I love this airport bar! I just spent a few hours here the other day during my layover in Dublin Airport and had a few Guinness (shocker) and Smitwicks. The Guinness in Ireland is just so much better than it is in the States, so I just had to bite the bullet and exchange some of my money for Euros and down a few pints. The atmosphere is nothing special, but they do make it feel like you are in some old Irish pub...even though you were in an airport.

I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered the spicy chicken wings. The wings were quite small, maybe because I'm use to GMO wings. I enjoyed them enough though. I also enjoyed their fries.

My friend ate a side of onion rings. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, very tender and juicy. It is pretty unsalted, which I like, but my friend said it wasn't enough. The side of rich, brown gravy made up for it adding the right amount of saltiness to the beef. Carrots and peas were a tad soft, but flavorful and good mashed potatoes. I wasn't wild about the whole fried ones. The Yorkshire pudding was pretty dreadful and seemed to be backed hours prior because it was rubbery and chewy. The chicken curry was good, a little sweet, but good amount of curry flavor. Chips and rice were great. The onion rings were good. Not stellar, not bad. Just solidly good! Guinea's was perfect in terms of being served at the right temp and they have half pints, which made me happy! This place was very, very loud. It was distractingly loud, but if you want sports and good beer, you are in the right spot. Lots of families with little ones for dinner. Service was good.

The pub is quite large and can accommodate a large party such as ourselves for the afternoon. Lots of TV's to catch a match and craic to feel at home. We had a lovely veg soup upon our arrival to take the cold from the gravesite out of us and get the warmth back in. The soup was piping hot and light enough to leave room for a lovely tea sandwich or two. And the tea sandwiches were served with crunchy rippled cheese and onion crisps (Hunkey Dorys) that complimented the sandwhiches nicely. The service was a bit scattered but can't slag them considering we were quite a large party all at the same time. Once they got going they were friendly and attentive. The Guinness was nice, the tea and they make a lovely Irish Coffee as well. To you Uncle Paddy, it was an honor to sit in your local and celebrate you!

Thought provoking albeit populist musings on systemic corruption in Irish politics are always offered. If hunger in addition to an unquenched thirst draws you to Kenny's then I suggest the Planter's Peanut salad as an appetizer followed by Cheese 'n Onion Lasange. For smokers, the front patio offers spectacular views of the sun setting over Lorcan Avenue.

You'll find mostly regular older gents and some younger lads that are over to watch the match. Yes, you might be stared at if you're not from the area or their typical crowd, but they quickly stop caring and you can make this pub your own. Graingers has a good selection of beers and even some cocktails. You will also find a smoking area out back (heated), and there is plenty of space inside for large groups. They usually feature some local rock duo during most nights, and I'm pretty sure they still do quiz nights on Thursdays (which are quite fun, even for the 21-30 year old demographic). It's also vape friendly, as long as you are discreet and don't start blowing big clouds. If you do, just head out back or sit out front on one of the two tables to watch the world go by while vaping/ smoking. Pint of Guinness is 4.50 and you can get two cocktails for 10 euro. Bathrooms are usually mopped thru out the night, but can still be a bit messy. Then again, could be worse! If you're looking for a nice peaceful evening without too much excitement and / or just want to grab a pint to unwind and watch a game, Graingers is great for those living around.
