Private sales to car dealerships, The worst has to be the dealership, I've been burned with bad cars. I've been screwed by financing, Becoming a dad meant no more muscle cars or vehicles I like. Practical it shall be. But my Astro van is starting to be a money pit and I refuse one more repair. I went online and found McManus who said they didn't care about my bad credit (575) just as long as I was employed and had steady residence they wanted to help me with my future credit (I'm in sales... that's a great line.) I called. Got Pre-approved with out them running a credit check. Could be due to CreditKarma. I wrote down all the cars I was interested in at the Wheat Ridge lot and went to check them out. Some cars weren't there... they switch cars to there other Golden location and some sell before they update their website which is understandable. I walked into the lot. Checked out ALL the cars that were there. 12ish. Sat in everyone of them and knew the price from the web site. Was not hassled by a sales person at all. Made up my mind and headed inside, I met the owner who simply asked my which one did I want. I said I liked the Mini Cooper but it was at the high end of my pricing. He said he wanted me to drive out with the car I wanted not the one I settled on. He gave me a generous trade in value for my van. worked with me on the monthly payments until we had come into my monthly ballpark and the entire transaction lasted 30 minutes and I drove out with a 2006 MiniCooper... Im not sure what was wrong with all the folks that put a bad review but I disagree with everyone of them actually. I had a great experience and left with a great deal on my trade in and a great deal on the vehicle I left with. He let me test drive almost every car on the lot with no problem at all , I believe he was honest with me 100% when he answered my questions bout each vehicle .He worked with me in every way possible to make sure I drove off in the one I wanted to fit my budget. He's even going to replace the windshield for me. I had no issues with nobody being there to help me or being closed .The owner himself helped me and he couldn't of done it better. My personal opinion is everyone that thought they were actually doing something when posting their bad reviews , my 1 good one and I know I'm not the only one out there makes all the negative ones just look silly. Approved by bank, all documents printed, cash in hand and appointment set. They aren't serious about selling cars, probably won't answer your call or actually have staff available to make a sale. Commuted 2.5 hours only to be told they're closed on the day on my appointment 10 mins away from the dealership. Simply got the vibe that they don't care about customers which leads me to think the described maintenance is more of a masking of lemons. Skip this place in your car search. read more

My Heart is broken. I just bought a 2011 KISorento from Sean and Trevor and it's now at KIA with major electrical issues. They had a cross hanging in the office but, it means nothing to them. Their position is to SELL, SELL and SELL again. The Lesser folk have no choice but, to trust these people when our credit isn't the best and this is what happens. I bought their extended warranty also which KIA told me may not even cover the repairs. WHY WHY WHY? does this happen to good people? Because we are desperate and trust people to help us. We were only 3 miles away with more than enough cash in our hand to buy the truck outright. But the salesman who answered the phone apparently is independently wealthy. He didn't want our money that night. He told us to come back tomorrow because they were closing at 5 pm. Oopsie, seems we found another truck at a different dealership. They got $12,000 in cash. I saw a few cars on their site that looked interesting. I stopped in and was able to look around the lot without be accosted, so the visit started out positive. I saw at least two cars I was interested in and went in to talk to someone. That is where this went downhill. They were accommodating on price, coming off the sticker price almost immediately - pleasantly surprising ... but then I asked to be able to have my mechanic give the car a once over ... and now we get to the source of 2 stars. As a car dealer, if you are not hiding issues why would you not allow for a car to be given a once over / 2nd opinion. Of course they are going to find things that need to be done ... it is a used car. And this is a negotiation ... Well not here at McManus - a flat no, we won't do that. Yes, they did offer to put it on a lift here at the lot ... even said I could have a mechanic come there to look at it ... but have you ever asked your mechanic to take a road trip? When pigs fly ... and that $100 or $200 charge to give you a full work up on the car (depends on the car manf.) ... well a road trip can double that price ... Bottomline, I came on the lot ready to purchase and left frustrated as well as feeling like they were hiding something potentially big ... Just could not feel like I trusted them and at least for me, I need to be able to trust someone from whom I am buying a used car ... (trust but verify). read more

