To drink, I got the triPPPy cider and I really enjoyed it! The fruity notes aren't as strong in this one compared to other ciders I've had but it was still great. Finished it all. Service: (4/5) Super friendly. Just wish our food came a little faster. There weren't many people sitting in and our tator tots took maybe 30 mins. Other notes: Not exactly sure how the parking situation is still since we got there at 10:30pm in the pitch dark. We ended up at the parking lot next door and wandered over until we found it. Pretty surprised to see such low reviews for this spot! We stayed at the Anderson School a couple of weeks ago and had a great time at the Woodshop. The first day, we just came in for lunch. We split the hummus plate alongside the seasonal pizza, The Tower Climb. It is topped with garlic-roasted chicken, bacon, tomato, green onion & mozzarella with peppercorn ranch. I nixed the tomatoes (not a fan) and it was delicious! Loved the peppercorn ranch. The second day, we came pack for a departure drink and a round of pool to get a stamp in our passports. I'm confused, did I get my food from McMenamin's Wood Shop or a high school football concession stand, or maybe the movie theatre kitchen? I was extremely disappointed with this place. It's a cool atmosphere, waitress was kind, service was alright, but the only thing that stood out was the surprisingly low quality of my food. I don't usually order a chicken tender meal, but theirs was located at the top of the menu and it had a buttered up description, so I gave it a try.... And then I regretted my decision as soon as I saw my plate. Frozen chicken tenders, dirty grease fries, and watery coleslaw. All for $25. It was unreasonable. It gave me more of a $8 Dairy Queen chicken basket vibe, but I don't want to diss Dairy Queen. I'll pay $25 for Queen before I return to McMenamins. Would love to see McMenamins take a step up on this so they can give their guests an experience more pleasant than mine. read more

Nice restaurant. Quite a few parties going on. Fun place. good service. Food choices are unique. Always good to ask what's their favorite and have them recommend- best way to go. I had the jamming salmon with tater tots delicious. So much food wow. They have specials so remember to check them out. Parking is free and huge lot. There are 4 restaurants in the area. They have pinball machines, pool tables and cool music in the background. Excellent outdoor dining seating by the fire pit. Totally awesome very romantic or warm - you choose lol. I don't slam restaurants unless they're hilariously bad, and this one made me *roar* with laughter when my $24.50 worth of fish and chips arrived at the table. I'm 5'2" with proportionately-sized hands, and the two smashed-thin pieces of fish easily fit in my palm. Look at the photo, each piece was barely larger than the accompanying lemon wedge. "Goldfish and chips," as my dining companion put it. And who cuts "cod" half an inch thick for fish and chips? The taste was school lunch fish sticks. I very seriously doubt this was actual cod. The Reuben my friend ordered was equally embarrassing; bereft of fillings, made with restaurant supply deli meat, and my other friend said his burger was "fine," but only because of the late night happy hour pricing (which our overworked, mostly absent, and frantically busy server said was ending next week). Just recently visited this place for dinner and I'd have to say that this is not a place that I'd ever visit again if I were ever hungry. The food itself was pretty decent but very expensive for the amount of food you receive. As an example, you only get about ~8 onion rings for $14. My party had to wait 45 minutes to get our orders taken and then another 45 minutes to get our food with drinks. Once we got that, we still need things like napkins, etc that we just didn't end up getting since we were finished by the time the server came back around. They do however have pool tables, TVs, pinball machines, and shuffleboard which is pretty neat. The atmosphere is pretty cool but I feel that they may need better communication throughout to convey about their wait times to their guests so we aren't left wondering. read more

This is one of our go-to places, since it's close and we enjoy the food and drinks available. The service can be hit or miss. Never actually bad, but you sometimes get the feeling maybe they forgot about your table while everyone else is getting their food and attention. I've also had some great service here too, but it's best to go in patient (not always easy after driving around for 20 minutes looking for a parking spot). The food is consistently good, from the tater tots to the burgers to the salads and even the chicken strips. The drinks are always good at McMennamins...I don't think I've ever had something I didn't like. Overall just a nice place to grab a drink and some grub in a relaxed environment. The Banh Mi That Betrayed Me: I ordered the "banh mi" expecting, you know, an actual banh mi with pickled veggies, cilantro, a crisp baguette, and maybe some balance but instead got a teriyaki chicken sandwich that was so spicy it felt like a personal attack. This wasn't a banh mi in any recognizable sense no pickled veggies, no crisp baguette, just a burger bun stuffed with chicken and enough jalapenos to fuel a flamethrower. This is our favorite place to hang out when we stay at Anderson School. We stay here at least once a year and always head over to the woodshed to play pool, shuffle board, and have drinks. It gets super busy Thursday- Saturday but we can always find a table to sit and wait our turn for a game table. There's fire pits outside in the cooler months and tables to dine outside in the warmer weather. The staff is always friendly and the bartenders are always great too. They have a great combo of a meal menu and the bar food type choices. They have my favorite soft pretzels with cheese here so it's my go to when we sit down. The ambience of this place is fantastic- an old school! Very charming and polite staff plus great food at various restaurants. What's not to love? We choose the Woodshop as it was the less pricey option. The Rueben sandwich needed more meat but was tasty. The tots were very good the tortilla soup was great- almost as good as mine! Wish I could give half-stars here - 3 feels a little generous but giving the benefit of the doubt because we love all the spots the Anderson School brings to our area. The last midday work-session we had at the WoodShop was good from a food perspective (the tots are legendary and the sandwiches were all solid as were the drinks). However, the overall impression of the place was just...dirty and worn. Much of this is stuff you don't notice in the dimly-lit evening setting: grease stains on *all* the table-lamp shades, gross floors, wood trim everywhere is chipped and scratched-up, used napkins under the booths, etc. Realize this is a high-traffic facility, but it's tilted from feeling 'worn' to 'run-down' and neglected. Needs a cosmetic refreshing badly as I know other areas in the School do. read more

