    The mead hall dining room

We stopped at Mead Hall during an crazy storm at Epic. We arrived just in time before the crowd, our food was fresh and the Nordic fries were delicious. My family loved the burger and I loved the mead wine. Our family are huge fans How To Train Your Dragon and the interior exterior decor was great. This was a nice option other than usual fried food within a theme park.

The salad is amazing. It's got a lot going on. Oats. Kale. Walnuts. Blueberries. Radishes. Red cabbage. So many tastes and textures. I'd order this again and again. It's quick service, and the staff is super helpful. The decor is very on theme. I think this was one of my favorite bites in Epic Universe

We stopped in for lunch. Order from the QR code with quick service for food to the table. We had the Berserkers meatballs which were very tasty with roasted root vegetable mash. My friend had the Sullen sea sandwich which was just ok. The ancient grains were really hard and not edible. They have freestyle machines for your soda choice.

If you're a How to Train Your Dragon fan, you're going to love the Mead Hall at Epic Universe. The décor is incredibly detailed--every corner truly feels like you've stepped into the Viking world of Berk. We started with the Nordic Harvest Salad, which was a pleasant surprise. The portion was big, the flavors were fresh and tasty, and the price felt very reasonable for a theme park. For our main dish, we shared the Thawfest Platter, and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with wild berry BBQ-glazed chicken drumsticks, grilled salmon, sausage links, roasted carrots, Cipollini onions, Nordic fries, and a variety of dipping sauces. Everything was well-seasoned, cooked perfectly, and the mix of flavors made it really fun to share. Another perk: no reservation needed. We walked in, picked a table we liked, scanned the QR code to order, paid, and the food was brought right to us. Super convenient and stress-free. Overall, the Mead Hall is a must-visit--great theming, hearty food, and a smooth, modern dining experience. If you love How to Train Your Dragon, this place will make you feel right at home in Berk.

Mobile app only ordering, might be a bit interesting to handle. Food was good but prices are resort, so prepare for some sticker shock. Ambiance was strong, as befitting a theme park.

Mead Hall in the Isle of Berk leans fully into its How to Train Your Dragon fantasy, a rowdy Viking mess hall where characters wander through like they own the place and will interact with guests. The tables are locked down with QR codes so you order everything through the Universal app. It's a strange mix of theme‑park chaos and modern efficiency, but it works. We went for the sausage links and the meatballs. Straightforward, hearty plates that won't change your life but absolutely hit the spot. Nothing flashy, nothing trying too hard, just good, tasty food served in a space that feels alive and loud and a little ridiculous in the best way.

Mead hall is the great dining hall at the back of Isle of Berk inside Epic Universe. It's themed to a grand dining hall, where vikings would gather and celebrate. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Universal always does their theming so well. It really feels like I've stepped into the past when walking in. This establishment, like many of the other restaurants within Epic Universe, has an option for mobile ordering. You just order your food on the Universal app and scan the QR code on your table. I wanted to eat like a Viking so I went with something meaty. I found the turkey wings a unique dish, especially for theme park food. Our server brought it to us within about 10 mins. These wings are gigantic! I was expecting it to be bigger than chicken wings but wow! They were almost the size of my forearm. The wings, along with the barbeque sauce were excellent. The skin was a little crispy and the wings were not dry. The dish came with a baked potato, onions, and carrots. These were just as good as the wings. I'll warn you, you might get your hands dirty eating these, but that's okay. We're vikings here! I will definitely be back for the yaknog!

Mead Hall is visually stunning and absolutely nails the fantasy. The Isle of Berk area is enchanting, immersive, and honestly one of the prettiest spaces in Epic Universe. You feel transported the second you walk in. Now... the service. Or rather, the idea of service. There are no waiters, no napkins, and the app meant to replace human interaction was completely useless. You're mostly on your own, Viking-style. Food was hit or miss. The turkey wings were chewy and tough. The carrot hash was a lot of chilly hash and too much carrot. Potatoes were good, comforting, and reliable. Meatballs were solid and enjoyable. Salmon was the size of a deck of cards, but not overcooked. Despite the operational chaos, it was still a good time. The atmosphere does most of the heavy lifting here, a nice and cool respite and it's strong enough that you forgive a lot. Mead Hall is more about vibes than dining excellence, magical setting, uneven execution, but still worth experiencing at least once just to soak it all in. Beautiful place. Questionable logistics. Still glad we went.

