Seems like they have a hard time finding and keeping a good chef. It has been just okay the past several times we went.

You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The gals working at the counter were very friendly. My daughter ordered a catfish po-boy and I got a dinner portion of their Lo Country boil. I should have had the lunch portion as I ended up taking half of it home. The lo country boil was the classic shrimp, sausage, red potatoes and corn. It was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. The cocktail sauce served with it had a perfect amount of horseradish. We also shared an order of "firecracker" shrimp. So tasty. My daughter reports her sandwich was tasty if a bit bready. The portion of catfish on the sandwich was plentiful. Sally Mae's is just off the interstate and worth seeking out if you are in the area.

The mac and cheese was fine but not great, the brunswick stew was watery, and the banana pudding was super liquidy and tasted like sunscreen (my husband said soap lol). It was also mostly whipped cream somehow. The hickory bbq sauce was great, the hush puppies were fine with the cinnamon butter, and the cornbread was really good. The portions are also TINY for the price. Staff was nice but we will not be back.

I am sure glad he did. The is a full service restaurant with a nice lunch buffet. Fried chicken, sausage and onions, au grauten potatoes, rice and gravy, homemade pork rinds and collared greens. I had the buffet and I thought it was delicious and a great value. My lunch with a sweet tea was $8.50 out the door. I thought the fried chicken was moist and crunchy. They had a sauce with tomatoes, onions and beef that was perfect to put on top of the rice. The potatoes they had going was a cheesy potatoes with pork chop chunks in it. This was the best side dish they had. One of my buddies ordered the chicken salad and I thought this looked fresh and delicious as well. He liked it and said I should try it next time. I will come again and update my review.

The second time I went, I got fried chicken from the buffet. Two breast pieces and one thigh. Both breast pieces were very dry and hard, as if they had been under heat lamps all day, but I had arrived shortly after noon. The thigh piece was good. Cooked just right, juicy, and flavorful. Therefore, I gave an extra star. If you order water to drink, be sure to ask for lemon, because the water tastes pretty bad. The two people that ate with me were as unimpressed as I was.

No one greeted my party of 2 when we entered. We felt like eyes were staring at us. We had to find our own table and ask for instructions. It was very uncomfortable. However, we decided to stay and give them a chance. I don't know what occurred or why the change of heart, but once a server came everything else went very smoothly. The server was amazing. The food was dynamic and the drinks were tasteful. I would definitely go back and give my first impression another try. Hopefully, it was just an off night and they make all people feel welcome. I highly recommend this restaurant and if I go back and get a great first impression I will up my score to 5 stars

The side was cute and the inside was quite kind of an old building with established brick inside. When you walk in, it's kind of unclear what the next step is. We ordered the mushrooms appetizer as suggested by the waitress. It was a bit of a disappointment. Six tiny white mushrooms with cream cheese. I prefer portobellos waitress suggested ordering the fillet medallions. I expected filet mignon. It was actually not filet mignon but some other cut of meat sliced thinly on a bed of potatoes and asparagus. I thought the potatoes and asparagus were very good. My husband ordered the lemon garlic salmon. It was so salty he could hardly eat it. And there was no real garlic on it. And perhaps a squeeze of lemon I would say it was a decent restaurant, but I would not be driving the long distance again to go there.

I went to the Ole Times website to see the menu for Fri. and it had fried fish and country steak on the menu. I told my wife that sounded good so we went. We got there at 11:15 thinking the food would be fresh and good. They get your money coming in the door so you've already paid by the time you realize there's no fish or country fried steak, only some frozen meatballs in gravy and a lot of chicken wings, fried chicken, and baked spaghetti that was nothing but pasta someone waved some sauce over and topped with a bit of cheese. I asked our waitress what happened to the fish and country fried steak and she just said, "They don't do that anymore". We've eaten there several times in the past so we thought at least what they have will be good. WRONG! the chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease and none of the vegetables were seasoned properly. This place used to be good. Yesterday it was $30.00 plus tip for lunch and I left feeling like I'd been robbed. This is how you loose a restaurant. It was obvious they were putting out the cheapest food possible to save money. That is very counterproductive. People will stop coming if they don't like the food and you wind up loosing even more. That was my last trip to the 'Ole Times Buffet in Dublin Ga.

Best kept secret down this stretch of the South might just be Peggy's fried chicken…read more Now, a great many places have the confidence to fry a bird. That is not the same as knowing what they're doing. Plenty can make chicken hot. Fewer can make it memorable. Peggy's managed the rarer thing. This was the kind of fried chicken that makes a man quiet for a minute and reconsider whether he has properly valued his past blessings. They had other meats on the menu, and I do not doubt they were prepared by decent people with honest intentions, but ordering anything besides the fried chicken would have felt like showing up at a revival and asking for directions to a yoga class. And the sides, Lord help me, the sides were no afterthought. If I had not attended the funerals myself, I might have suspected my great grandma, grandma, and momma were back there in the kitchen, keeping an eye on the pots. Forgive me, Mammaw G, Mammaw, and Mom, but Peggy's had the better day with that chicken. I say that with love, respect, and a willingness to dodge a lightning bolt if one has been set aside for me. Fried okra, green beans, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese, which any Southerner with good sense knows is a vegetable when it needs to be, spread across our plates like a family reunion of the righteous. The only medical advisory I'd offer is this: if your doctor has warned you against coating your insides with salt, you may want to admire from a respectful distance. And the sweet tea was right. Not tea-flavored water with ambition. Sweet tea. Properly made. The sort that lets you know nobody in the building is interested in modern nonsense. Next time I'm rolling down I-20, I may well make the turn toward Wrens again just to see whether Peggy's can do it twice. But judging by the regulars, the handshakes, the easy way the staff knew folks by name, and the fact they made us feel halfway local ourselves, I'd say this was no one-off. This felt less like a lucky meal and more like the kind of place that still believes doing something well is reason enough to keep doing it.

My grandson and I were hungry so we scurried over to get a place to go because they close at 8:30. We were kindly greeted and informed that the cooks have left the building but they had buffet style. The server came out and prepared our to go plates with care. We ordered sweet ice teas, had great conversation and I'm out merry way. I had Chuck beef over rice, candied yams, lima beens and a biscuit. OMG the food was as it should be, comfort food. Every bite was delicious and that biscuit melted in my mouth. The ice tea was perfectly crafted. My grandson had fried chicken in Mac n Cheese. He didn't expound in its taste but he gobbled it up with no complaints. I would say that he enjoyed it. I know the locals enjoy this restaurant because it seems like Peggy's is a staple in the community. It's too bad that I won't be back here but I am glad that I supported this restaurant rather than going to a fast food that's close by. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed and by serving us with care. I choose chuck beef over rice, yams, lima beens, and a biscuit. I felt nostalgic eating this food reminiscing from days of past, living in the south and eating soul food