Always enjoy sitting on the multiple patio spaces. Came here during COVID, and since the outside is so spread out and the server wore a mask, I felt fine. No happy hour last time I went due to sourcing and COVID issues which was sad - happy hour tots are the best! (Still ordered the tots, full price :') lol). The pizza was good but still small for the price. Some items feel like a great deal, but some feel over priced. I mainly go for the environment and the atmosphere though! When the fires are going, it can get pretty smoky/smell, so keep that in mind if that irritates you! read more

The service here was incredibly disappointing. We were seated for about 45 minutes before the waitress came to take our order. It took another 20 minutes to get a vodka soda. We finally received our food after waiting almost an HOUR. All we ordered was a hammerhead bbq chicken pizza and a side of onion rings. The picture of the onion rings is the entire amount they served us. Yes, that's what you get for spending $14.50 on a plate of onion rings. The pizza was good, and made the wait somewhat worth it. I know Christmas 'lunch' time is not a great time to get the meal you've always dreamt of at a kind of a chain-restaurant, but you don't expect complete crap! We had reservations (not needed) today at lunch time. The mostly empty place was super DARK and the music (grateful dead, etc. NO holiday/Christmas music) was LOUD. We asked to turn the music down, but we were told it wasn't possible. We were there for one hour before someone took our order. It took another 40 min for our cold food to arrive. The entire visit was a big dud on Christmas. Such a bummer. Half of us drove over from Leavenworth and this was a halfway point. The food was awful, ambiance.... errr-not what we expected and service? Not so great either. And EXPENSIVE! Lesson learned. No more McMenamins. read more

Getting a table was instantaneous but so was the disappointment. Unfortunately an empty restaurant is a sign of bad times ahead. We were served ten minutes after sitting down, but waited for thirty five minutes for our food. This place was so mid. Lol we've been wanting to try it for so long and finally went for date night. We arrive during happy hour and ordered Cajun tots, Margarita and the drink that has a beer and a shot of whiskey. Drinks got us pretty drunk and off to a good start for the night but as we stayed longer, there was just no energy or liveliness in this establishment. Our plan was to stay until the live music starts at seven but we just couldn't make it. There was one lady who appears to be the manager, she did not seemed very friendly when employees had asked her for help. They were probably understaffed, but should still remain professional. Her attitude definitely set the mood for this place. Like many others have mentioned service was slow - we couldn't ask for a ketchup, water, and of course had to wave them down for the bill. The atmosphere sells this place 100%. Kid friendly, adult fun, loud music, great vibes and tasty food. It's easy to get in, pool and shuffle board are free and the pinball machines take dollar bills so no need for quarters. The menu is varied and easy to navigate but the lighting is dark in there. I hope you don't have eye issues or you won't be able to see it. My kids and I got pizza which was over done but the flavor was good. Pretzel bites were delicious. Though the beer cheese was served a bit cold. Chicken wings were the best part of the meal. Wow the voodoo sauce rocked my world. So delicious. They had really great blue cheese and ranch dressing which is hard to find usually. I only knocked this down a star because the pizza was over done and staffing sucks. Our dinner took 2 hours. McMenamins is a pretty popular name that comes up in conversation between my coworkers. They like to go here because it is nearby and they can go grab drinks or play some games. Personally I have not been to the other places in McMenamins besides the Woodshop. Our company had a gathering here a few times where they got pizza from the Woodshop. It was decent, nothing special but nothing bad either. The other day we went here for our coworkers going away lunch. We each ordered something different and shared a plate of tots. The tots were good but we all know it is hard to mess those up. I had the fish and chips. The fries were overly greasy and soggy because of it. The fish was greasy as well but crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, so in my opinion a well fried piece of fish. Personally, the whole dish was just too greasy for me and you may say that is what you get for ordering fish and chips; but fish and chips can not be as greasy as this meal was. They have tables inside and outside with a court yard. It is pretty quiet during lunch so you can go here for multiple occasions and have nice conversation. The parking lot is large and has lots of spaces on a weekday. Plus I heard there are multiple cool places to eat around McMenamins. read more

