Mediacom sucks.!!! I am switching providers very soon, we actually have another option now about to go live in our area so i am ready to drop Mediacom so fast. I work from home and the connection drops at least a dozen times a day, sometimes 5-6 times in a 20 minute span. And ironically as i am typing this the connection dropped. What a surprise......LOL. If you want reliable internet you may want to shop elsewhere because this service is down time and time again. I have never experienced down time through an internet provider as much as through Mediacom this is by far the most over priced internet with the most garbage service. The customer service both in person and on phone are the rudest I have ever spoken with. I rarely ask to speak to a supervisor but I was sorry I did, as she was more rude than the representatives. Their prices are much higher than cable companies in other areas, but we have no other option here. They also ran an unsightly black cable wire across the front of my house when installing and didn't bother to tuck it under the siding. Office hours are very limited during the day and not open on the weekend if you need to go in person for anything. I have had MediaCom for 16 years. The only reason I've kept MediaCom is because my neighborhood had no other option. MediaCom's service and attention to detail has been terrible the past 16 years. Today, I called to cancel MediaCom (I have MetroNet now thank goodness) and MediaCom WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO CANCEL OVER THE PHONE!!!! They said I needed to speak with a specialist that would call me back tomorrow. Well, call me back or not MediaCom, the credit card is pulled from the file and I'm not paying your bills anymore. Half time of the Superbowl started and the Mediacom cable went out in our neighborhood. Not joking! Screen went black and "error can't find signal" appeared on screen. Although I am not happy with my bill going up $40.00 a month, I do appreciate the caring customer service I received. I would love to see Mediacom, our only choice for cable, to offer packages where you can choose your own channels. For now, I will continue with them as outages are less frequent than satellite, but I hope to see some improvements with mediacom's services in the near future. read more

Mediacom Internet is literally the worst. Called them about our issues and the only thing they did was reboot our internet like we haven't been twice a day for the past 3 weeks. They said there's a lot of interference but they don't do something about it. They're routers are also the worst, we buy a new one and it's having problems for the first month having it and we have to get a guy called over to fix it every week but they just create a new problem every damn time. I'm sick of my internet saying it's on and showing it's working fine and it takes a ridiculous amount of time to load stuff even if I'm the only one in the house on the internet. I had the home package and in 2019 I requested to cancel my cable and keep my internet service. For over a year my bill did not reflect the changes in my account, even after they came to my house to remove the cable boxes. Media com completed an audit and came to the conclusion that I did not meet the requirements for a refund because I still had channel service to the house if I plugged directly into my wall connection. read more

She will never open the door early. She sat there and watched us and waited. Mediacom service and cheap Chinese refurbished manufactured modems and TV boxes all Suck!. Nothing but garbage. Numerous issues with many other neighbors in my sub-division. Glad I'm not alone. They send a tech out and he tells us their equipment is unable to provide the speed needed to stream a movie off Netflix and we would need to spend $300 plus for our own equipment so we would be able to stream a movie or run our phones or tablets on wifi . If I could I give negative I would. Mediacom claiming that it is an internet service provider is a negligent claim. The fact that that they charge people for a service that works so sporadically is borderline criminal. I live in Elburn in the Willow Creek Community. Mediacom is all we have available as a provider. Our internet is down several days a month and the entire community is furious. We are constantly putting in service requests with the same outcome. The service is down a day or more before a technician comes out. They eventually resort or partially restore the service. It then goes off line again. This is the worst platform/ service model I have ever seen. I called today because our internet service was down again. I spoke to a supervisor directly (because the calls end up there anyway) and I was told by the supervisor that I should upgrade my residential account to a commercial account and I would get better service. What???? I just want the service I pay for to work! Why should I double down on a terrible service with lousy tech? I am interested in who else has suffered the kind of damages I have. Have you lost hours of work, blown through your data plans and purchased upgrades because you have had to stand up hotspots with your cell phone in order to get some work done and prop up Mediacom's lousy service? All while paying Mediacom for a service they cannot provide? I don't get any bill credit for the outages. I'm interested in filing a class action lawsuit against this abhorrent company. Terrible company. They dobt show up for an appointment, i sat around for an hour waiting for the supervisor to call and they never did. I tell them we will install the boxes and we do practically all the work and they still charge ud ANOTHER install fee. We wanted one tivo box and one regular cable box and they only had 2 tivo in the truck and "it wont impact the price". Turns out its another $20 a month. The next nobth we downgraded to the correct box.... Another install fee and it takes 5 hours to do! Our bill is still $50 more than our package was supposed to be so we took out tivo entirely and the bill goes up again! Terrible, terrible company!! read more

