So, I have yet to write a Yelp review but nearly two months later my hair is still a mess. So I am VERY particular about my hair (especially when it comes to cuts) as I have very fine hair and not every style works with my hair especially LAYERS. So I heard great things about this salon and decided to try it. They recommended Hannah to me, so I went to her. Basically, at the beginning of the cut we talked about what I wanted specifically, and how I did NOT want layers and how it would NOT work at all with my hair, we even laughed about it. But somehow, I ended up with MASSIVE layers in my hair and it literally looks like I have two different cuts, long in the back and short in the front. I am still upset and I can tell that this will take a very long time to grow out and look thicker like it used to. My hair is now thinned (and its already thin) and just looks bad. Update: Its been 14 months since that haircut and I STILL cannot grow out these awful uneven layers. I am beyond livid. I don't know how this woman is employed at this salon. Update #2 as of 2/28/18: Still mad about this, my hair will never grow it out because it's too unhealthy to grow. I went to Meche because my colorist in NYC referred my to one of her stylist friends here. I came in with my exact Redken formula in hand having had this color done many times before. The salon itself is super posh even though there was maintenance being done while I was there including drilling and other obnoxious noises which caused one lone dog to bark. Its lofty and airy which natural lighting which allows everyone to check out everyone else. There was a lot of this going on. It didn't seem too pretentious though everyone is eager to watch Tracey's work on some want to be or over the hill BH housewife. I stayed to get my color done twice since the first time didn't come out as hoped. I didn't end up loving my color and I thought for sure I would walk out with nothing short of amazing. Chris Greene is absolutely fantastic for color. I'm a brunette with lots of blonde highlights. I was a Marie Robinson devotee for many years in NYC (at Sally Hershberger and then at her salon) and then a Justin Anderson loyalist (at Chris McMillan) in LA. Both excellent. When Justin went out of town, I let a friend/hairdresser highlight my hair. Bad decision. I emergency-called Meche and they set me up with Chris, who not only fixed my color flawlessly but made my hair look maybe the best it has ever been. I'm not only relieved, I feel really gorgeous. Tracey is the best colorist in LA. Hell, on earth. Period. Probably Mars too. She's the Queen and you are beyond lucky if you get her to tint your tresses. A true master. Red is her specialty, but she can do anything. Colorists from all over the world come to Tracey for training and classes. Her assistants are amazing too....kind, funny, efficient, helpful....everyone who works at the salon are at their best. The vibe in the salon is great. It's a beautiful space, always busy, lively and the music is good without commercials (I'm sorry, but commercials drive me cray cray). And I don't know if there's some Guinness Book of World Record™ for Most Impressive Magazines at a Salon, but if so, Meche would get it. In sheer volume, variety and freshness...all the latest issues of all mags you'd want to read. (My last salon had 2 8-month old Vogues and a couple of Gourmet Magazines with half the pages ripped out.) And there is zero attitude, which is hard to find in a LA salon with endless A list celeb clients. They never make you feel like the nobody you are. Just go already. Tip #1: The massage therapist Terra Hiroyuki is the real deal. Get a neck and shoulder rub or reflexology while you wait. Tip #2: The Latina women with the food basket always hits the spot. The food is fresh, tasty and affordable. I get the pomegranate seeds or the mango. Tip #3: Love the green or mint iced tea. Tip #4: If you can't get in or Tracey is out of town, Michelle and Chris are amazing colorists too. Let me start by saying I am EXTREMELY picky about my hair. It's my pride & joy so it's hard for me to trust someone else with it completely. I moved to Los Angeles over 6 months ago and still hadn't seen anyone about my hair because I was too nervous. But it had gotten waaaay too long and I desperately needed a big haircut, so I started looking around. I cannot recommend Jesse highly enough. He's incredible! I had a few pictures I brought with me that were all a little different, but judging from those pictures he somehow knew exactly what I wanted. It ended up being 9 inches that we cut off and I couldn't be happier! I haven't had hair this short in a very long time and I am absolutely in love with the way it looks! I LOVE MY COLOR done by the Fabulous Michelle Pugh Have been going to her for the past 10 years and I love this new location the vibe is bight and airy with lot's of natural light, everyone is sweet and totally nice here. Michelle does color on most of Hollywoods A list celeb's so I always feel so special that her artistic eye and talented hands work magic on my hair. They carry many amazing boutique lines such as Leonor Greyl this line is all natural and they have this really delicious smelling body and hair oil that is made from magnolia it is simply divine. read more

