How long does it take to get a hospital bed after you order one? Sadly, not joking, it took over three months to get things fully installed and settled. As we age, the shopping profile changes with more medical related needs. After doing some research, my friend came across this company in seeking a hospital bed for home. Searching their website, my friend selected the bed and mattress and we placed the order online. A short while later, the company told us that the mattress was not available (backordered) and asked us whether we wanted to order another model but we stuck with the original one. After a couple of weeks passed, we didn't hear anything and considered canceling the order. It was on this telephone call that I learned that it was shipped already. After discussing this with my friend, I called them again to ask them to withhold from having it delivered but they refused. The person on the phone told us that there would be a restocking fee and that we would still have to pay for the shipping which would pretty much be the cost of our bed and mattress. Given these circumstances, we bit the bullet and decided to accept the order. The communications were scattered as I got an email from the shipping company with a tracking number. In clicking the link, it led to nowhere. Things took an upturn when the delivery and installing company called me on a Saturday to schedule with me. We selected a midweek delivery. After sharing the dimensions of the building's elevator in making sure that the bed would be able to go up four stories, the installers were able to bring the bedframe upstairs and assemble it. The dip came when we learned that the mattress was not shipped with the bedframe. It actually arrived a few days later so my friend had to get a bridge mattress to use until it arrived. End of story? No, as we then learned that the brackets to secure the mattress were missing. They shipped a set to us and we learned that they did not fit this bed. After back and forth for about a month, they sent us some padding to brace the mattress from moving. sigh... we finally closed the book on this. They found a solution, replacing a part that didn't fit but served its function. It has been frustrating but we finally have everything in place. As I wrote this, it teetered between 1 and 2 stars but I'm bumping it to three only because of the diligence and helpfulness of Sonia. I'm not sure whether I'll buy things again here given the trying process. read more

Buyer Beware - Their white glove service is not what it is a cracked up to be, the pallet will be dropped in your driveway and you will wait 3+ weeks to get you product set up. They do not have a network of technicians to perform this set up; you will need to work with the technician schedule and not your schedule. We placed the order on Saturday, 5/16, but needed to cancel on 5/19. The return policy states there is a 7 day window to cancel from the time we ordered. I reached out via chat at 10:43am EST on 5/19 and specified the need to cancel. They responded we would hear back within 24 hrs. I received a call at 10:45am and the representative told me they would send a cancellation confirmation email. I received an email on 5/20 that the order had shipped. I checked the tracking and it in fact shipped at 6:19pm 5/19, AFTER I had cancelled the order and was told I would receive a confirmation email that it was cancelled. I called Med Mart to follow up on 5/20 after getting the shipping email and they told me that because it shipped, I would be charged a 25% restocking fee and return shipping on a 500 POUND bed. I was originally told the bed would be delivered roughly June 4th and I paid for installation. This freight delivery was suddenly slated to arrive on 5/21. Fast forward to today, we had an appointment and no one showed up. We left a message on their voicemail which no one has returned a call. We called the store and the sales staff informed us that the repair people leave at 3:45 on Fridays. I find it shocking that the availability was not stated on the site and that I had to contact them to find out what was going on rather than them contacting me. I then requested a credit to my credit card, and the response was, 'we don't do that. Give us your bank account information and we will credit you. This is a direct violation of their merchant agreement with Visa about issuing credits. They said they would talk to their manager and get it taken care of. Two weeks, no credit. Called customer service again who apologized and said they would have their manager take care of it. Another week later. No credit. I finally had to open a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back for a product I never received. California Buyer be aware ! If you purchase a hospital bed from Med Mart and you purchase a protection plan you will still be responsible for mechanical maintenance and repair. If you are unable to preform these requirements you are still responsible to find someone to preform them for you. There appears to be only one Med Mart technician who covers the whole state of California. These customer responsibilities are not spelled out in any Med Mart document according to their service department as they are "Common Knowledge". Common knowledge to who I ask... BUYER BEWARE in dealing with Med Mart. They only care about their bottom line and do NOT care about the patient, patient's family, or customer. All they want is to rip you off for as much money as possible. I am the caregiver for my father who was diagnosed with 2 forms of cancer in 2022. He became bed ridden because he has tumors on his spine and this caused him to not be able to stand/walk for approx 6-9 months. I care for him at our double level home. We have a hospital bed in the living room where he is convalescing/recovering. After months of physical therapy, chemo, and beating one of his cancers, he is now able to stand on his own (with a walker) and move himself from a bed to a chair, etc. However, when he first came home from the hospital, I had no way of getting him, a 240 lb, 6'2" patient from one piece of furniture to another. On July 22nd, 2022 I purchased a Hoyer® Deluxe Power Patient Lift and Molift EvoSling Shadow HighBack from Med Mart for an order total of $1,806.07. The website claimed they had FREE same day shipping which is why I bought from them vs. other online medical supply stores. I needed the equipment