So I went to a coffee shop down the road to kill time. After not hearing anything from them after 2 hours, I went back to check in only to be told that there it would be another 1.5 hour wait. (I was also told there were 3 people ahead of me in line - not sure how that makes it an 1.5 hour wait!) I left and went home after that. I never got a text or call from them all night. I was sent to a Walgreens 6 miles away and was told that was the only one open. I get there and the pharmacy is closed. I call back to MedSpring and speak to a male who told me I was at the wrong Walgreens and sent me to another one 2 miles down the street. He then said "the address is on your paperwork" and I said what paperwork, I went to the front and asked the girl and she said the prescription was sent over and I didn't need anything else. I get to the new location (walgreens) and was told they don't have my prescription. Now I'm frustrated. I call back to MedSpring and a lady answered and told me that my profile shows they sent my prescription to a CVS?!?! Beyond annoyed. Story gets better, I call back MedSpring and they said they are sending the prescription to Walgreens. Walgreens said that the prescription was sent to cvs and since they are closed, they can't transfer the prescription to bill my insurance so I'll have to pay out of pocket.

i've gone to this urgent care over the years. the wait time varies but is often long…read more I appreciate being able to email them my health history and medication list, as both are long & complex. I think my doing that may be why the Dr who saw me took me seriously, (i saw he had printed out my health history and had highlighted things in it) and spent more time with me than others have. I was super anxious, wayyyyg overtired, and experiencing very intense restless leg (and other parts of my body) syndrome with many forceful spasms, all my muscles in my body were tightly clenched and i couldn't get them to relax and I was also in a lot of pain (this was due to a recent medication change, and my having a bad reaction to it), which I told them. So, at first I was disappointed because Dr. Joe told me that they couldn't give me muscle relaxers bc they would amplify the effects of the drug i was on that I was badly reacting to, so I felt like crying because i didn't know what to do, how to get help. Dr. Joe recommended I go back to my original dosage of the medication, and took the time to show me stretches i could do, and recommended that I take pedialyte or coconut water, and use arnica cream. i followed his advice, got the arnica tablets for leg cramps (i took 6) and the arnica cream for arthritic relief, which i rubbed all over myself. i drank coconut water and went back to my usual dosage of the medication, and did stretches and doing these things worked; got a full 8 hrs of sleep and only had a few leg spasms the whole night! my muscles feel relaxed now, and I am super grateful for that. I appreciate Dr. Joe listening and taking me seriously and recommending all he did, bc i am now back to my normal level of poor health, which is so much less bad than it was before Dr. Joe's help. Emailing health histories and med lists really may have made the difference here, i'm always going to do that in the future. Their email: occmed.pr@texasmedclinic.com

Reckless and Dangerous Experience at Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care…read more I scheduled an appointment through the Baylor Scott and White app, believing I would receive care at a clinic that was fully part of the Baylor Scott and White network. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn they did not have access to the Baylor Scott and White system. Even more confusing, the building only had signage for Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care. There was no mention of NextCare or any indication that this was operated by a third party. From a patient's perspective, there was no reason to assume this was anything but a regular Baylor Scott and White facility. I came in with intense lower abdominal pain. During the brief evaluation, the provider stated it could be my appendix. That alone should have triggered immediate escalation, lab testing, or at minimum a referral to the emergency room. Instead, I was sent home with nothing but a prescription for a muscle relaxer. There were no labs, no imaging, and no follow-up instructions. I was in the same amount of pain I came in with, but now with a medication that could have masked the symptoms of a serious emergency. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts. About fifteen minutes later, I went to the Baylor Scott and White Clinic on Slaughter. The staff there took my condition seriously and quickly referred me to the emergency room. A CT scan confirmed I had acute appendicitis. I underwent emergency surgery to have my appendix removed later that day. Had I followed the guidance of the first provider and taken the muscle relaxer to rest at home, my appendix could have ruptured. That kind of delay could have led to a life-threatening infection. This was not just a poor experience. It was dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm. The most concerning part is that the provider openly acknowledged the possibility of appendicitis but still made the decision to send me home without running a single test. That is unacceptable. Masking the pain of a potentially fatal condition rather than investigating it further shows a complete lack of clinical judgment. I will be speaking with a patient ombudsman and formally submitting a complaint to Baylor Scott and White leadership. The fact that their app directed me to this location and their name is on the building means the care that happens there reflects directly on them. Patients should not be misled into thinking they are receiving Baylor Scott and White care when they are not. There needs to be full transparency about who is providing care and what services are actually available at the location. This experience was extremely unsettling. I trusted the Baylor Scott and White name and almost suffered the consequences of that trust being misplaced. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and as a call for change within the system. Patients deserve competent, transparent, and safe medical care. I nearly did not receive it.

When they say Express clinic, they mean express. I've never had a long wait there. The office is clean, well run and every staff member is incredibly competent. I've received nothing short of the best quality care here and am so thankful for it's existence! Their hours of operation are wonderful and really easy for busy working people. I've gone there on a weekend or a night after work, I really appreciate them! I feel like the nurse practitioners are thorough, quick and I feel fully taken care of before leaving. They will even run tests in real time and get you the results as soon as possible if they can. I highly recommend if you need quick and good care!

5/5 Experience at CareNow Urgent Care in Austin…read more While visiting Austin for a bachelorette trip, I had a bit of an unexpected accident at the lake. I accidentally kicked a (thankfully off) boat propeller while swimming and ended up with a pretty deep laceration on my right foot. As soon as I could, I made my way to CareNow Urgent Care; and I'm so grateful I did. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly helpful. The receptionist quickly got me checked in and even looked up my insurance from California. Although I'll need to submit the bill myself, they gave me all the information I needed to request an itemized receipt right away, which made the process much easier. Dr. Estela Mota Garcia took care of me, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, attentive, and gentle throughout the procedure. She made sure my foot was completely numb before stitching it up. I was also given a tetanus shot since I wasn't up to date, and they prescribed me an antibiotic to pick up the same day; which gave me peace of mind as I continued my trip. No one wants to end up in urgent care, especially on vacation, but this visit was efficient, compassionate, and left me feeling genuinely cared for. Thank you to everyone at CareNow for turning an unfortunate moment into a positive experience. Until next time, Austin!
