Famous Santa Maria Tri Tip Sandwich with mixed vegetables

I came here on a Tuesday and it was the perfect day to get a sandwich because they only serve vegetables as a side item on Tuesday. The tritip sandwich was delicious and the vegetables were gone in seconds. Yes, they were that good!

    Brisket 80% FAT

If I could give this establishment, again THE GRILL not the market, a 0 star or negative if I would. I was foolish to try it again after speaking to the manager Nancy last week based on the review below. But I did today as I was in the area looking at homes and wanted to give it a second chance. I spoke with Sara, who was a manager on site. I told her Nancy asked that I come in. She was well aware of the situation as she read my previous Yelp review from last week. She was very nice and apologetic. She offered a refund or anything on the menu. The gesture was sweet of her. I chose to give them another chance and ordered food. Big mistake! I ordered the brisket sandwich, which she highly recommended. This time I tried the macaroni salad and a side of chili beans for my mother. I thanked Sara for letting me sample the chili beans unlike the staff the week prior. When I got home, the sandwich was 80% FAT ... I kid you not! When I broke the sandwich in half, all you could see was clear fat. I don't know if she prepared it (I hope not) or if one of the staff members prepared it, but NO ONE should be served this type of meat. It was probably the worst brisket I have seen in my life! Each slice should not have 80% of fat. Every single piece! I'll let the pictures judge for themselves. Yelpers - I hate to put places as such on blast, but this is a shame. I called to speak to Sara and the same girl from my previous review answered the phone. She advised Sara had left for the day and Kiersten was the manager on site. I was there an hour ago! Kiersten refused to speak to me - the girl asked for my name and number for a call back. I asked, "so there's literally no one to speak with?" ... I even offered to hold as I wanted to correct the wrong. Her response was I can take your phone number. Whom ever this girl is ... she's RUDE and should not interact with customers. I was hoping to change my review to a 4 or 5 . NOPE! Anyway, I will not be going back to this establishment ... well the GRILL part - whatsoever! I did like the macaroni salad and beans.

I had the ribeye sandwich with grilled onions and bell peppers with a side of bbq. I also had the onions rings, it was a delicious sandwich. The ribeye was tender and plenty of it. The onion rings were also good left me wanting more. Definitely a good stop for lunch. The service was fast and friendly.

    Our Christmas Steaks

I went here to pick up 3 filet steaks for our Christmas Dinner. Asked for 3 approx. 10 ounce steaks because I wanted everyone to have a really good one. The employee who waited on me was an early to mid 20s tall thin white male with short wavy black hair. They were kind of busy and by the time I got to where the filets were he already had them bagged. I guess I'm too trusting and didn't ask to pick them. The steaks were almost $26 a pound. The total price was almost $52. When I opened the paper wrapper on Christmas Day , I saw two pretty nice looking steaks and one that looked terrible like an end piece that should have been used for hamburger. So my wife and I shared one, my son ate the other one and we fed the terrible one to our dog. I'll probably go to Whole Foods from now on. It seems some of the meat market employees don't give a damn about their customers. I hope the boss reads this but I doubt it will matter. Looking at other reviews, I don't see any responses from this business regarding any problems and wanting to make it right for the customer. Merry Christmas, thanks Meat Market. I'm attaching a couple pictures. What do others who see this think. Would you be mad?

We have come here for years to the actual Market (store) portion inside the building for our family. Fresh meats, veggies, delish sides, breads, crackers, cheeses...and they have a nice variety of specialty items too! Perfect for making platters/charcuterie boards for parties, or just meals for the family. We love grabbing sandwiches at the grill outside, and with this visit, our also family stopped by for some quick and tasty goodies! Kids loved the corn dogs, fries, and pilaf. I enjoy so many items such as their pasta salad and their grilled veggies you can add to sandwiches. There is seating outside or you can take things to go. Honestly, this visit was cheaper than a traditional fast food stop, and it made the kids super happy. Quality makes a difference. Fries were fire!!! Everyone is always super friendly and helpful for both the inside market area, as well as the outside grill area too! We went inside and the kids got to reach in and pick out their favorite character ice creams to purchase, & enjoy with their lunch! Tip: If you want amazing chicken kebab, already skewered up to grill at home, this place is a must! They use the best marinade, and have for years. They sell a variety of meats to cook at home, and you can also buy a tri-tip already cooked too! Soooo many reasons to go back again soon, and we will!

    Smoked chicken got overly smoked.

The picture speaks for itself. Chicken was burnt, jerky-dry, and tasteless. If I were the business owner, I would not be serving this.

Lunch combo. Tri tip sandwich side and soda

There are two meat markets. One in fresno and one in Clovis. I drive from tower all the way to Clovis. It is waaaaaaay better than Fresno's. Trust me. The fries are the crinkle. The give you a ton. The best!!! The best ranch. You have to order some for your fries. Tri tip sandwich is great. Mr Pibb soda. A big plus. They are pretty quick with getting food out. Fries are always fresh. No indoor seating. Only outside. Definitely a weekly trip for lunch!

I have been getting Meat Market sandwiches ever since I was younger and they always hit! This past time I went back home, I got the meal which comes with a sandwich, side, and drink. I always get the lamb shish which also comes with pepper and onions. Although the meal is on the pricey side, they give SO much meat, so I personally think its worth it! The lamb was tender and delicious and the sandwich didn't get soggy which I always love. I got rice pilaf as a side and I always enjoy it as well! I've also tried the tri tip in the past so I could recommend that or the lamb shish, although go earlier in the day for the lamb as they sometimes run out!

But if you are a serious person when it comes to cook outs and grilling you may want to consider getting some meat here. I was surprised to see so many options, the kababs were huge and really stuck out to me. I'm sure they would taste great off the grill. They have a small produce section and carry local wines as well and all types of seasonings. After checking out the store I walked over to the hot food area. I ordered a tritip sandwich combo w home made potato salad. I chose Au ju and bbq for my sauces. Despite all the orders they were getting at the window, the wait time was minimal. I noticed the lady preparing and handing over the orders kept forgetting items and she wasn't too friendly about it. I was no exception - she forgot my potato salad and when I mentioned it to her she didn't believe me and told me to hand over the receipt. Kind of rude. The sandwich was good size and overall tasty. Not too salty. Au ju was way too thick and salty and bbq tasted like kraft bbq. Potato salad was decent. A little too much onion for my liking. I made 2 meals out of it all which means that is a decent value for what I paid. (14.99).

Lastly, these business owners also looked up my phone number in their system after I posted this and tried calling me after 8:30p multiple times over over at home which is a direct violation of privacy. Many better pizza places to give your business to. - Not living up to the hype at all. We ordered a BYO pizza which was decent, actually the best part of the order. The rest fell flat. Cesar salad was absolute garbage. I got the larger salad which was around $15 and I was given a sad salad of old romaine that was mostly the white stem. Which, may I add was going bad and not white it was getting that weird orange-pink looking color. We had the truffle knots which tasted hard and stale. It is reminiscent of when you try to microwave certain bread products and the item because chewy and hard. There was minimal butter/oil to coat them and lightly sprinkled with Parmesan. Total fail. With tip it was around $66 for food that wasn't enjoyable. With tons of other options in the pizza category, this one is not on the list. This would also be considered bad service in my opinion because whoever was in charge of the salad gave poor service. I will add a picture to validate my experience.
