, it's a really bad look for a restaurant when (and I'm not exaggerating) 50% of the items on the menu are crossed out with a marker. For God's sake, just print a piece of paper showing the items you have! You are embarrassing yourself as a restaurant owner when you present customers with menus that are marked up like that! Sadly, some of my favorite dishes were crossed out, but my wife and I did not want to just get up and walk out, so we ordered the salad bar and a couple of sandwiches...meh. Sadly, until I hear things have improved, I have made my last visit to MB Ashburn. The location in Herndon is so much different- the menu is different and there seems to be life in that place. The produce was so fresh and crisp, making the salads everything you could ever want :') I ordered the Moussaka and I had to slow myself down because I didn't want it to end. Went here for dinner the other night. What a value! Ended up getting about 4-5 meals worth of food out of two meals, especially given a lot of the dinners come with the salad bar, which is put together quite well with a lot of fresh options. I thought everything was really tasty and flavorful. My only complaint is that the gyro meat was a little TOO thinly sliced (yes, I know it is supposed to be, but this was almost transparent in places) and therefore kind of dried out. They're also not the fastest. The food, especially the sauces, are seasoned to perfection, though. It won't be a staple, but I'll probably come back here sometime. read more

We got some saganaki, chicken souvlaki, & gyros sandwich. I also had a margarita. Everything tasted good and the prices were average. I was sad to see the muscles were no longer available. This was my first time here and I wanted to try them based on good reviews about them; however, they are no longer being sold. Service and atmosphere were nice. Perhaps a little dated feeling. At first things were going well, drinks and appetizers timely and it went down hill from there, 2 hours we sat there, the child received his pizza finished it and the adults still did not. We called over the manager who made an excuse about to go orders. During this time we watched tables arrive, receive their food and check out and we still did not have our entrees. Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience this year. Since I'm including some two week old leftovers I microwaved I think that's saying a lot. The food was mediocre, but not really deserving of a one star review. Why this place deserves a one star review is because it took an hour to get our food. I know what you're thinking, 'it was busy, you have to be forgiving during a rush'. No, my fellow yelper, it was not busy - nor did they have a short-staff in the kitchen, as witnessed by the other three tables which came in after us, who all got their food before us. That includes the lady who came in 25 minutes after us. But when they brought out our food, sans my daughter's cheeseburger, because that'd take an extra 15 minutes, that was too much. When you threaten to get up and leave, apparently physics reacts and the cheeseburger only takes two minutes to cook. Imagine that. read more