As I mentioned in previous reviews we were very impressed with the food at Epic Universe, but of all the lands the food at How to Train your Dragon really stands out. Mead Hall is the main dining hall in the land and it really takes you back to the Viking era, with the lighting in the hall feeling like it's candle light. For the main meal we ordered their Hooligan's sausage links. The smoked sausage were very tasty and texture had the right snap. The sides included herb garlic miniature potatoes and roasted veggie. For dessert my daughter was dying to try the Stormfly's Catch of the day which is a chocolate mousse fish on top of cereal crumble. The mousse is encased in an orange sweet shell and the mousse was delicious while the crumble had fruity pebbles flavor. The whole family enjoyed the food and ambience of the Mead Hall!

Like many of the sit down eateries you will see in EPIC this one is done so so well. It was part of Berk Universe and was so so well done. So much detail went into every part of this restaurant that I felt immersed in the land. We opted to sit in the back where there were two high back chairs and a bench and it was so cool. For the food I ordered the turkey wings and OMG so good! They had a bbq glaze that was just enough and so tasty. I tore my wings up! My sons had the salmon and the ohter had a kids burger and kids mac and cheese bites and nothing was left on their plates. It wasn't freezing in here either as some of the restaurants are themed that way in Dark Universe. The staff was prompt and friendly. Really nothing bad to say about this place!

This place is for those who want to be a Viking for the day! An amazing experience and ambiance! We came in with a large group of 13 and were seated pretty quickly after being asked if we could split the group, which we didn't mind at all. We mobile ordered on the app and our food came out quickly. We tried many dishes on the menu, and everything was super delicious and for a reasonable price. I had to try the mead, which was so yummy and fun that they went with a boysenberry and black currant mead instead of the traditional type. After being outside in the cold, some sausage links and mead really hit the spot. If you really love the How to Train Your Dragon universe, this is THE spot to eat! It's more than just theme park food, it's an experience that truly immerses you in the world of Berk. So happy that we chose to eat here!

    Thawfest Platter

The theming of this dining hall is spot on. It makes you feel like Vikings living in Berk gathering for a meal. We ordered the Thawfest Plater & Yaknog drink. It's too much food for the 2 of us. It would've been perfect for 3 people. Taste wise, it's standard, nothing bad. Wish the sausage has mozzarella inside. The drumstick tastes better when dip in the bbq sauce. The pesto on the salmon def makes it taste better. You can either mobile order and say you're here, or get a table then order from the QR code. They'll bring the food to your table. As a fan of How To Train Your Dragon, I'm glad I went eat here.

The ambience was really good. Very indicative of how to train your Dragon aesthetic. The food was incredible. We had salmon with vegetables and it was very well prepared. This is a great option for a full meal when in epic universe. The service is really fast and the staff are very kind and quick.

It was 30 minutes from our hotel, so I was hopeful that it wouldn't disappoint! We got there relatively early (20 minutes after they opened for the day), and nobody else was there, so that was kind of awkward, as was being told to order from a kiosk (or use the QR code at the table), rather than give my order to a human. But the kiosk allowed us to kind of 'shop' before making our decision, so that was good. Since we were the only customers, everything came out fast and fresh (in fact, his came out a few minutes before mine, so I had to steal his fries until mine came out, lol) Hubs got the Ultimate Smash Burger and Fries, which was delicious. Soft bun, big burger, delicious fries. I got the Chicken Dippers, and y'all - they were HUGE! And you got SIX of them! Well-seasoned and well-fried, with a flavor that I know I've had before (spice-wise), but I couldn't put my finger on. I ended up only eating two of the tenders, and brought the other 4 home for leftovers. The staff were all super-friendly and attentive. They gave me a box/bag for my leftovers, and bussed our trays when we were done. Seating is ALL tables, so if you're a "Booth Person" you might be bummed. But the seats were comfy, even on a bigger tushie like mine. Paper towels, salt & pepper, and ketchup were on the tables. The only 'con' for me was the hush puppies... it had pieces of corn in it. This is a personal preference, of course, but I like my HPs without pieces of corn or onions, so I didn't ding them for that! Great job to everyone here, everything was delicious. It's on my "Must Go Back" list for next time I'm in the area.

When I arrived with some of my dinner guests, we still had a wait before we were escorted to a private room. We encountered an issue with one of the servers and I had to request to speak with a manager. Rachel came over and we spoke about the unfortunate situation we were having. Rachel apologized and worked to get us someone else to take care of us. After that, we settled in and enjoyed the rest of our dinner. I ordered the Beef Empanadas, the Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon (comes with Mashed Sweet Potato and Green Beans) and a Dragon Fruit Margarita. The Dragon Fruit Margarita was delicious. I didn't want to get full before receiving my food so I took sips while we waited. It was hard not drinking it all too quickly. It was good. It was served in a glass with a sugar coated rim and lime wedge. The Beef Empanadas are an all-time favorite and never disappoints. I couldn't eat all my food so I packaged the rest to go. I was presented with a glass of ice cream topped with whipped cream and cherries. A candle perfectly placed in the ice cream was lit and waiting for me to make a birthday wish and blow out the flame. The night was not over yet. After dinner, we went outside and sat to listen to the live steel pan music. It was a wonderful way to end the evening. As the cool air embraced us so did the melodic tunes of the steel pan music. Thank you Rachel for salvaging the evening and remedying our unfortunate experience with one of the service staff. Your response and actions saved the evening and help earned this four star rating.