The servers keep the fireplace well fueled regularly - great job folks! The Bar is great!! Visited the Woodshop with some friends on a beautiful 65 degree March day. McMinnamins is lucky this location has such a good atmosphere, because the food is definitely NOT the attraction! Totally under whelmed with the Six Arms Goddess salad, ($7.25 for a 1/4 cup of dry chicken bits, on top of the already overpriced $17?) My husbands Sabertooth hot wings, while reasonably spicy, were quite a soggy mess. Our server was friendly, but fairly inattentive. All food and drinks were brought out by random waitstaff, without much follow up after plopping it on the table. And don't get me started on the smudgy, lipstick printed glassware... Alas - I will probably be back - I want this place to be good, and I love the atmosphere, but it sure seems that it is going downhill. The Woodshop is a part of Mcmenamins Anderson School. It's one of the restaurants located at the hotel. I don't have too much to complain about with my Anderson School experience at all... it was immensely enjoyable. Steven and I enjoyed the food, drink, the movie and the hotel room. The food was solid and consistent which I praise in my adventures to different McMenamins locations and that still applied to my experience here as well. We went to The Woodshop twice during our stay and felt like the service was slower than you'd think. Not to say that the place had no people and was slow which is more perplexing... no it was quite busy here and I suspect they were simply just understaffed which I'm sure wasn't a frustrating experience just for the customers! read more

We came here for St. Patty's to celebrate and the place was super busy even during the day (around 2pm). Word on the street is that Bothell locals like their McMenamins and it really showed during my visit here! In the Woodshop, the place has an indoor space with shuffleboard and a bar, but the large outdoor space with heat lamps and bag pipes playing was what we were here for! The Woodshop was smoky at times from the campfire that's burning on two sides of the outdoor area - but it helped us to stay warm while we were out there. The setting is nice. Service was fine. Despite the mayhem of St. Patty's, our server was very friendly - even though it was obvious that he felt rushed and busyyy with all tables he had to manage. Special kudos to him for being an awesome server at a holiday that gives people an excuse to get drunk! I ordered the Irish Coffee, which was a special for the holiday and wasn't all that impressed. The Jameson/main booze that was in the drink was not very much - and this was in both coffees that I ordered. The second time I ordered it, I asked for no sugar, but could taste the sugar, especially towards the bottom of the glass. I felt like I wasted 20 bucks on two drinks...with little alcohol and sugar. I was glad I didn't order anything else and instead, bar hopped around the McMenamins campus. We really enjoy the food and atmosphere here, especially when we can sit outside with our kids and dogs. When we go see a movie, we often order the burgers and tots to be brought in. The burgers consistently have great flavor and the Cajun tots have the perfect crunch and spice for our whole family to love. Went early on a Sunday evening for a change. It was very quiet, this place is usually packed when we've been there before. Nice selection of McMenamins beer and wines. Our experience with the food is variable. Sometimes it's delicious and other times it's not. My house-made vegetarian burger with tots was just ok and lukewarm. My husband's sliders were "ok" as well. They have shuffle board, pool tables, some TVs inside. Outside seating is near a beautiful garden area with many wood burning fire pits. Be prepared to smell like smoke if you sit outside. My advice is go for happy hour and appetizers! read more

Visited with friends. The service was acceptable. The lighting was terrible. We could not read the menus easily. It was chilly & there was no way to get warmer. Our server was pleasant & courteous. He explained there was no way to change anything. Now to the main complaint. The meals were less than OK. We ordered hamburgers with fries: the hamburger was OK but not for the price of $21 which is more than I have ever paid anywhere. The fries were not as good as McDonald's or Burger King. The fish was not up to standard either for $24.50; the fries were on the same level. Very disappointed in the whole experience. Overpriced for sure. I doubt we will ever visit again. We were seated quickly on. Saturday afternoon around 5pm. Place was busy a few large parties. But plenty of seating. It's LOUD in there, so if you're looking to have actual conversation this is NOT the place to go. We were seated at the back near pool tables and pinball machines. Again LOUD! Over all service was lackluster. We ordered the cheese curds to start, they were so over cooked the was no cheese inside them, they were dry inside just biting into fried hard crust was gross. I had the half of turkey sandwich the turkey was balled up in the middle of the bread in one big hunk instead of layered like a normal sandwich. The tater tots were much like the cheese curds, over cooked and hard also barely warm. The person with me got the Mac and cheese special, which tasted ok, but again was barely warm when it got to the table. He also got a side of fries, barely warm. Also ordered a dark beer the head in it was a good inch and half actually cutting the amount that we paid for by a few ounces. We will not be going back to this place. But we you like a loud atmosphere with cold dry hard food this is the place. read more

I have been coming here once a month for about a year and a half. Most of the time I have good food and service (I almost always just get the cajun tots) but this time I tried the queen Ann grilled cheese from the woodshop. Service was again good, they have great mojitos, and the tots were good as usual. The grilled "cheese" was the worst I have ever had! When I get a grilled cheese I expect it to actually have cheese, I want that pull of bread to be stringed together with dairy delishousness. This didn't appear to have much cheese at all, if any. Also the pesto was thicker than the soggy bread, and the pesto and tomato were only on the very center, at about 30% coverage of bread. So it turned out to be a soggy mess of flavored bread. Nasty nasty! I will still come back (for the drinks and atmosphere) but unlikely to get food again. read more
