As a California native I had to see what the "Erewhon" of New York City was like. I must say, it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing grocery stores that I have ever seen. Everything was meticulously organized and the staff made us feel welcome. As for the selection they had pretty much everything I was looking for. I got a few snacks as well as the tenders, buffalo cauliflower, and the chicken salad. I enjoyed everything I had, but in particular the chicken salad was very good. I wouldn't say it's the best hot bar food that I've had, but it was certainly better than most. I would most likely come back if I wanted to get some grab and go meals near the area.

Cutely curated posh shop with some very overpriced shakes like Erewohn but small scale. It's a cute joint for a quick lunch and while pastries looked pedestrian I bought a squash soup for $10 which is pretty average for manhattan. They didn't list the coconut milk in the ingredients but it was good! It's definitely a vibe for Tribeca.

Great alternative for a more higher-end grocery experience with lots of different brands and variety. While the pricing might be significantly higher, you are getting quality products. Regarding the hot food and ready-to-go food items; I did not try, so I can't formulate a review on that component. Otherwise, customer service was great and the market was squeaky clean and sanitary.

Picture the $33 lunch from Meadow Lane gourmet provisions: --Warm 12oz Thai squash soup (curry; lemongrass; ginger; delicious). --Chilled, french cut chicken breast grilled (looks pretty; good consistency, but needed salt and better seasoning). --Chocolate bar. Satisfying enough...but I'll be hungry again in 60 minutes. Too expensive for the portion size. I'll be returning to nearby Cafe Clementine and nearby Chopt for lunch.

Prepared foods - almost sold out

Meadow Lane is definitely the bougie grocery store Tribeca needed, but it's got its hits and misses. I stopped by on a weekday evening, which was nice because there was no line, which was a huge plus. However, a lot of the prepared foods were already sold out, which was a little disappointing, especially since I was looking forward to trying more of their options. The store itself is gorgeous. The aesthetics are on point, and you can definitely tell they've invested heavily in making it a beautiful shopping experience. It's sleek, modern, and definitely has that upscale vibe. But with that comes the price tag, which has been the subject of a lot of complaints. Honestly, some things are definitely on the pricier side, but considering the audience they're catering to, I kinda get it. Plus, the overall vibe and the location in Tribeca are factored into the markup. Now, let's talk about the goods. I picked up a few things. The chicken nuggets ($15 before tax) were a letdown, they felt undercooked to me, and honestly, I didn't even finish them. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, but then I saw other reviews online mentioning the same issue with undercooked nuggets, so I'm guessing it's not just a one-off. Not enough condiments either, so they were a little dry, so definitely won't be getting those again. The caramelized onion dip ($14 before tax) was amazing, though. Super delicious and had a good balance of the onions and the creaminess of the dip. I also grabbed a slice of pumpkin cheesecake pie at the cafe, which was good. A few quirks, they were sold out of the cute blue checkered bags, which I was really hoping to snag. Also, the nut milks seemed way overpriced for what they were, but again, I know that's just part of the whole "luxury grocery store" experience. One thing that stood out: the matcha from Montauk General was $74, but honestly, that's just Montauk prices for you, not just Meadow Lane. And yes, they charge for bags (as most NYC shops do), so be prepared for that. Overall, I'll be back to try more of the prepared foods, especially the salad bowls, they looked delicious. But I think I'll be more selective about when I go. This is a fun stop for a special occasion or when you're in the mood for something fancy, but it's not somewhere I'd come for a regular grocery haul.

Pretty cool NYC upscale grocery concept. There is a small selection of prepared foods, fresh and frozen foods and pantry grocery items. There is a small cafe with espresso drinks, coffee and artisan pastries. It's more of a boutique grocery store with a limited selection. Very fancy and modern though. The staff was super nice. My latte was absolutely perfect.

Went with some friends early Sunday morning and avoided the lines. Unfortunately not everything was out yet including the hot foods since it just opened shop. Lots of my friends have been comparing it to Erewhon from the West Coast but I don't think you can compare to the two. Meadow Lane is more like a chic provisions shop in Venice Beach. Reheated the chicken tenders I bought and was pretty good for a fried food reheat. Be prepared to spend some money though if you're doing some serious shopping here. Personally if you never experienced other higher end grocers then you might think this place is the next best thing since sliced bread.

