I love this place, very professional and clean. I got a vaginal tightening and now I'm a regular customer!

Their…read moreapproach from the consultation seems a little salesy, but honestly it doesn't matter bc they're doing things right. For a Brazilian, Enigma considers them separate & charges you separate for your area, your bikini lines & your bottom strip, which turns out to be over $500 for only 6 sessions - Milan charges you for all 3 together with unlimited sessions, as it should be. I did 12 consecutive sessions at Enigma for both my underarms & my entire Brazilian and the hair STILL comes back. They try to squeeze out all the money from you that they can. At Milan, a Brazilian + underarms with unlimited sessions is like $2800 (they give a discount if you've done laser before) aaaand it's split into monthly payments. The seller for me is that you get touch ups for free for life & they have 280 stores across the country in case you move or are on vacation. I'm 27 years old & haven't had kids yet so I can almost guarantee my hair will be growing back somewhere at some point & I'll never have to pay again! The experience itself was also 10x's better at Milan. They take the time to talk you through everything & even explain how the machines work. They give you a robe. They have good music playing in the room. They make you feel extremely relaxed & comfortable, rather than rushing you in & out. They're so welcoming and genuinely care about your experience. The whole team absolutely killed it from start to finish! And I think the price point compared to the competitor is a no brainer!!

I arrived a few minutes early, was acknowledged at the front desk, and was told they were looking for an available room. After that, I was completely ignored for 27 minutes. I finally had to get someone's attention myself to ask whether I should just reschedule. At that point, I was told "something was going on" and that they would need to close early. Honestly, a quick phone call or text canceling my appointment would have been far more respectful than having me drive there, sit waiting with no communication, and then drive back home without being seen. Very disappointing customer service experience.

I called because I had a gift card for a couples massage, but asked if I could use it for a different service. Her answer was yes with no hesitation or questions asked. When I go to check out (my gift card totaling $179 and facial costing $79.00) I was told by the experienced cashier (Sabrina) that the entire gift card must be used because it was originally meant for a couples massage. Francisca failed to mention this on the phone prior to me coming in to receive the facial. She failed to ask a more experienced person what the requirements are for gift cards. Due to her careless mistake, the total service I received was $110.00 with the purchase of a scrub included that I bought with my personal funds. If I would have known from the beginning, I have may gotten more add-ons to my service or maybe even a massage if I knew they would charge the entire gift card totaling $179.00 (let's not fail to mention that tip couldn't be included on the gift card either). It may be poor training - but her customer service skills weren't great either.

I got a call last night by Hand & Stone stating I had to provide a credit card and put down a deposit of $50 for each service or give a gift card. I had 2 gift cards that my mom bought for me. They confirmed $119.95 was on 1 card and $40 on the other. Let me first say the services were fabulous! The massage and facial were great. The women that gave the services were professional, friendly and the esthetician was so detailed. The girl who checked me in was so nice! However, they charged me $129.95 for the massage which was supposed to be $79.95. They gave me the introductory massage facial when I scheduled the anti-aging facial and up-charged me $25 for a service. So I had to leave and go to work and couldn't argue the prices. When I checked my receipt, they only took $20 off of my $40 gift-card and charged me $64.95 on my credit card when it should have been $44.95. On top of that, I signed up for the monthly membership and they took a coupon out of my membership to cover today's cost but I gave the two gift cards and paid the $64.95 plus tip. The receipt did not show where the coupon came off. When I called after work to have the receipt explained, I spoke to the manager who could not explain why they took one of my coupons from signing up and why they only took $20 off of my $40 gift card. I literally said I felt taken advantage of. Ashley, the manager, kept telling me it looked correct on her end. That doesn't help the customer. The math was not mathing and she was talking in circles. Instead of losing business, she should have said I'm giving you back a coupon and refunding $20 to your credit card but no, she was willing to lose someone who was willing to be a life customer. I got so frustrated, I canceled the new membership. I already made an appointment for another establishment in Cherry Hill. So I recommend, if you're going to use them, to confirm your service signed up for, the price of each and don't use a gift card or go somewhere else.

