The line at the Portland location wrapped around the block, and after waiting for 20 minutes and not moving, I realized it would be more time efficient to drive 40 minutes to Sandy. I was the only customer in the shop. The employee was unbelievably helpful. I know very little about XC skis and she told me exactly what type of skis, boots, and poles would work best for me. She even googled the width of the tracks at Teacup Nordic to be sure the skis I liked would fit!! I ended up buying a pair of used backcountry skis with bindings already attached for only $100. I would have bought used boots as well for only $20, but they were a teeny bit too small or too big (fantastic condition though). I cannot recommend Next Adventure enough!! Don't bother stopping anywhere else for whatever outdoor needs you have. You'll find the best prices, selection, and customer service at Next Adventure.

To be fair, we were a pretty easy audience and they had a few well-qualified individuals helping us, but they certainly went above and beyond to explain function, form, fit, and cost for our helmets and climbing harnesses, as well as carabiners and tethers. Renting Mountaineering Boots, crampons and ice axe - this was also deceptively easy the first two times, so I was a bit surprised the third time, when they had boots and cramps, but didn't have a rental ice axe on a Thursday. As a nube, I didn't know we were right in the middle of climbing season. I spent about 15 minutes at the climbing desk with Sven(?) and purchased the correct axe for the climb. Sven was super knowledgeable and listened well, which bodes well when safety and efficiency are such a big deal on the mountain. Shopping for a belay parka - I want to sneak up on this, because it may well be a $500 purchase, if and when I pull the trigger. The associate was willing to spend concerted time with me, even when I admitted I was just looking for information. He explained the different fabrics and fills and construction, and talked through the options. Layers, a puffy, and a rain coat have been sufficient so far for me, and he affirmed the belay parka was for specific usage. Still, I will likely purchase it here as opposed to on-line if/when the time comes. I have needed extra carabiners, waterproofing spray, and a sit pad, and the staff has always been knowledgeable and attentive. Good job, Mountain Shop!

Service was prompt, and they had everything we needed, boots, skis, poles for a very affordable early bird value. I'm going to say it was no more than $175 per girl. 2nd. Had the privilege of working with Rob in the ski boots department and he was amazing. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and took his time explaining the process along with any potential costs along the way to avoid any potential surprises. I'd hands down recommend checking out mountain shop in both of these areas. You won't be disappointed.

They have a large lot filled with machinery. If you were a landscaping company or a tree service company they have machines for you to buy. They have grinders, skids, lift trucks and more. The staff is knowledgeable but they are used to dealing with professionals, not so much homeowners.

The quality of this tarp exceeded my expectations and when compared to other tarps on the market I feel this product will hold up well for my application and with the proper care should provide me with years of service...

The zippers can't handle a lot of use, and they'll tell you to take the tent to a canvas repair shop at your expense. The doorway posts have a sharp piece of metal on top that sits in the grommet. When that pops out, it will shred your tent. The pole is also not anchored in, so if a breeze goes against the tent and the pole falls, your tent is toast.

Their work is outstanding and the product lasts. There are no loose stitches. Prices are very reasonable and they can get small batch items back to you within a couple weeks. They do have some items in stock that you can purchase to embroider on, but I often bring my own items. Last time I went in they were saying that there is a shortage on obtaining flex fit hats for wholesale. Something to keep in mind if you would like hats to be embroidered. Also, they text you a proof of your work before completing it. That way you can let them know if you want to make any changes before your product is complete.

They will tell you that they are doing work for huge companies and individuals and you are lucky to have them. Unfortunately for us, we believed them. First, they gave us a timeframe for installation which ended up being much later than they promised which caused us not to have our system in place for a party. Second, the wireless network that they set up had lots of holes in it. Their sales pitch promised that it would be flawless and if it wasn't, there would be no cost to us for making it right. It took them weeks to come out and analyze it and we had to threaten them to get them to show up. Finally they did.They tried to charge us a few thousand dollars more when it didn't work and blamed the house set up for the problem. The truth is they never came out and checked out how our house was set up and as a result, The system didn't work. They did put in more equipment to make it right and then tried to charge us for it. Eventually they wrote it off. But it was a fight every step of the way and the representations they made to us when we bought the system were simply over exaggerated. Third, we bought this service contract where they represented that they would be able to fix any problem that arose within a day. That simply was false. Today, we have not had I our system working for a few days and after they screwed around with it for a while over the Internet, said that they would not be able to get to it until next week. When we reported the representations that they made, they simply said we'll try, but we only have two technicians. If you are reading this note they only have two technicians that can solve problems. And now we are without our system for another week because they can't fix it. In short, these people overpromise and under deliver and overcharge also. Don't go near them. You are forewarned.
