MdSkin lost its sparkle . A few appointments ago , I had a bad experience with a medical assistant ( not Alex , she's amazing ) the other blonde one that been there for years. I always book my injection appointments far in advance to secure my spot and enough time . I was scheduled for botox & mini threads . When the medical assistant was prepping me , she told me my appointment was only for botox & there was no time for threads . I had spoke to Jamie in my previous appointment & that was our plan . The front desk staff said it was booked correctly. So , I kept saying that's not true and I'll just wait till Jamie comes in . Then the medical assistant tells me if I decide to do more threads I will scar . At this point , her tone just kept getting worse. Just imagine a evil witch / or super rude teacher vibe . She had me wait almost 45 minutes for Jamie . I felt like this was her secret revenge towards me . I sat on my phone & got some work done but I was extremely bored just sitting there . I have never waited that long . Then , I hear chatter in the hallways . It was the medical assistant talking about how I shouldn't get mini threads ! ( the walls are thin ) The audacity of this girl! Jamie finally comes in & everything was fine and she did the threads . The medical assistant was giving me the biggest stink eye ! Why ?! Seriously why ?! She doesn't own MDskin lounge & and she's not doing the damn threads ! If the front desk can't book appointments correctly than this medical assistant will punish you in her own way . She's creepy . I asked for a manager to contact me a few times & nothing . So I gave up & tried not to think about it . So , I have been a member since almost the opening of MDskin . I grew to really enjoy chatting with many of the staff . I have raved about the company to everyone I know . Sent a couple referrals, post nice reviews, took pictures for their social media .. it was my favorite place . The membership price went up recently. I had to give it a think if I really wanted to continue to be a member . With the front desk staff not booking my appointments correctly, not sending a member box ( I asked 6 + times & everyone I asked had a different answer or lie ) But - I decided to go forward with a annual membership ( did the math on saving with injections & Jamie's work is top notch ) on 5/17 via email . I was asked if I was going to do the monthly fee or annual . I said annual ( you get a sight % off ) Now I find out I'm not a member & there is no member's box coming . It's a hassle booking monthly facials especially if you have to reschedule once in a blue moon . They have limited aestheticians / availability. I have spent a decent amount of $$ over the years . I have had some great conversations with many of the staff members . Some of the staff are truly great . I absolutely dread walking in & sitting in the lobby . I just know they will mess up my future appointments & I will get a "talkin' to " by the evil medical assistant. Jamie is beyond talented , I will miss her work . But it's not worth the work on my end . I have been told a few times they are under staffed . I think whoever does the hiring needs to reevaluate who their employees are or MDskin lounge needs to find a different hiring director. I'm going to cancel my membership. The prices have gone up and I know for a fact a hydra facial is not worth almost 300 dollars. The customer service is impecable but let's be real, in this town there are hundreds and hundreds of options when it comes to skin rejuvenation and I have found clinics that offer the same treatments for more affordable prices with quality and safety involved. I have also found clinics with more of the latest trends when it comes to innovation of lasers, fillers, etc. I simply can't afford getting my skin care in this clinic. I had the most bizarre experience here today. This was my second time in, first experience was great. This time they handed me new paperwork to fill out and it included a photography privacy form. it was very cryptic and after a bunch of niceties about how important privacy was ultimately said that they reserve the right to use your photos at their own discretion. - don't remember the exact language but it definitely was intentionally vague and intents to limit their liability not protect the client. Anyway... I didn't sign it basically thinking it wouldn't be a big deal. The esthetician came out to get me and said "first we're going to take your "before picture"". I said no thanks and she didn't know what to do because no one had ever declined it before. So she went to get a manager. The manger assured me that the photos were just there for me to see the improvement and to keep in my file for medical purposes. Then she said "the form you signed when you came in explains all of that. It's our hippa form." I said I didn't get a hippa form when I came in. Well she was referring to the photo policy form. I told her that form doesn't say anything about hippa. And then i read the photo release language out loud. It was a totally pleasant conversation but just so weird. So basically they said they couldn't give me a facial unless they took my photo AND I signed the photo release. So I left. I asked my other friends that also go there what they thought and they all said they remember the form and didn't sign it either but no one ever said anything to them. So weird. read more

Been a member for a couple of year. Frustrating to see something slowly change that started out so great. Disappointed in customer service. Told have so many skin club members hard to get everyone scheduled for facials and other treatments. Difficult to make appointments for non facial treatments. Charged $150 no show fee when I missed my appointment in addition to the $149 skin club membership, so $299 total for missing an appointment which is more then then the service provided for a facial. I have canceled my membership. No offer to work through keeping me as a member. Which explains when I was told they have so many members. Clearly my business does not matter. Many other places have memberships with same benefits and better customer service, more availability, and more staff. read more

