Too often all we get is "bad" news, seems this sells better for our 1st amendment-protected journalist than "good" news. I wish to share good news regarding the experience I had with ME Plumbing in Seguin. My problem appeared simple. My second home in Luling had a sewer back-up. I examined my choices for the surrounding area and I contacted ME Plumbing as it appeared they are large enough to take on most any job but small enough not to have lost the personal connection with customers. We discussed the job and they quoted me a price. The price was "not the cheapest money can buy" but, my past experience is you get what you pay for. I feel I can speak on this subject with some authority as I am an Engineering graduate from Texas A & M University with 13 years experience at the General Motors Corporation and 30 years as a Senior Facilities Engineer at a semiconductor plant in San Antonio. Yes I was responsible for overseeing many contracted skilled trades including electricians, carpenters, pipe fitters, and plumbers. I wish I knew about ME Plumbing then! My simple 2 day job turned into a 10 day ordeal and I am glad I had ME Plumbing on my side. They brought additional equipment, additional man-power; all the time with a smile on their face and great sense of humor. Once the job was completed I tried to discuss how much the overage would be since the scope of work increased. THEY WOULD NOT HEAR OF IT! I paid what I was quoted. If you need plumbing work of any scale; do not pass on contacting ME Plumbing - a firm still doing business like it should be done. Had a mainline clog with water leaking out of the base of our toilette and showers. Johnny and Ruben were at the house in about 1 hour from the time of calling which was way quicker than we expected. Not only did they get there quickly, they diagnosed the problem, fixed everything, gave us advice for what to look out for in the future, and a fair price. You can go without your A/C but when your toilets are not working you're sort of at the mercy of the plumber you have available so definitely expected to get the run around either on the front end waiting or the backend on the price but not with these guys. Was super impressed and thankful for their good service. We had the whole rest of the day freed up since they did such a good job and we're so prompt. Well done. Be aware you will be charged more then your quoted. Told a minimum of 1 hour = $129. Once here- told between 8-8:30am, arrived 8:35am, they started on 2 sink faucet replacements. I'm not sure why but there were 2 plumbers who came and then went in and out of the house several times. Finished at 8:45am- told the bill was $275. Shocked about the difference and was told they replaced the under the counter connection hoses, etc. I paid and was emailed the invoice. They charged $180 for labor, $9.99 for shop towels, and the rest was the hoses, etc. Mind you- there were no leaking problems, this was to replace 2 faucets!! When I called to ask about the fees I was told the $180 included travel time to get to my house (which is in the same small down!). Needless to say- you'd save money by calling a friend to do this type of work. You'd probably still have to clean up after them anyway- boot marks on the floor, rug and bath rug were wet and dirty- all had to be washed. read more

Took a difficult situation and eventually made it right by replacing the equipment that was causing a problem.

We had needed the inflow/outflow parts replaced in our garage toilet. My husband called about 8:30 and we had a plumber here at noon. Frank quickly installed the parts and had the toilet operational in about 14 minutes. He was efficient and friendly. I'll use them in the future. read more

We needed a sink and faucet installed in our kitchen and the faucets replaced in the master bathroom. JP and JJ were prompt, professional, able to solve the problems that arose based on our existing plumbing configuration. They cleaned up under the sink and in front of the tub. If you are not located in or very near to Seguin, you do not want to use this company. When I called the office to see what the charge would be to remove tree roots from my home's drain, I was told it would be $110 per hour. What they failed to tell me was that I had to pay for the travel time of the employees beginning from when they picked up the tools at the shop. Since I live more than 20 miles from Seguin, and apparently the employees drive very slowly, I ended up paying $460 for a job that a local plumber did for $180 not very long ago. None of this was explained when I called, and the office phone connection is so bad that it is almost impossible to communicate. Don't get burned like I did. read more

I am writing this review to inform you of a very disturbing incident I saw involving one of your vans on I-10. I've been traveling since the incident, but it was so disconcerting I felt that I needed to reach out to you to inform you of your employee's very dangerous behavior. On November 29th, at about 10 AM, I was driving eastbound on I-10 around the 794 cut off. I observed a van with your company's logo and telephone number (how I found you, though the number appears to have been disconnected) driving very slow in the left lane. Another car attempted to pass, and was blocked by your drivers in a very dangerous way. I can confirm, having passed them myself later, that there were two men driving. I also observed them making mocking gestures to the other driver. After the driver had managed to pass them, they sped up to well over the speed limit (90 mph plus), swerved in front of the other driver, and slammed on their brakes. This was not a little "brake check", they caused the other driver (along with myself and everyone behind them) to slam on the brakes and slow down to around 50 mph. The maneuver, apparently done because they were angry at being passed, could very well have killed people. It was irresponsibly dangerous, and had it been observed by a police officer, I have no doubt the driver would have been arrested and charged. I did not observe any action by the other driver that justified any anger, let alone such reckless and dangerous behavior. I hope that you can identify the drivers from my description, because he and his companion should be disciplined for this. They could very well have killed someone. They are driving in a van with your company's logo on it. I can't imagine this is the image you wish to project. Finally, I should say that this incident means I would never employ your company in the future. Such behavior makes me fear having that driver on my street and endangering someone. read more

I called M&E for a few minor issues with a rental. I had used them about 4 years ago for a gas line issue and swore I would never use them again. I called to set an appointment and asked what the rate would be. $120 per hour. I thought a max of 2 hours to replace an outside faucet, p trap and shower assembly. I received the invoice for $480 in labor plus parts, so I called my tenant to find out how long they were there. He said about 2 hours plus they went to home depot. So I guess I was charged for the two hours at the house, trip to home depot and lunch. I called and questioned the cost for labor and they reduced the labor cost to $240 without any discussion, hmmm?. Advice to all that need a plumber, electrician, AC etc. ask for the price for them to come out and provide a quote. Then if it is not in your budget, you can pay the service call and look elsewhere. 4 years since I tried M&E. Not going back. read more

So after the initial disagreements about property access and billing THE LEAK WAS STILL THERE. I called M.E. Plumbing to request a full refund and took the day off work to fix the problem myself. The owner of M.E Plumbing called me and kindly requested to visit the house and review the work that was done to better understand the situation. I fully supported the postmortem analysis and I wanted to get his reaction to my issues in person. I found the owner an affable fellow and personally enjoyed my interaction with him. To his credit he walked into a situation where a very displeased client had an honest grievance and he handled it professionally. The owner agreed my driveway not as bad as advertised and was personally dissatisfied with the companies performance when I demonstrated the leak. I accepted his offer to rectify the situation. Later that day the original crew returned, the van made it all the way to the house, and bypassed the slab leak. My tenant again has hot water and is no longer flooded. While it was a rocky start I was happy with the willingness to admit and rectify mistakes in a timely manner. I will use M.E. Plumbing in the future. read more