Dishonest business practices! The worst car buying experience ever. I checked Craigslist for some cars in my price range. I found a bunch but about 4 were all at the same place, McManus. Great so we drive there and go straight to the cars they had listed on Craigslist. Turns out the cars were not at the price they advertised and they never gave a straight answer as to why their listings said one price but they are charging a price that's in some cases double the advertised price. They then tried to pretend maybe they were different cars that were advertised because, "we get a lot of red Dodge Durango's in." Right. So I pulled up the add from Craigslist which had the vin(vehicle identification number) for this particular car and bam, exact same car, the vin's matched. He then changed his tone and placed the blame on somebody else. Then still tried to sell me another car. GEEZ! Obviously it wasn't an accident. It's a PLOY TO GET YOU THERE so that their shady sales guy can try and sell you something else. It's crap! Get verification on the phone at least if you must go there. They are the most dishonest car sales reps and operation in general that I've seen. They're the reason used car salesman get a bad rap. When I told him that I couldn't make it in as I had said because my power wheelchair had broke down. Fair enough, but that statement was followed by being hung up on without them answering even a simple follow up question like "What else do you have?". Even told my husband to his face they don't treat all customers how they were treating him and weren't looking for a customer simply for us asking for carfax on the vehicle. Saying doing that was our own due diligence and they didn't care to provide it. They even asked us to fill out an application to simply TEST DRIVE. DO NOT COME HERE. I bought a car from here in July - I was really happy I found a great price but It has already stopped once so I had to have it towed to the repair shop they told me that I got sold a lemon - I paid 45$ for them to run a diagnostic check where they found multiple issues and estimated the costs for repairs to be beyond what I paid for the car . Very disappointing. Check engine light is on . And the car makes a loud growling noise when driven . I thought car lots and car salesman like this were only a myth something in the movies - but it's the real. You are better off financing a vehicle through a bank and going to somewhere like Tynans . I do not recall the names of the manager, salesman, and financial manager that I spoke with, but I visited this dealership in order to take a look at a particular vehicle that I found on their outdated website. After driving 1.5 hours to view this vehicle, I found that it was nowhere near the condition indicated on their website. I am a mechanic and car enthusiast, so I was willing to purchase the car in the current condition, but they were unwilling to negotiate on the price of the vehicle, despite the horrible condition. Apart from the fact that they are all con-artists, they have the physical appearance of con-artists. I should've taken more visual and auditory clues and asked more questions before considering purchasing this vehicle. I made it clear that I was a single mother using most of my tax refund to buy a commuter car. My credit was simply shot after the year I just went through with finalizing my divorce and needing to file a bankruptcy. My requirements were a vehicle that could last me at least a year, commuting 60 miles, with either AWD or 4WD so my kids and I could be safer driving in the winter. I bought an 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro for $3,000 + tax and dealership fees (KBB price for good condition which it was NOT). It has been nothing but a headache. I already put another $800 into it for a tie rod, alignment, radiator hose, and 1 power window. I've had no power steering for the last 3 weeks (upside: I've developed biceps for the first time in my life) and now it's currently not running at all. It needs a new fuel pump, rack & pinion, secondary air pump, o2 sensor, oil sensor, heating system repairs, a/c system repairs, the dash lights like to fade off randomly, driver door sometimes won't latch shut, neither passenger side window will roll back up. HONESTLY! What part of this list implies this vehicle is in good condition or even running condition? It should never have been put back on the market and should have been scrapped or parted out. I called them a couple of weeks later about some mold i discovered in the carpeting well I spoke with Trevor who was so rude and disrepectful to me on the phone and reluctant to set me up with appt ...but ended up doing so. Well, the morning of my scheduled appt John called me and left a message informing me that they refused to check it out. Bad experience and Horrible customer service!!! these folks are grade a assholes! we went there just shopping around...decided to have our credit checked to see available options. they immediately thereafter ushered us to a 2003 dodge pickup...and refused to even entertain the idea of another choice. then we said we would think it over...they waited a week and then the harassing texts began to my girlfriend. for two days she received texts wanting to know when we were going to better our lives by buying their truck! even after we told them we had went with another company...the great folks at a&b motors in Lakewood...they still tried to get us to come in and trade in my other car. the salesman couldn't even remember my name during our initial visit! how hard is it to remember Tommy? !? read more