I wasted ALOT of money coming here. I know skincare is expensive, and I'm happy to pay the price for services if they are done with expertise. I got a series of 3 IPLs done here ($1400). The girl performing them also switched up my skincare routine to ZO skin health which at first was going great. She had me using multiple exfoliants at once with no moisturizer and my skin slowly began screaming for help. I started vocalizing to her that I think the regimen was too aggressive for my skin barrier. She told me it's purging and to continue. Naively, I did. For my final IPL, I was telling her my skin was definitely sensitized from the skincare and I was anxious for the IPL which was already a painful process. We went ahead, I was glad to be done with the laser. Then she came back and said her manager and her looked at my before photos and agreed my skin was not where they wanted it- so the manager approved her using a chemical peel on me. She mentioned she had never done it before and was interested to see the results. My skin was already sensitive from the aggressive skin routine that I had mentioned numerous times was a lot for my skin and now an intensive laser which is also painful, I'm not an esthetician, but a chemical peel was probably the last thing i needed. I'm not a newbie to chemical peels. I've done TCA multiple times and can handle the pain when my skin is prepped properly and not with a damaged barrier. When she was finished, I got in my car and just cried. The pain and the defeat of my skin not improving after spending a decent amount was a lot to handle. I probably should've stopped while I was ahead or spoken up more about the final chemical peel being way too much for my skin to handle- but when you're paying this much for services and going somewhere with a known name, you think they know what they are doing and I was desperate for my skin to clear. I stopped coming here and began using a ton of hydrating products before re introducing exfoliants and my skin is finally not on fire from wearing moisturizer. Listen to your skin. read more

Though I don't get to go to MD Skin Lounge nearly as much as I would like - every time I go it is worth every penny. I have been seeing Jaime Comstock for years & will not let anyone else do injections on my face. She has always been the best and continues to grow as well! I literally trust to tell her - 'please do whatever you think I need to make me feel more refreshed looking' and away she goes!!! I have never felt overdone and always get compliments on how refreshed and awake I look. Alex - her nurse assistant also has been amazing. They take before photos and make sure you are all numbed up before the needles come in :) Samantha, one of the office managers was at the front desk and did my checkout. Always a fresh smiling face & made sure to add my Allē points etc (which hadn't always happened in the past). Yes- there may be 'cheaper' places around the valley, but this is truly you get what you pay for, and I feel grateful to have access to the best of the best! Let me begin by saying: If I could LIVE at the MD Skin Lounge, I would! Dr. Gawley is the #1 cosmetic surgeon in the United States (maybe even the world?!) and unsurpassed in his knowledge of skin treatments. Dr. Gawley has assembled the most knowledgeable staff, and once you walk through the doors ... you already feel transformed! I've had the pleasure of trying several different skin treatments and body procedures. The fact that I'm 65 but look and feel 20 years younger ... (without a facelift!) is thanks to treating my skin with loving care at the Skin Lounge. One of the many things I love about Dr. Gawley is that he offers so many different options to "turn back the hands of time" without surgery. I had an appointment for lip filler. I am here for the winter away from my usual injector and since this was across the street, I thought I would give it a try. Not sure if it's a Scottsdale thing or not, but they require a credit card to get an appointment and a consultant fee of $150.00 that can apply to services. I filled out all the paperwork online and was early to my appointment. Front desk girls were very nice. I was told I would possibly be seen early, but that didn't happen, so I waited about 20 minutes. The first thing they do is take pictures. I agreed to pictures, but they took pictures of areas not being treated. When I asked why I was told they were just for my file. I didn't like that. I was then put in a room that was overly warm with a TV of advertisements of all the procedures they offer and numbing cream was put on my lips by the assistant. Next the PA came in, she was nice, and we talked about what I wanted. She asked about previous lip filler, brand, migration, etc. Mentioned a bump on my lip that may be an issue and left the room so the numbing could work. When the PA came in again she wiped off the numbing cream and said that bump on my lip would need to be dissolved and she would have to charge me $300 to dissolve this tiny 1cm accumulation of filler. She said if the filler had been done in the practice it would be free. Outrageous! I have never been charged to dissolve filler even when multiple practices were involved. She explained that it was expensive and they use a lot in the practice,(I looked it up and the usual charge is between $100-150, but again I have never been charged)and wouldn't you make more money NOT charging to dissolve knowing that the filler would be much more? I also asked about Botox (since I had an Alle credit)and she wasn't interested in giving me that either. What I would have appreciated is that this spa would have figured out that they weren't going to give me any services prior to numbing up my lips and me waiting for 30 minutes. I left with numb lips, no service and $150 spent for nothing. The front desk did say it was a credit to come back, but why would I? read more

I arrived 3 minutes late for my 1st visit to MD Skin Bar. Upon check I apologized for being late and explained all of the road construction in Scottsdale caused me to be late. The girl at the check-in said not a problem and asked me to complete some paperwork. I completed the paperwork in record time, it's now 8 minutes after the hour and I take my paperwork to the counter, the check girl said thank you and Said it would just be a moment. A second check in girl that had been sitting there the entire time, then says to me "Since you were late, we can no longer work you in today" I drove 30 minutes to get to this appointment and had I known they couldn't see me for being 3 minutes late would not have completed their paperwork and provided them with all of my personal information. Their loss because I had just decided to commit to monthly facials and it will not be at MD Skin Bar! Worst customer service experience ever. read more