This supermarket is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Super clean and organized. Smaller than I thought, then again I had no idea really what to expect. They are known for some of their hot foods : Chicken tenders, chicken salad ( when I went they were all out) their meatballs and their mac and cheese. I got the mac and cheese and turkey pinwheels. They also have a coffee bar, which seems to be very popular. I did not get any coffee drinks. The fruit and veggies here look very fresh too. There is also pantry items, juices and other drink options too. If you do not like to wait in lines I suggest you go on the early side. They sell out of their chicken salad fast it seems. You are only allowed to get 5 hot food items. Alot of them seem to go fast. Only a certain number of people are allowed at a time. At least, for now since it is pretty brand new. The line to check out was not too bad though even though there are only two registers. But, because they only let a certain number of people in the line goes somewhat fast to check out. I may go back during the week though when it may be a little less crowded and earlier in the day. I never heard of this place until a few days ago on social media. Oh and price wise it is true that it is pretty pricey! I got three prepared meals two containers of pinwheels and the mac and cheese... That is it. With tax and all it came out to be $64.00!

Chicken tenders were subpar and were delivered refrigerator COLD, which does not work if you do not have access to an oven....

Chicken nuggets were $15 and not even cooked properly. The store is using frozen Aramark nuggets and marking them up like 500%.

Do NOT buy the chicken salad. It is absolutely vile. The service was fine but inside feels like a nail salon.

Okay, this saddens me, but I've visited & lived in NYC for decades & have a Trader Joe's burlap bag…read moreolder than the median age of this store's workers. I'm struggling between staying positive & candor: the problem is that the average worker in NYC is less bright than most of the rest of the country. Ouch. I know. But I have encountered this very roughly a hundred times over the years. Sadly, this TJ's follows the above pattern. It's a case-study that perhaps Harvard's business school should analyze: take a great franchise, slowly muck it up by degrading ingredients, fill it with well-meaning folk, and ignore, forgive me, intelligence in the hiring process. I'll only cite recent examples, though I've a treasure trove: [1] no TJ steel cut oats, polite friendly inquiry when it might be re-stocked, answer "discontinued," fully stocked next day after I've bought Bob's Red Mill via walmart.com; [2] all raisins gone in the entire store, again cheerful what's-up? answer "will get in next month," fully stocked next day, ditto w/ walmart.com for organic (!) alternative 1/3 (!!) the price; [3] No skim milk of any variety (organic, reg, lactose-free, or from various ruminants) at 8p, gentle inquiry, "we received more at noon & hope to bring it out," then 1 employee spends all her time exclusively straightening containers at the back of the top shelf. It's important to add that their former great gift of freeing us from reading each set of ingredients like some rejected script for "Portlandia" has now been replaced by their cutting corners that affect our health and their value. Cases in point, albeit there are many: [1] Palm oil has replaced nearly all other oils in hundreds of their products (I'm not one of these crazies, but palm oil is indeed destroying rain-forests and 'extincting' apex species: 25-30M hectares, the size of ARIZONA (!) https://essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/5111/2024/); it's the least healthy oil in widespread use today; but it is CHEAP. [2] Try to find a breakfast cereal without added sugar; there are none; their shredded wheat with sugar-frost coating is cheaper than w/out. [3] The average age of their apples are 9 to 14 months old https://www.rd.com/article/supermarket-apples-10-months-old/; very little of their fruit is genuinely fresh. I've many more examples than these 6, but you get the idea. If you go 2 hours before closing, you must negotiate a phalanx of boxes and employees darting about re-stacking such that it's hard to even move down the aisles. The place is still pretty clean and the employees friendly, but I'm sorry, it's really a dumbed-down version of a formerly great franchise, and I've been to TJs all over CA, in OH, VA, upstate NY, CT, NJ, OR, just to name a few.

We have developed a congenial friendship which was founded on La Fermière yogurts. Emre knows that I price shop so invariably I know when the time is right to buy these delicious yogurts at Eden. I often buy Siggi yogurts as here they are $1.99 each. The ladies - Dolores, Affou, Mamata, Savita, Tofu - at the checkout are friendly, kind and remember customers. A few speak French which I practice with them. Being originally Greek, the Dolmas in the prepared food section, are plump and particularly tasty. It's worth buying a few to take home. Adam looks taciturn but always is kind to me. He is behind the deli counter preparing sandwiches and always gives me a quarter pound of the Jambon de Paris. Miguel and Medina are also here. A loyalty card is worth having and once having accumulated many points I paid the princely sum of $1.61 for a pretty bouquet of roses in assorted colors that cost $11.99. Now that's a steal! Eden Gourmet is the sister supermarket to my beloved sadly closed Eden Gourmet of 14th street. This too is packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, dairy, chicken and meats. A large variety of sparkling waters, frozen entrees, ice creams and assorted temptations are here too. A small bakery has cakes and pastries available. I pop in often to get milk or to see what's new and always to say hello to everyone. I always feel happy coming to Eden Gourmet Marketplace!
