Not that Albany tap water is all that bad, but I've gotten addicted to Purified Water to Go. Their…read moreimpressive looking system takes out pretty much ALL the bad stuff and leaves really good tasting water that I can trust putting in my body. I had been running tap water through a counter top filter or paying over $1/gallon for water that had been sitting on a shelf in a plastic container for who know how long. This is so much easier and tastes so much better. The main thing I want to say is that Pam has got to be THE nicest business person in the town! On just my second or third visit, she not only remembered me as I soon as I walked in, but knew who all my family members were, who was on which VIP "water" card, and was asking immediately after everyone's health and happiness, because she pays attention and knows who we are! After a couple years of happy water drinking there, it almost feels like going to visit a friend.

I have been going to the Nautilus for my tropical fish for at least 14 years. In a market in which…read morethere used to be several small, locally-owned fish stores, this is now one of only two left and I do not visit the others anymore. Maybe at some point I will review them to say why, but for now, let's focus on why I like this place. Pros: ===================== -This is a fish store, not a pet store. You won't find dog poop bags as one reviewer was searching for, nor will you find lizards, or kittens... you get the point. You will get an owner that knows something about fish. -Because he knows about fish, you can trust his advice and input. -If you want a particular plant, or fish, he can probably get it for you. And, unlike one of his competitors, he actually follows through. -His prices are very, very fair for his stock. The importance of this in a market increasingly dominated by big box pet store cannot be overstated. -I have never gotten a fish disease from his store. I cannot say the same for either big box chain. Cons: ====================== -This is a small owner/operator business. He has faced a lot of challenges since COVID and his stock is not what it once was. But this could change if hobbyists like me stick with the fish store in our community. -There is one person, the owner, doing almost everything on the at least 50 tanks he has running. Yes, I do see an occasional dead fish, but I can say the same of pretty much every fish store I have been in. And they all had multiple employees. In the final analysis this is my go to fish store. If you are a FISH person, rather than a show tank person - or just a casual pet person, it should be yours too.

We had this service for about a year in Newport. Very good deal vs. having bottled water that you…read moreconstantly have to purchase and then take the bottles to the store to regain your deposit. The pricing is very fair. Used to have the service at my work, but when the guy using it retired, it stopped. I contacted the owner to set up home service and rented the dispenser. You just leave your empty bottles outside on the designated day and they pick them up and leave the filled bottles. On the Oregon Coast, it rains, so the bottles were often brought into the garage wet. Also, when it came time to move, we put a note on the empty bottles to be picked up and it said to only leave 3 instead of our usual 4 and 4 was left anyway. Our normal delivery date was 4/22 and we were to be moved out by 4/21, so I figured we would have bottled water on-sight while we moved. I called on 4/17 and was told it would be picked up the next day and there was no refund for a full jug of water, even though we had specifically asked for 1 less jug and they gave us an 4th anyway. Outside of that one issue, I was very pleased with the service. They were always on time and I enjoyed not having to deal with a million plastic bottles every month as well.