I finally cancelled my skin club membership, and I wish I had done it sooner. The front desk staff is very sweet, but it is difficult to get anyone to answer the phones most of the time, and it is difficult to get an appointment even as a member. They started off by taking photos of my face when I first came in, and then they never took photos again after that. My skin got progressively worse over the last year with the products they recommended, as well as the facials and chemical peels, and I now suffer from acne and scarring that I had never had before going here. And the only thing they did was offer more expensive treatments as a solution. Since I've stopped going, my skin has started to clear up, so it bums me out that I wasted so much of my money there. The membership itself doesn't seem worth it either. As I said, it is difficult to get appointments, and I've had multiple appointments cancelled by them over the last year, so I've had to try to make new appointments, which led to having to drive all the way out to Chandler to their other location if I wanted to get in. They also no longer send the boxes in the mail that they claim (on their website) to send to members, so make sure you know what you are getting if you sign up. My final straw was that I tried a new injector here since the one I loved left, and she did not listen to what I wanted, and so I didn't get the results I've always had in the past. She also added more Dysport than usual my face without saying anything to me and then told me after the fact. So, I had to pay more without being included in that conversation to see if I would even be okay with it. That seemed shady to me, and it was upsetting to pay more for worse results than I have ever had there. This place is beautiful, but they aren't taking care of their customers like they used to. read more

I signed up for the facial membership and so far love it. The place is decorated beautifully and they offer every service you could ever ask for skin and beauty. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the services, products and protocols. They also offer smoothies and medical grade facial products too. The treatments are more medical based so there's no changing into a spa robe and getting a relaxing neck massage during your service. It's quick and to the point, that's the only downer, but their hours are great and the location is perfect. The benefits that come with the membership are amazing so I'll gladly trade in the spa robe for that! read more

Came back second time for consult and they forgot to book my appt.... I asked If I could get an IV drip they said absolutely and had me wait 45mins or so and then told me they were out of the drips, but had more at their other location. I have received services from multiple providers at MD Skin Lounge and consider it my one stop shop for all things injectables and skincare. This is a very well run facility overseen by a plastic surgeon. People should be cautious about these smaller injecting facilities that fly by the seat of their pants and get famous off instagram. I find them very suspect and the environment in which they provide medical service questionable. You won't find that at MD Skin Lounge this is top of the line at the exact same price (or better) and you will feel so comfortable there. I feel it's much better to go to a plastic surgeons office when we're talking needles and our faces! I see Karla at MD skin lounge for injectables. She is an artist, has an eye for beauty and will create the EXACT results you are looking for in a very natural way. You won't look "worked on" or over done, in fact no one will notice, you will just look younger and more rested and that's what I am about. I also go to Mckayla for dermal infusion facials and she's wonderful. When I need medical grade skin products (because it's worth the $) I go to MD Skin Lounge and am always helped by their staff. I think there's something to be said for the wide array of services and type of customization they to provide the most effective and safe procedures. I have the monthly membership and I love it. The hydro facial is awesome. I've had both Robin and Mackenzie as my esthetician and they are very good, explain what they are doing and left my skin looking great. You also get a discount on products with your membership which is a great deal. You cannot find ZO or Skin Better Science products at anything less than full retail elsewhere. I have been a Member if the Skin Club for over a year and my skin looks better at 25 vs when I was in my teens. I have seen Megan for facials and most recently Cheyanne who both are absolutely incredible. Everything from a Dermalinfusion to a Hydrafacial is customized and although you are paying a monthly membership and get one of their signature treatments every month, they don't skimp on them what so ever. I have been to see Jamie (and her amazing assistant Alex) five times and I cannot even describe how incredible they both are. Alex is so kind and helpful and Jamie is literally a face artist. I have seen many injectors in my home town of Chicago and I can't find anyone with half her talent. She never over-injects, always places everything exactly where it should be and I leave feeling like a million $ (and 10 years younger). I always have them send me before and after photos and my friends back home can't believe it when I show them the results. I have been here a handful of times now and I have to say I always have a great experience. All of the girls are lovely. I am greeted with a friendly, welcoming smile and offered a beverage and a little chit chat. The facility is gorgeous and immaculate. And usually I see Liana and then Jamie. I felt like I needed a little brow lift so I told Jamie where I was at emotionally and financially. She provided excellent suggestions that worked for me and never pressured me into a thing. I was worried about that in the beginning because they have many clients that aren't on a budget if you know what I mean. I was made to feel comfortable and thought about what I wanted. The plan they provide is also a very useful tool. Of course I went back to see the girls. Jamie worked her magic and gave me exactly what I wanted while still looking natural.