Horrible horrible horrible service!!!!! By far the worst service provider in the industry I was installed on August 15 the technician that came out to my home created more damage to my ceilings drilling holes through my trim and door jams walked in my home with no shoe covers dirty boots on my brand-new carpet of a home that we just bought upon him completing his install he left all of the garbage thrown on my floor in the living room he never hooked up the three televisions on the second floor left the boxes in the bedrooms was in the house for the first 10 minutes and then needed to use my bathroom yes a number two. Once he was finished he came out of my bathroom then told me he needed something to drink once he was done I asked him for cables so we can hook up the televisions HDMI cables he told me he needed to go out to his truck to get them instead he went out to his truck and left. Upon calling into the company they sent out text subcontractors owner who came out to my home to fix some of the mess nobody addressed the fact that he screwed up my ceilings drilled a hole through my door jams in my trim nothing even after the subcontractors supervisor/owner of the company came out to my house my service still did not work called and once again to have three more technicians arrived to my home to fix it and they were all unsuccessful finally I get a phone call from my local supervisorwho's name is Jeff Jeff is out of the Prairie Grove office he gets me a direct cell phone number text him with any issues problems or concerns well he doesn't return text messages or phone calls again another sign of the extremely poor customer service after almost 2 1/2 months of dealing with this I'm pulling the plug today I'm returning the cable boxes willing to make the drive to their Elburn office to drop the shit that doesn't work on the front counter your customer service and your management are by far the most ignorant when it comes to what you provide which is nothing because it doesn't work the only reason you're getting one star is because they don't have a garbage button to any consumer in the market for a cable company run don't use this company!!!!!!!! Finally I would like to add I have offered to submit pictures of the damages receipts for having my ceilings repainted from the technicians filthy hands the company is denied to have to want the pictures or to compensate for the damages is an absolute shame this was how a new customer myself was treated. read more

Mediacom has HORRIBLE customer service. A few months ago Mediacom determined that we had a signal leak and turned off our service. That's understandable because they are regulated but then they make ZERO effort to communicate with us or fix the problem. On two different occasions I've been home and our car is in the driveway. They walk up, put a note on the door saying 'sorry they were unable to get ahold of us' and leave. They don't knock or ring a doorbell. We have a little dog that barks at even the slightest noise at the door so I know they didn't knock. One time I noticed the van in the street so I opened the door, made eye contact with the driver and he drove away? We are now waiting for them to come today with a service window of 8am-8pm!? Did I mention that we have signed up for automatic bill pay, our bill says automatic bill pay but we keep getting noticed that our payment wasn't received and we keep resetting automatic bill pay?!? read more

The service is great. I go straight to the office in Elburn because I feel like I can trust Jessica. I had their service when I lived out there and she was amazing and helped me with anything she could. I don't know what the person heifer experienced because that's not the mediacom I know. The line in our house went bad once and we were trying to run it ourself. The guy was out testing the lines and he actually helped us finish feeding it threw a tough spot and tested to make sure it was all working right. These people are amazing and they had never been less than helpful. I actually have and issue I'm dealing with right now where I had a line ran over my fence for my neighbors service. I came back tonight to finish up some work from home and noticed I have no service. Their phone service does suck, but I have faith that when I go in tomorrow to talk to them they will hop right on it and help me asap. I already tested my lines and I'm sure there won't be any problems. Keep it going guys you are epic! read more

Let me start out by saying that I've come across poor service with Internet and phone providers over the years but NOBODY even comes close to the level of poor service that is Mediacom! We've been in our current house only since September and have had 4-5 service outages. It seems like anytime someone sneezes, we lose our phone and Internet. And then they make you wait 5-7 days (at a minimum) before a service technician is dispatched to fix it. How do they not give priority to current customers who continue to receive poor service? I am absolutely amazed that this company is still in business. They are absolutely terrible. We are in the process of switching to another carrier. I would STRONGLY urge everyone to steer clear of Mediacom. I never thought I'd find a company that actually makes Charter Communications look good. But lo and behold, Mediacom takes the cake.
