So, when my new pool was remodeled I felt bad that he didn't get the business so I had him clean my pool which was remodeled. His son Travis is a Splash and Dash cleaner and does not care for your pool. Brian finally said to me "I'm only making $20 per month profit so I don't really care about your business." I rarely leave negative reviews, but after spending thousands on what was supposed to be a…read morestraightforward spa coping replacement, I think it's important to share my experience. The project was estimated to take about five days. Instead, it stretched to nearly three weeks because one issue after another kept coming up. What became most frustrating was that I felt like I had to constantly inspect the work and point out obvious problems as they happened. The new spa coping profile didn't match the existing pool coping, but even worse, one half of the spa coping had a different reveal than the other half (see pics), the bullnose was noticeably uneven, extensive patching was required after the initial pour, and the mastic installation had to be redone. Every time one issue was addressed, another seemed to appear. The final, and still unresolved, problem involved the three spillways between the raised spa and the pool. During the project, the Castro team unnecessarily removed and discarded original spillway stone. They installed replacement stone, but after the spa was refilled, the spillways no longer functioned as they had before the project. Because of the way the replacement stone was installed, water that previously flowed fairly evenly across all three spillways now flows almost entirely through one, with little bit in the middle one, and pretty much no flow in the third. What disappointed me most was what happened next. I wasn't asking Isidoro to immediately fix it. I simply asked him to come back, look at the spillways with me, compare them to the videos from before the project, discuss what changed, and come up with a plan to fix it. Instead, after I had already given him the final payment, he told me it would cost another $1,500 to address the issue and he was too busy immediately to come fix it. He never came to inspect the work in person and on my last phone call with him, he told me to fix it myself and literally hung up on me. I understand that construction projects don't always go perfectly. Mistakes happen. What matters is whether a contractor takes ownership of problems and works with the customer to resolve them. That didn't happen here. If the workmanship issues had been the only problem, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. It was the combination of repeated quality issues, the need to continually monitor the work myself, and the unwillingness to come back and inspect a legitimate concern after the project was completed that left me unable to recommend Castro Pool Services.

All I can do is share our AWFUL experience with this company & hopefully I can save you the aggravation we had to go through. First of all, our designer of the pool & spa project did not capture the details of the project we were most concerned about ( my husband has back and hip issues). The communication was horrible!! We saw a picture of the project.. the contract is very hard to read / I'm sure that's on purpose !! We paid extra for pop-up cleaners in our pool!! We didn't even realize that there was absolutely no way to clean our hot tub. We were not sold or even TOLD by our designer that pop-up cleaners weren't included or that we wouldn't even have a way to clean our spa!!!! It was very disappointing and then to mention.....Our Hot tub was unusable for the first three months because my husband couldn't get into it because they made a 34 inch step into the hot tub! Oh, did I mention when it finally did get to be usable we found out that it was plumbed wrong and all of our pressure was coming out of the return jets! So it needed to be fixed for a 3x !!! Not to mention, I had to drain and refill this thing three times the fourth time it was finally complete!! Again, you would think that coming from such a high profile Company, you would not run into these issues. How does this happen from a professional pool company ? So then it was unusable again!! I can honestly say NOBODY in this company throughout the whole process cared about my project! In fact, my project manager, Donny was rude unprofessional. He told me I that I need to mind own business and leave the pool building to the pool professionals ! Who talks to somebody like that? Donny lie to my face and told me I had to do a $$4,000 upgrade to pass inspection, That was a Lie!! NOT THE CASE AT ALL!! I asked the inspector! Then he completely denied it! When I let a manager know it was completely brushed off!! It was disgusting. I've never been treated so poorly by Company that I hired!!!! worked my way up the Management line after several failed attempts! I talked to Steve, Donny's boss and that was useless ! It seems like they must be buddies!! This company throws the Manager title to anyone... what a joke Steve was. We had PROBLEMS after PROBLEMS ! Way too many to mention ALL! Every single trade was a subcontractor. We would have NEVER went with a pool company who subcontracted out everything!! We had a big issue because we were not able to communicate with them because I cannot speak Spanish. Subcontractors were leaving garbage all over our yard. Others they were Spitting sunflower seeds into our pool when it had rebar being done..I was told that most of the work would be done by a California pool employee and that was not the case... ANOTHER LIE !!! All work was subcontracted!! I can't stress enough that nobody in this company cared about how my project was going or how I was being treated as a customer. The work was less than average.They were the highest out off all of our quotes!! I'm still not happy with the outcome of my project. I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted in this company! You can find a much better company to spend your hard earned money on! This company was the highest company out of all of our estimates.
