Every room has a private bath, flat screen tv, wifi, etc. There is a beautiful sitting room with books and games galore, which we didn't use lol. They have fridge full of pop, water, juice, etc., and homemade cookies or scones available at all times. They are also phenomenal cooks. Our breakfast must've had about 5 courses, and was better than any breakfast place I've been to in Chicago. Very impressive! They have their coffee custom roasted and blended, and it's by far the best coffee I've ever had. The people themselves are very down-to-earth and friendly. I'm not one for socializing with people, we stayed here because it was cheaper than a hotel, nicer than a hotel, and included a much better breakfast than a hotel. I was very surprised to find myself talking with them for a half hour at breakfast, and actually enjoying it! When gas becomes affordable again, we're looking forward to driving out to Middlebury and staying here again.

The owners, Kristen and Jesse, are very friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was comfortable and spotless, and they even included some thoughtful amenities like make-up remover wipes and a charging station with USB ports. The wifi was awesome too (although shame on me for using my iPad when I was supposed to be enjoying the country)! They have a shelf in the common area that is very well-stocked with all kinds of board games, so we lit up the fireplace in the cozy living room and passed a few hours playing. Breakfast was delicious - my favorite dish was the rich, buttery pecan french toast. Yum! Although we weren't there for an event, I also saw their gorgeous barn, which has been renovated recently and looks like it would be perfect for a wedding or a family reunion. The Inn is close to a sweet little town called Shipshewana, and for dinner we drove just a few minutes over to the Blue Gate restaurant for some of the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. Shipshewana has a large Amish community, and seeing horses and carriages on the road was the icing on the cake for our country getaway. I'd recommend the Patchwork Quilt Inn for couples, families and friends who want to spend a few days relaxing, playing, reading, and enjoying some peace and quiet.

Today I Googled the name of this inn and was happy to see they are still in business after all these years! I didn't know they were located in the heart of Amish Country. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Beiger Mansion for our 10th wedding anniversary…read more It was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. We had ample parking roadside. We began to appreciate the grand scale of this magnificent structure as we walked up the circle drive. Inside you start to appreciate the luxurious restorations all hand performed by the owner Ron as a culmination of his 30+ years in construction and interior design. The collection of pristinely preserved antiques are displayed through every inch of the interior. Despite the uniqueness of each piece, Ron has found a way to tie each room of the expansive 20+ thousand foot interior together perfectly, mirroring the original builders intent in the mid 1800s. We stayed in the stunning and spacious master suite, with its gold flecked walls with deep navy fleur de lis and double chandeliers cast a warm glow on our special anniversary. Ron provided a dura-flame log every evening, which burns clean in the functional fireplace. Every aspect to our lodgings supported elegance, from the sumptuous chaise lounges to the oriental themed paneled room divider. For these exhausted parents of two early elementary children, we felt like royalty. Ron and Dennis both hosted us in the wood paneled state dining room, where we could sit in a windowed corner sipping hot coffee made fresh and take in the grandeur. Our breakfast was custom made to our preferences with perfectly crafted vegetarian omelettes with maple bacon and well seasoned hash. Ron even fetched our dinner one evening from a restaurant downtown so we wouldn't have to leave our room! I had no idea this gem was hidden in Northern Indiana but I cannot recommend a stay Ron and Dennis's bed and breakfast enough. Dennis and Ron are consummate professionals who executed our event seamlessly. From the beginning, they were responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The inclusive nature of the venue made wedding planning relatively stress free - we just needed to handle the cake and photographer. The food, florals, DJ, decor, etc. were all handled through Beiger - and they were all fantastic. The food was definitely a highlight for our guests! Dennis did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly on the day of the wedding. The mansion is stunning inside and out, which made for amazing photos and ambiance. You can tell how much thought was put into the appearance of every room. Members of our family and bridal party stayed there for a few days and loved it. It was such a beautiful place to start our marriage. Dennis and Ron were so delightful to work with. We wholeheartedly recommend them for any event -- especially a wedding!

Definitely worth a couple extra bucks. Amanda (the owner) and her family are so welcoming and make you feel right at home with an amazing breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are incredibly clean, she brings cookies up every night and the fridge is always stocked with water and soda! The children are so precious and silly and make the rooms light up when they're around. Not even disruptive! There are movies to watch and DVD players and TVs in each room. We had the Solomon room. I'll put pictures down below. This family and business deserves everything wonderful. There's not much super close to eat so if you want a good place you may have to drive 20 or more minutes. There is a gorgeous porch out front that wraps around most of the side and is so nice to sit and just have a cup of coffee on in the mornings. Please please check this place out. I stayed in the summer cottage, everything was decorated beautifully in antiques and every detail was attended to, from the fridge with soda, chips and chocolate, and fresh homemade brownies that waited us. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a very friendly chonker cat named Lucy who will run up to you for pets (and might try to sneak inside the cottage if you let her). The breakfast was incredible with bacon, cheese eggs, perfectly done potatoes, and a platter of homemade pastries. The location is rural but it was close to the black pine animal sanctuary, and about 40 minutes away from Fort Wayne. It was a good springboard for all of the local breweries we planned to scope out, which there is a ridiculous amount of (or maybe not, you need something to keep you busy in these small towns).