Got my haircut sept 2nd which was great-- can't remember if it was Nicolette or Natalie but the stylist was super transparent with me which I loved. The hair color is a different story. I was going from brunette to a full head of blonde highlights, my colorist was Terry, and she destroyed my hair completely. This was my first time dying my hair, she told me she used 4 different types of bleach in my head so I didn't know (at the time) that this was BAD. She put me under the hood dryer and left, my nose and eyes were burning so badly from the bleach I could barely breathe, I had to find a different stylist just to ask if I can be done with that thing. As we were looking at my color in the mirror, I tried to ask her nicely why the highlights look "choppy" on the top of my head-- I was NOT happy with them. She basically tried to gaslight me and said that it's supposed to look that way because I wanted highlights?? The highlights were uneven on both sides of my head, and my hair was YELLOW. To top it off, she got bleach stains on my sweatshirt, even though I had a cover on. How do you even manage to do that? Terry was nice/welcoming from the beginning, and I still tipped her 20% because this was my first time and I was clueless. But I NEVER went back after that experience. Could've gotten some sort of reimbursement for my sweatshirt at least because that was plain messed up. If you have darker hair and want to go lighter or blonde, please DO NOT go to Terry.

Two weeks ago I…read moreimpulsively decided I wanted a change for the spring time, to go from black to cherry red, and chose to go to Salon Norman Dee as I had found this salon years ago and never had any issues. Due to my previous hair dyes, I was informed it would take multiple sessions but at the very least I would leave with a cohesive even color, unfortunately, that was not the case. I sat at this salon for 5hrs...five hours...my entire head was bleached and this was the result I was left with. Due to my own personal time constraint I was unable to be fit in for a cut/blow dry, nonetheless, I sat at the salon for 5hrs to be left with horrible, dry, damaged, and unevenly colored hair, all at the cost of $300. I contacted the owner, Christy, who had requested for me to return, but considering the circumstances I was hesitant and rightfully so. I chose to go to a different salon to have my hair corrected, and they were heaven sent. In the same 5hrs Salon Norman Dee took to destroy my hair, this other salon not only properly bleached it, but dyed it, applied a hydration treatment, and gave me a cut/blow dry...all within 5hrs. I have waited for a response from Christy for 3 days now, don't expect any sort of compensation/reimbursement even if you paid for a service that was not provided. (the beautiful cherry red blowout pictured is NOT from this salon, save your money and go elsewhere)

I have been going to see Melissa for bikini and brow waxing for about two years. I first decided to make an appointment because of the stellar reviews and because her previous Kensington location was walking distance from my house. Although she has since moved, I would not think of going anywhere else at this point because Melissa really is the "bee's knees" (sorry, I had to). Melissa is professional, personable and fun to talk to, which makes the experience of someone peering up your downside far less awkward. She is also just very good at waxing: very little pain/redness and absolutely smooth. She checks in during the entire process to make sure that you are comfortable. I am not over-selling when I tell you that she has consistently given me the best waxes I have ever had. She will also make sure that the wax is aesthetically perfect: even on both sides, every stray hair gone and every rogue one put back in its place. She is meticulously clean and careful, which I appreciate immeasurably during COVID times. The prices are lower than or comparable to other Philly beauty studios that I've frequented. I should mention that I also always request "a la carte" additions to my waxes, so that they are somewhere in-between bikini/full Brazilians. In the spirit of avoiding the exhaustive pricing list many other salons utilize, Melissa has never once up-charged me for my hybrid bush-- and she definitely could. I don't often write reviews but Melissa really is an all-star who cares so much about her clients. I happened to be the only scheduled appointment today and Melissa opened up the studio and came in anyway. That is dedication! The past ten months have been particularly hard on small businesses, and I am very glad that Maebee's has persevered. Besides Melissa's tenacity, I imagine that this is also because many, many other people feel the same way that I do: Maebee's is where it's at! If you need a wax (or facial/make-up once COVID restrictions relax), do yourself a favor and come to this place!!

Given the part I get waxed, one can imagine I am scrupulous as to to whom I will go and Melissa is only one of two beauticians I trust in the city. The other is more expensive and farther from home. Last year I got married and Melissa did my makeup. Again, the price was fair and her flexibility, responsiveness and availability (with this and my waxes) always impresses me and simply makes my life (and my attempts to beautify myself) easier.