I need to post a decent photo now that I've got a haircut I love. My mother has been at me for years to go to her stylist Adrian for a cut, but not having been in LA all that long, the small jump in price involved in moving to Meche was hard to swallow. How irksome, that once again she's right! Amazingly talented stylist Adrian spent quite a long time shaping my overgrown, damaged hair into a cut that has wash and wear style, doesn't frizz, and is face flattering. I'd been growing out my hair and of course getting tired of the length as soon as it got as long as my goal. I didn't think my long hair could be so tamed and manageable just because of a good cut. Adrian did not mess around--the man has unbelievable technique (aside from being kind and just all around lovely). I couldn't be happier with the result. I'm actually a bit in awe, because although I've always known a good cut should hang a certain way and grow out beautifully, in spite of seeing quite a few high-end stylists over the years, I've never had someone actually achieve it until seeing Adrian. One thing about this salon--it is busy. You're paying for the skill of the stylists, not the ambiance. It was apparently a slow day when I was there but it seemed packed to me-someone in every chair and a few minute wait for a sink to wash hair pre-cut. Salon Benjamin where I do color is actually more upscale in spite of the BH address of Meche, but hey,we're going there for results, and the salon is still perfectly pleasant. Actually, the matter-of-fact, sans attitude vibe is something greatly appreciated. So happy to have finally found a master stylist! read more

I love, love, love this salon. I have traveled the world going to every who's who salon. I came in this horrible yellow level 10 blonde. I have been blonde for 8 years. Every time I tried to go brown. No one could do dimension, and it looked muddy. I follow Tracey Cunningham on instragram and I found this amazing photo of Jessica Biel on her insta. So then I started stalking Meche. I narrowed it down to two colorists and then emailed Meche explaining exactly what I was after. Francesca was amazing and took time answering my questions. Adriana. Is. The .Best. Handsdown. Not only is she a genuinely nice person , but she listened to what I wanted. I've had Tracey highlight my hair twice now, she just does such an amazing job. My last colorist put my hair into a rut and the color just looked flat. Tracey is truly an artist. My hair looks so natural, even as it grows out it still looks awesome. Unfortunately I don't live in LA so I can't get my hair highlighted that often (I refuse to get my hair done where I currently live...). But, even after going 5 months between the two highlights, it still looked good. Granted, my hair is blonde anyways, but usually with other colorists, they would make it too blonde up top so it would grow out and look bad. Tracey knows what she is doing and doesn't do the same thing on everyone, she looks at your hair and does exactly what it needs and nothing more!!! I got my hair cut last time by Alissa and it was such a fabulous cut!!! It looked fabulous right away and now, a month later it still looks great. The salon itself is very stylish and modern. This place is top notch! Moving to a new city, one predicament I always find myself in is finding a stylist/colorist. I decided to save up the money to go to a better salon with more talent and skill, than to be a repeat customer of a less adequate shop. Sarah Connor did a fabulous job on my hair, as I had longer locks and a darker color that I wanted to refresh by going back to more of my natural light brown. Her and team did a great job, and for the first time felt like I was at ease with a new regime. She listened to what I had in mind, and then took her artistry of hair and knocked it out of the park. Sarah mentioned having a blog, and asking if I was ok with showing the transformation online, and was happy to do so. You can see from her work how talented she is, in case this review doesn't spell it out well enough yelpers. And then, I spun my chair around to Stacey for a cut. She and I vibed well, as we both were fresh off the boat from east coast moves. I needed something fresh, still wanting to keep my length, and so we opted for the lob "long bob". I seriously have never loved my hair more. Because of my curls, the cut angles my face and looks good weather its super curly or I use an iron (flat or curling), and can manage to still pull it back in a ponytail. The upkeep is simple for both color and cut, as more time has passed before I would usually go back, and my hair looks just as great as the day it was cut/colored. Both Sarah and Stacey listened to what I sort of wanted, and took it to a new level. Sticking with this shop, unless my gypsy ways take me elsewhere outside of LA. read more