Located in CityWalk, we walked into a space that leans heavily into the idea of mixing Japanese-inspired dishes with classic American comfort food, creating a menu that feels more like an experience than a traditional restaurant. The interior has a fun, energetic atmosphere with colorful decor, making it a popular stop before or after visiting the nearby parks. The energy in the room is lively, with a mix of families, groups, and couples, and the layout includes a bar area that stays active throughout the evening. The biggest draw is the "burgushi," which combines burger and sushi elements into one dish. It sounds like a gimmick at first, but we found that some of the combinations actually work surprisingly well. The sushi options are creative, with specialty rolls and presentations that make the dishes stand out, while the burgers provide a more familiar option for anyone who is not looking for seafood. We tried a few of the specialty rolls and found them well executed, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations that did not rely solely on the novelty of the concept. The burgers are solid and offer a reliable backup if you are not in the mood for sushi. The menu has a good variety, so groups with different preferences can usually find something they enjoy, and the playful presentation of many dishes adds to the overall experience. Beyond the main dishes, the appetizers are also worth exploring. The crab rangoon dip is one of the more popular choices and fits well with the restaurant's style, offering a fun twist on a familiar flavor that we found enjoyable as a shared starter. The fries and shareable items make it a good place for groups, especially if you want to try multiple things instead of committing to just one entrée. The variety across the menu encourages sharing, and the portions are generous enough that ordering a few appetizers alongside the mains works well. Service can vary depending on how busy the restaurant gets, and we noticed that wait times can become longer during peak hours. Reservations are helpful, especially around park closing times when many visitors are looking for a place to eat. We arrived a bit early and found the bar area to be a good option while waiting, and the overall environment made the wait feel less inconvenient. The staff were friendly and handled the busy flow with efficiency, though the kitchen pace can slow when the restaurant is at capacity. The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is worth visiting for the experience and creativity behind the menu. While not every item will be something you would order repeatedly, the combination of sushi, burgers, and playful dishes makes it stand out from typical CityWalk restaurants. It is a place that works best when you go in expecting something fun and different rather than a traditional sushi or burger restaurant, and the balance of novelty and quality makes it a memorable stop during a visit to the area.

He desperately needs a lesson in basic customer service and human respect. After a long day at Universal Studios with our kids, we were fortunate to find a late 9:00 PM reservation for dinner at The Palm. We arrived around 9:05 PM, and while waiting near the seating area, Rami approached us and abruptly announced that our reservation had been canceled. Naturally, I was confused, as I thought my husband had booked it online, and didn't say anything about cancelling it. He was parking the car at that moment, and he was not with me. Before I could even process what was happening, Rami raised his voice and snapped aggressively at me, saying, "Your reservation was canceled, but I am getting you a table, okay?" As I hesitated in shock, he literally yelled at me in an irritated, condescending tone: "YOUR RESERVATION WAS CANCELED! BUT I AM GETTING YOU A TABLE!!" He spoke to me as if he were scolding a child. This was not acceptable or normal hosting. Right behind us was a white family with a 9:00 PM reservation. Rami instantly shifted his demeanor, welcoming them in a calm, polite, and respectful tone. The contrast was impossible to ignore. When my husband arrived and attempted to show him the reservation, Rami cut him off mid-sentence and yelled at him as well: "I got this. I'm working on it, okay?" Refusing to be dismissed, my husband showed him the OpenTable email confirmation. Seeing the active confirmation, Rami's eyes went wide, and without saying a single word of apology, he walked us to a table. I cannot help but wonder: would he have raised his voice, aggressively barked orders, and been condescending to us if I weren't an Asian woman with an accent? This went far beyond poor customer service; it felt deeply disrespectful and racially motivated. What should have been a wonderful family Sunday night at the end of our vacation was completely ruined by this arrogant, rude, and foolish individual. How does a high-end establishment like The Palm allow someone like Rami to host? Management needs to seriously audit their staff and hire people who reflect the reputation the restaurant claims to have. In addition, if the reservation system was what caused the reservation to be cancelled, please fix the issue immediately. Running a resturant takes more than just good food.