delivered to my door asap so I could care for my father. I ordered the lift on 7/22 and it promised same day shipping. The lift wasn't shipped until 7/25 and the patient (my father) was re-hospitalized on 7/27 due to a fall because he was struggling to get from the bed to the chair (which is what I needed the lift same day for!!!) Once my dad was re-hospitalized (because of the lift not arriving same day as promised), I had no way of knowing when he'd be coming home again. I contacted Med Mart immediately advising them since I had not received the items yet that I needed to cancel the order for a full refund. They did not answer me and proceeded to have the items sent to me. On July 30th, 2022 I received an email that FedEx was trying to reach me because the freight shipment was going to be dropped off at the end of my drive way. I reached out to Med Mart again via email and phone. The lady I spoke with from Med Mart (on the phone) was very very nasty and started screaming at/arguing with me on the phone. She advised me that first of all FedEx would not deliver it to my door (I am up 10 stairs). I told her that wouldn't help me because the hoyer lift is hundreds of pounds or more and I would have no way to get it into the house where the patient is. She told me this wasn't her problem. She also refused to cancel my order and give me a full refund. She then told me that she would advise me not to cancel the order because I would end up only getting a fraction of my money back. WHAT? Why? She claimed that if the order was cancelled, Med Mart would charge me shipping (which was very expensive for an item so large) AND a restocking fee! I explained to her that shipping was free, per their website, so why would I be charged shipping?? She told me that regardless, if I cancelled my order, they would have to recoup their shipping costs from me. I told her I was never advised of this nor was this noted on the webpage when I placed the order. She claimed that somewhere (hidden) in the terms and conditions of their website it states that shipments may not arrive same day AND that in the event an order is cancelled, the customer will be charged the full shipping amount AND a restocking fee. I explained to her I had no way of getting the lift in my house and the patient was in the hospital so I needed to cancel the order... especially since I had not received it. She argued with me and refused. I hung up and called back to speak with someone else. She answered again (do they only have one customer service agent there???). She told me that she cancelled the order and after the shipping charges and restock fee, I would get a refund of $323.18. I paid over $1,800.00 and they refunded me ONLY $323.18... so they kept $1,500.00 of mine AND THE ITEMS. This is robbery/fraud! I told her that she needed to understand that their customers are patients and families with sick members who have the cost and stress of taking care of seriously ill people and what they are doing is unconscionable. They were literally stealing from sick people. She told me, "We are empathetic to that but we are a business and sick or not, we have to make money too." I couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. I asked to talk to a manager. She said, "No you cannot speak with a manager... and besides everyone here is already well aware of you as we sent out a company wide memo about the call you just made to us since you were so nasty." Excuse me?!? At the end of the day, I had to go to my credit card company and file a charge back claim with them. THEY made it right, after hearing my story of Med Mart's extortion, and the credit card company refunded me my full amount since I had been charged for merchandise I didn't receive. Buyer Beware. I looked at the reviews after the fact of purchasing a stair lift from this company. We live in a two-story home with a flight of stairs going to the master bed room. My wife was not able to climb these stairs without some difficulty, so we looked into a stair lift. The sales rep came out and we agreed on installation. I asked about deinstallation and was told that it would be pennies on the dollar. Okay so I was warned. My wife wish was to have this installed. I think it was her way of hoping that her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer would get better. What was to be a four hour install turned into 8. I brought her home February 14 and the lift installed on the 15th. She passed away on the 19th, never having used the device. When I called to inquire about the deinstallation, several things happened. Left messages, sent emails, all which was meet with silence until I reached out the to sales rep who then got the accounting department to give me a call. Told them what had happened and they were going to have the manager give me a call. Several days passed and he did call. The conversation was very awkward. He said he would have to send someone out to verify its condition, - never used, left as it was when it was installed. It was a special order and it would be very difficult to resell. And he would have to pay someone to come out and remove. I get that. Basically, my mind said "sleazy" tactics. They did come out and deinstall the system, and like the sales rep said - pennies on the dollar. I received my lift chair in Dec 2023. Since I received my lift chair, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I paid for a chair with extra height for 6'3 to 6'8. I'm 5'11 and my feet hang over. I asked for 3-1 where the back stays up when you lift your feet but of.course I didn't get that. My chair almost lays down when I elevate my legs. There was a thump when the lift of the chair went down. I numberously contacted Med Mart. The side of the chair is separating from the main chair. The material is ripped and you feel the metal protruding through. Now the motor has gone out. I purchased a Spring Tilt-in-space wheelchair for my hemiplegic father, and the the tilt-is-space lever (plastic) broke on the very first pull, rendering the chair useless. I contacted MedMart's customer service, sent then pictures and I have not reached resolution 4 weeks later. As a result, we cannot transfer my father to the chair, and it keeps him absolutely in his bed. MedMart just says that they are working with their technical people, and after 5 emails, there is no end in site to helping my father with a new part for his wheelchair.
