I believe this person is indigenous to the Americas and not Asian, although not 100%. Most other vendors are Asian, with overall good quality and incredible prices. Take the time to find them. The earlier in the day I suspect the fresher the product. International selection and more traditional items familiar to those of US. Many greens today, different squares, several varieties of mango, ginger and galangal, mushrooms, apples, melons, fresh water chestnuts & tomatoes....there was conch and crab also available today, along with some housewares. Bring your backpack, extra bags, cart and/or suitcase. Do not forget our local farmers at farmer's markets but the selection and circumstance may be factors in your visit.

This time I picked up some sapota or sapodilla. I used to eat this fruit back home in India but now that I live here is nice to know there's a place that sells them. I bought 3 lbs of fruit for $15. That seems pricey for the average Joe but these fruit are not available all the time and the quality was good so I couldn't resist.

But they only last 2 weeks from today 5/24/19, so pay the money and get some fresh lychees. The bigger seeded lychees are $6 a pound, then the loose ones are 3 pounds for $10. They said the $6 a pound are sweeter than the free ones. But the small-seeded lychees are the ultimate! Best-tasting lychees-- small-seeded ones! So sweet and full of juicy lychee flavor you cannot get in a can! Also, cherries are really cheap, cheaper than at other fruit stands or Whole Foods. 2 pounds $3!!!! Last week I paid $6.99 a pound at Whole Foods. Guava $5 a pound. Nothing like a sweet guava from Taiwan. Mangoes 2 for $1. Cheaper than at Whole Foods. Bring your cash! I can easily spend $50 no problem. I saw a lady buy 6 bunches of the $15 a pound lychees. Bring yo cash. Not sure if this is the one I go to: Mullberry at Canal.

Pretty awesome spot!!…read more I can speak for the smoothie/juice bar which is an extension of the market area. Based off of first impression this spot is very clean. They have the fruits and veggies ready to go and all of them are bright and fresh. Nothing looked like it had been sitting out. The service was quick and friendly too. They also have free samples of hot apple juice. I tried the one with pomegranate and it was delicious. Literally the most perfect fall treat! What we had: - Yellow Power Smoothie: my husband got this and he says it was really good. It was perfectly balanced and he drank this one pretty quickly! - Build your own Juice: love that they have this option! So helpful when you don't exactly vibe with any of the ones on the menu. I chose one with carrot, orange, and watermelon. The juice was perfectly balanced! I tasted hints of all the components in every sip, not too much of any one ingredient. I would definitely make this my go to spot for juices and smoothies if I lived in the neighborhood. 100% recommend!

They have about 14 different types available (7 juices and 7 smoothies), though you're also able to create your own. We love that they use FRESH everything in each of their recipes! You can literally watch them grab the fruits and veggies needed for your drink as they place them into the juicer/blender. It's very reassuring to see this as you can't always trust fresh ingredients are being used in other places that make smoothies. When ordering a smoothie, they'll ask what you want for the base. The options are Apple juice, coconut water, almond milk or water. We almost always choose coconut water as it's a great source of electrolytes AND tastes absolutely delicious with any of the smoothies using tropical fruits. They also have a delicious Apple cider tea! It's always out (hot and fresh), they have about 4 different varieties and they allow free samples. I love the clove and ginger flavor and my husband loves the ginger honey flavor. You can purchase this as an individual cup or as a half gallon or gallon option. I can't wait for autumn to hit as this tea is PERFECT for a chilly autumn day! And I plan to purchase in bulk to keep at home so I can indulge without having to walk so far every time I want it. Our new Sunday ritual is to buy our produce and then grab a juice/smoothie from here. We love coming here and I'm sure you will too!

The prices, which once were the big lure, are also longer quite as good as they were. As some here have noted, they engaged in outright price-gouging during the COVID pandemic, which I found to be obnoxious. But then the quality of the vegetables steadily declined. Perhaps it was a bad supplier or whatever. And they weren't as cheap as they used to be. The service, while never good, has turned rude, and worse at the fish counter. My old fish store on Grand closed so I started going here for fish. At first I didn't mind when "locals" were waited on ahead of me, but frankly it became irritating after a time. I'm not sure it's legal, to be honest. And the prices of fish are not as good, a buck more expensive per pound, than other fish merchants. The rat i saw on my last visit clinched it for me. Goodbye, Hong Kong Supermarket.

Their roma tomatoes are so much riper than TJoe's as well. In addition to produce, they have lots Asian goods that you can pick up without going to Chinatown such as sesame oil, curries, rice noodles, etc etc. This is a family owned place that also runs Atlantic Fruit & Vegetable.