I've been to many of the "trendy" salons in Los Angeles, but Neil Weisberg is the snootiest and most patronizing stylist I've EVER had, bar none. I could tolerate the condescension if he were a superior stylist, but alas... a mediocre cut, to boot. Not sure how he became a celebrity stylist, but he should count his lucky stars. He didn't even blow my hair dry himself, instead delegating it to an assistant and instructing him to give a blow-dry that will make "the housewife feel glamorous." I'm not even a housewife -- I'd just had a baby, but I do happen to have a very good job -- but, regardless of my work status, the way he said it was ridiculously rude and condescending. Not to mention the exorbitant price. Do NOT recommend Narcissistic Neil, to say the least. read more

Colorists have to take their clients outside to check and see if they look right in daylight. Mêche, please fix this so your talented colorists can properly do their work at their stations. I've been seeing Adrianna for my color for several years. I followed her from her last salon to Meche. She is definitely a master colorist. She knows her stuff. My blond hair has never looked better. I love her technique of boliage. This is where she paints the color on my hair, using plastic wrap & cotton balls in between. My hair grows out looking very natural. & last much longer then foils. I see Joseph for my haircut. He is fabulous with his sheers & not bad on the eyes. I will continue to see him. He also styles my hair really nice! As for the salon, it's always packed, full of energy. Great BH vibe! Very clean, they use the best products on the market. It's usually easy to book last minute appointments. There is valet parking in back. They offer lattes, iced tea, just about whatever you'd like to drink. They're is usually a celeb or few getting there locks worked on. Great salon! I went here twice. It was the worst experience of my life. Having grown up in the neighborhood I always look for the best of the best. They ruined my life ait. For $800 per visit, I should've demanded a refund. My new colorist and stylist saw me and apologized for what Meche did. It was a complete waste of time and way too much money for nothing. Chris Greene is the best! A genius with colour. I recently considered flying to LA from Scotland just to get my hair fixed by him! The more I talk to other colourists the more I realise just how intuitive and artistic Chris is. I am so happy to have experienced perfect hair colour but it also means that nobody can live up to it :-( I arrived at Meche last year with a yellowy blonde over-processed mess after several futile colour corrections. I felt immediately at ease with Chris and he also understood what I wanted straight away. An exceptional skill and so rare! I walked out with a perfect creamy blonde with so much beautiful natural tone. It was completely seamless. My hair had been previously foiled to death all the way to the root but after Chris and his talented assistant Jacob (who I believe now works with Tracey Cunningham) got their hands in it it looked it like it had grown out in the most natural and perfectly sunkissed way. Oh I miss that beachy blonde hair! :-) I had an amazing experience with Chris but this review applies to the entire Salon. I follow a lot of the Meche stylists and colourists on Instagram and am just in awe of the passion, skill and constant desire to learn and improve. A big shout out to Tracey Cunningham who has inspired so many people! Seriously her assistant Jacob Schwartz is so talented! I am in love with Chris Greene and his assistant Jacob. In love is an understatement. I am a natural brunette but I've been "blonde" forever. I have very thick, very long, naturally wavy hair. I also have more hair than 2 people combined...it's kind of ridiculous. Unfortunately/fortunately my former hair dresser was not delivering the look I wanted which was more of natural blonde with bright blonde ends. Think Lauren Conrad and Blake Lively. I was so unhappy with my lack-luster hair but thankfully I found Chris! Over the years I have tried different salons and I've seen everything on my hair from tiger stripes, to orange, and even went back to being brunette. I have always liked my hair because I have a lot of it but I've never been excited to get my color done or to really go to the salon because I never really walk out feeling that pretty or impressed...until now. This is why I am in love with Chris! I went into the salon for a consult and ended up being his hair model for an upcoming class he was teaching. I literally won the hair lottery. It's been 3 days since Chris did my color and I can't stop looking at my hair because it's so pretty!!! I can't even explain how excited and happy I am to have found Chris. I totally understand why people get addicted to going to the salon- I want more of Chris's magic! Not only is Chris extremely talented and truly an artist at his craft, but he is such a warm, genuine, and caring person. Walking into a high end salon can feel very overwhelming, especially a salon of this caliber, but Chris makes you feel so special and he really does care about you and your hair. Was walking by on my way home and stopped in to see if they had any appointments available that morning. Was booked right away with Dawn (color specialist). She touched up my roots, and the whole process took a little over an hour. I've had my hair done for YEARS now (highlighting my dirty-blonde base into platinum), and never had such a quick and amazing experience. Dawn painted on my highlights very quickly (no foils, which I actually loved), and treated my hair to restore it back to the blonde it had been missing. Her stylist was awesome too (and great at massaging during shampoo!). 5+ stars if I could. Amazing customer service. Trendy atmosphere. QUALITY COLORING. Partial highlight = $225, but totally worth it. Coming back for sure! read more

