I decided to get my tint at this business again because the tint they put on my Audi was perfect. I'm an impulsive person so I wanted my Beetle tinted immediately. I was shocked as to how fast I got in. The owner set me up with an appointment a few days later on Tuesday morning. Leave it to me to be late and miss my 9am appointment. I received a courtesy call making sure everything was alright & to remind me about my appointment that morning. When I called back around 12pm the receptionist was incredibly polite & worked me into a 1pm appointment that day! Upon arrival at Solar Control, I was greeted & immediately given options as to which tint would be the right fit for my Beetle. Once I chose the tint I wanted, a friendly technician asked for my keys & got started right away. There were several other vehicles being services that day. These people know how to hustle! My car was finished in no time. I was impressed with the knowledge & experience of the staff as I observed other customer interactions taking place. I had my 2025 Tesla Model 3 tinted here on February 25th. The appointment was scheduled for 1pm, with a 3pm pickup. We arrived early at 12:30. Toby, the owner, informed us he needed to drop his kid off at an appointment and would be back shortly. He returned at 2:40pm. That's over two hours late to work on a car he promised would be done by 3. He then finished the full tint job in just under an hour. If that sounds fast, it should. When he handed the car back, he mentioned casually that he'd nicked his finger during the job. It was bleeding. I didn't think much of it at the time. Then I got in the car. Blood on the front windshield tint. Blood on the rear windshield tint. Blood spots on my headliner. Let that sink in. A grown man bled into my car and handed me my car like nothing happened. The blood was the most alarming part, but it wasn't the only problem. The film had visible wrinkles and misalignment that we noticed before we even left the lot. When we pointed it out, Toby brushed it off. "It'll go away on its own," he said. Getting a refund required a full day of back-and-forth. When we returned the next day, there was no apology. Instead, the person at the front desk actually pushed back. Her exact words: "Toby has been doing this for 30 years, and he has never done a refund. If you think about it, this is a good thing for you." Read that again. They put blood in my car, and I was supposed to feel grateful. We eventually got the refund and asked them to remove the film. When we brought the car back, Toby wasn't there. One person handled a removal job that needed two. The film came off, but so did five of my rear defroster lines. Destroyed. That's a repair that costs more than the tint job itself. So let me do the final math. I didn't save $50. I spent $60 in Ubers driving back and forth. I lost five defroster lines. And I still have blood stains on my headliner that I can't get out. Whatever he quoted you, it's not worth it. If you're still browsing reviews trying to decide whether to book here, let my experience be the last one you need to read.

You can set up your appointment online and they finalize the appointment or concerns by text. Easy. As if that was not enough, the business goes out of its way to connect and help. On a recent visit, they saw that I had a ding in my driver door from an inconsiderate motorist who parked next to me. They were able to make the paint from the offender disappear, and to recommend another provider to fix the dent if I wanted to. Finally, they consistently do a good job, not just a good job for first-time customers. If every business were run like this one, the world would be a better place. But because of Dr. Tint, my car continues to look, smell, and feel great. You owe your ride a doctor visit at Dr. Tint!

However - my car, a Corolla driven infrequently and garage kept was not a difficult job. I just wanted a good exterior cleaning and wax and a thorough interior cleaning and with special attention to the upholstery shampoo - which I mentioned on the phone. The job I got was one rung up from the local carwash. No attempt was made to buff out any surface imperfections and the interior is such a disappointment to see every time I get in the car. I could have done a better job with warm water and a shop-vac. The car just wasn't that dirty, so they could have spent a little effort on the few spots on the very durable fabric seats. I think they just didn't bother because it's a little economy car and they had already been paid months ago, so it wasn't important to them. The evening I picked it up, the staff were oohing over an expensive sports car in the lot - I just think they have more interest in flashy cars than in customer service for the average Jane. It's been several weeks since the service, but it still bothers me every time I see the spots on the upholstery.