Buyer Beware. Have someone come in to check out the vehicle you are buying, they don't do any type of maintenance on the vehicles they get in besides oil change and filling fluids. You could be financing a vehicle that isn't worth the money you are paying, plus stuck with costly bills, like I am. I went with them because they report to the credit bureaus, that was their schtick to reel me in to help repair my credit. Now I am stuck with a vehicle that isn't in running condition, with costly repairs that need to be done. If I had just gone to a "Buy here, Pay Here" place, at least I could have returned the vehicle with no issues towards my credit. read more

Colorado has the worst lemon laws. Last summer I found myself in a desperate situation and went to mcmanus to check out a volvo v70. I had another volvo with premium sound, navigation, and sports package for trade, but I was looking for something with less miles. I had to get the title and registration. The guys at mcmanus misinformed me about the location to get this documentation, and it took much longer. when I got back to this "dealership" they began rushing me to fill out the paperwork, claimed they had someone else interested. So as I am foolishly signing all the paperwork, I am just trusting everything is as what had been discused all throughout the day. I handover my down payment, and get the key. I walk out to the parking lot and can't find the car I had just purchased. So I ask them, and they point to another volvo xc70 that had 10k+ more miles, cost 3k more and I had not even test driven this car. I let them know that wasn't the car I bought, These clowns were swearing up and down about "no returns, the car is sold as is." very unsettling feeling that I just got scammed big time. I remained professional and explained there was a misunderstanding, I wanted the v70. The one guy was mocking me for being civil and told me ," The way I see it, you just bought yourself an obstacle, Whatever the outcome of this obstacle is, is completely on you, we don't have anything to do with that, Good Luck, we are now closed for the day." then slammed the door in my face. I begin checking out the sales receipt. I start getting angry, after what I see. These shady scam artist only wrote that I put $500 down payment instead of the $1000. I was told I would get $1500 for my trade in, but only received $700. and they didnt even run a credit check and stuck me with 22% interest which i was able to refinance. But the insurance was quite a bit higher for this xc70 than the v70 even though it had more miles and was the same year. I have had the car for 13 months now and have put over $5000 in repairs to get this car running. Replaced fuel pump, turbo, catalytic converter, front control arms, tie rods, ac compressor, rear main crank seal , all in the 1st month. I am basically paying twice for this car starting out upside down on the loan. Please, do yourself and anyone you know a favor, stay away from these vultures. the worst kind of people work here. and their mechanic does such a hack job. There was jb weld on 3 different valves and hoses, wood screws holding up panels and also under the hood. read more

Wow what a complete and utter disaster of a business they have. Talked to a gentleman named Collin about trading in a vehicle. Collin said he would talk to his superior and get back to me by the end of the day. Waited a week for a response and not so much as an email or phone call. Called them back and they said Collin doesn't work on Mondays. Went in just about 10 minutes ago on a Wednesday and talked to an elderly man asking if Collin was in. Said he wouldn't be in till after 10 and to come back then. I asked for a different sales rep since I'm frustrated that Collin never contacted me again. The elderly man was rude and aggressive and said plainly said, "No, I don't want to take the sale from Collin, that's his." This is in spite of me asking for another sales rep. As I was leaving, I said under my breath, "No wonder the car's been sitting for a month." He took offense to that and said, "Talk to me like a man face to face!" Extremely rude, arrogant and very aggressive! This business clearly doesn't respect customers. They don't return inquiries and they are confrontational when customers come in asking for information or more details or a request for a different sales representative.