They got me in right away and I've been enjoying the best haircut of my life for months now, it's grown out so well that I'm probably not going to cut my hair more than twice a year now. I got my hair done by dawn it was one my worst experience ever. I went in for a balayage and came out with orange hair and sharp roots look like I had bleached it myself. I showed her a inspiration picture that SHE DID I understand I won't get the same exact result specially because my hair was dark but I told her we can leave it darker with no problem well I ended up paying $800 for the worst hair ever. Then I went back to have her at least fix what I paid for and I ended leaving with just plain dark brown hair! read more

Mario straightened out my unruly hair! Nine zero refered me to him for my keratin treatment. He has a perfect outdoor set up for the treatment (which was very important to me, as I am very sensitive to the chemicals) I was in and out in two hours, my hairs never been so shiny and soft. After a couple days I washed it And I was shocked that none of the curl still persisted. Such a game changer! read more

Holy hell guys! Meche is the place to get your hair did. I've been going to Adrian for years and he rocks it out with my favorite layers. Watching him work is pretty inspiring. He's an artist. The time flies by while you're in your seat while you laugh and chat. He's very warm and really listens to what you want and gives so you something exponentially better than what you imagined! This past appointment I made last minute before my move to NYC and luckily got recommended to Miles since Adrian wasn't available. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard and the blow out he gave me was EVERYTHING! It was really amazing to see my hair layered and styled in a way I would not have chosen for myself. My review is long overdue. I came back in October. I love this place. Mainly because of Chris Greene and his wonderful assistant Jacob. I came in after not having my hair or highlights done in almost a year. I was pregnant so I did not get my hair done during that time. After I had my baby I needed to get my color redone in the worse possible way. So after reading reviews and following Chris on Instagram I decided to try him out. He is the kindest person I have ever met. He made me feel so comfortable. We started with a hair consultation and from there he went straight to business. He touched up my roots so they matched wit the rest of my hair color and then he began the highlights. I loved his technique. He did an upwards brushing motion on my ends making the highlights look very natural and sun kissed. Jacob his assistant was the nicest guy too. We laughed and joked the whole time I was there. I also asked for them to use Olaplex on my hair which is God sent. Made my hair feel so healthy and soft even after adding blonde to my hair. The prices are definitely high here. But you get what you pay for. This is a very upscale salon so don't except Fantastic Sam's prices. Chris is also a stylist to many celebrities. I paid around $600 for my base color and highlights. It was well worth it to me for color that I love. I will definitely be back to this place and definitely back to Chris. Thank you again! read more
