I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered the spicy chicken wings. The wings were quite small, maybe because I'm use to GMO wings. I enjoyed them enough though. I also enjoyed their fries.

My friend ate a side of onion rings. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, very tender and juicy. It is pretty unsalted, which I like, but my friend said it wasn't enough. The side of rich, brown gravy made up for it adding the right amount of saltiness to the beef. Carrots and peas were a tad soft, but flavorful and good mashed potatoes. I wasn't wild about the whole fried ones. The Yorkshire pudding was pretty dreadful and seemed to be backed hours prior because it was rubbery and chewy. The chicken curry was good, a little sweet, but good amount of curry flavor. Chips and rice were great. The onion rings were good. Not stellar, not bad. Just solidly good! Guinea's was perfect in terms of being served at the right temp and they have half pints, which made me happy! This place was very, very loud. It was distractingly loud, but if you want sports and good beer, you are in the right spot. Lots of families with little ones for dinner. Service was good.

I was dropped off in a lovely little village and happened upon The Lord Mayors during my walk. My friends and I were greeted by a very friendly waitress. I had my pint of Guinness and a yummy order of BBQ wings. My friends ordered Irish Creams and bar food as well. The service was excellent and the bar was quite cozy.

I got a kick out of seeing what appeared to be 1/2 liter beer/ale glasses but then it WAS a pub in Ireland. The prices were what I considered excellent as well. A bonus was the table full of what I would guess to be local musicians playing "traditional" Irish music, accordions, lots of guitar, a guy with 8-10 various flutes, tin whistles etc, another gentleman had various harmonica's, a drum (Bodhran) player and one of the guitar players had an Irish bouzouki - mandolin - lute kinda thingy that sounded beautiful. In all there were at various times from 9-12 players in all. The session was wonderful, playing the typical goodbye to love forever mixed with foot tapping let's be happy variety of tunes. Growing up listening to Irish music, I felt very much at home sitting there and it fit perfectly with the overall atmosphere of the pub, more like a gathering of friends not seen in a long time verses the euro-centric chic feeling of other places we happened across. If in Swords you could do a lot worse I'm sure, while not an expert on the Irish Pub scene, as I mentioned earlier this was an Irish American's mental image of of a night in Dublin.

The seafood chowder here is yet another variation - I only saw fish in there although the menu said shellfish, but there were large chunks of fresh and smoked fish. Since their posted specials (outside) are only available on weekends (thanks, sign - but at least they were honest about it before bringing me anything I had to pay for), I tried the posh fish & chips. It was pretty good - definitely not your usual fish & chips, and the portion was deceptively decent. The sauce was too light on flavour and portion to really work with the potatoes, which were perfectly crisped Irish golds by the way. The fish was crispy outside and had the hint of cured/salty-smoky on the inside, definitely a lighter smoke on the salmon than you might get in Canada or New York. I washed it down with something else you don't really see in the states, Smithwicks pale ale. (Unlike most Irish pubs, there were mostly lighter beers here, pales and lagers, with Guinness holding down the dark side alone.) Nothing to write home about, but at least I ended the day on a high note.

Second came and was much lighter in color, the first had a dark brown color. Second was lime colored. I asked if they brought me the wrong drink. The server too it back and brought a replacement like the first. They told us that the first was made with a bit of Guinness and was a special version. So I can't say what a true Irishman tastes like. The Kerry Way for my wife. Dingle gin with mint , cucumber slice and elderberry tonic. A tad bitter for our tastes but OK. Burrata - bread, cheese, and thin slice of charred squash, with some greens on the side. Very good starter. Lager battered cod -mint peas and fries. Good and very crisp. My wife had the chowder. It was OK, not as much chunks as some others. Service was OK.

Cauliflower burger was nice, although a bit dry. Seafood chowder was nothing special, but had a decent amount of mussels, prawns and cod.
