Do Not Stay Here -- Unsafe, Unclean, and Completely Unprofessional…read more This was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. After a long day of travel with two toddlers, we arrived only to be told that the room we specifically booked (with two double or queen beds) was not available. Instead, they claimed they were "upgrading" us to a room with one queen bed, a pull-out couch, and a kitchenette -- something we purposely did not book because it simply doesn't work for our family's needs. A pull-out couch is not an upgrade, especially when traveling with young children. Once in the room, things went from bad to worse. The TV didn't work, there were no linens for the pull-out couch, and when we asked, the front desk staff brought us one sheet and one pillow -- no full set, no comforter, and told us they didn't know where more pillows were. As we waited for more linens, we pulled out the couch and were horrified to find a bloody-stained mattress. That was the breaking point. When we expressed our concern, the hotel staff offered us two separate rooms, which again was not an option with toddlers -- we cannot safely split our family across two rooms. They then offered to call a neighboring hotel and pay for our stay there instead. We accepted, thinking the situation was finally being resolved. Unfortunately, it wasn't. When we arrived at the second hotel, we had to wait nearly 25 minutes with our exhausted children for the owner to arrive and pay for the room. When he finally showed up, he was abrasive, dismissive, and downright rude. He informed us -- very bluntly -- that he would only cover one night, not both nights of our original reservation. His "solution" was for us to go back to his hotel the next day and stay the second night -- after we had already packed up and moved once. I don't know about you, but I'm not taking my family back to a hotel with blood-stained mattresses, broken TVs, and no clean bedding. His lack of professionalism, hospitality, and basic human decency was staggering. This hotel is absolutely not suitable for families -- or anyone, really -- who expects clean accommodations, respectful service, and safe sleeping conditions. Avoid at all costs.

WORST property I've ever stayed at. While the room was "reasonably" clean for $80 a night, the…read morecustomer service was absolutely unacceptable. One front desk associate brought up politics, religion, and abortion during a casual conversation and became mildly aggressive when our views differed. I disengaged politely and left. When I returned, I gently explained that I wouldn't judge her but preferred to end the conversation. The hotel's towel exchange policy is fine in theory, but execution was awful. After work, my daughter and I gathered our dirty towels, and I sent her down to exchange them. The front desk woman yelled from the back that there were no clean towels--didn't even come out to speak to her directly. I called down, and was again told--rudely--that there were no towels and no idea when any would be available. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was cleaning rooms (at 5:45 PM) and would call me. No call came. After 2.5 hours, still no towels and no call from a manager, so I called again. The same associate said she was folding towels. I told her I didn't care if they were folded, I just wanted a shower and asked her to bring some up. She got even more rude, saying, "We're not a five-star hotel" and that I could come get them myself. I told her after such a long wait, the least she could do was bring them up. Only after I mentioned contacting IHG did she finally deliver the towels. The next morning, I went down to get coffee before work. The coffee machine said it needed to be cleaned. I asked the same associate that had previously implemented the polemical conversation to run the cleaning cycle. She refused with a nasty attitude, saying she didn't have to do anything. When I asked for a manager again, she refused. I explained that I needed coffee before work. She finally agreed but claimed not to know how long it would take--even though she admitted she'd done it many times before. I asked if it was a 2-minute thing or 20. She started cussing at me in front of my 10-year-old daughter and told me to leave. I said I was going to work, not leaving the property. She continued yelling, and my daughter began to cry. Eventually, Samantha, the front desk manager, came out. I'd dealt with her during a previous stay and was hopeful she would help. Instead, she responded condescendingly: "It seems like you've had issues with multiple people here." Meanwhile, her associate continued yelling. When my daughter asked her to stop cussing at me, the associate yelled at her to shut up and get the f*** out. At that point, I said I wouldn't tolerate my daughter being treated that way and would return after work to check out. A week later, and despite contacting IHG, neither I nor they have heard from the general manager.

I looked and someone took a huge grumpy in the room. I turned around and went back to the front desk... And here's why it's a two star review... I let them know what I saw and smelled. There was a manager there (I assumed, he never introduced himself) who asked what room it was so I told him and that was it... he went on with what he was doing... no apology... no what can we do to make it up to you... just give me a different room (not a king room like I booked)... It could have been handled with a little more empathy. It was feces, after all... There were some pluses like the evening reception options were pretty good (meatballs and garlic bread one night). The free beer is also a good thing after a long day. Breakfast was good but there was a lot of empty space in the breakfast area where food options are. No fresh fruit or granola bars for grab and go. I ended up with yogurt and biscuits and the most watery sausage gravy ever! At least it wasn't feces... The pillows were bad... they needed doubled up like most hotels. Man, if hotels only knew how much their reviews would be better with better pillows! I'm not just poo-pooing on the pillows (pun intended) for the sake of piling on, they were not good. Out of 8 pillows in my room, not one was "firm" enough. Finally, the icing on the cake was the coffee lids. They didn't stay on the cups so my cup of coffee for my drive in the morning was tossed! Get lids that match the cups? I typically love the Staybridge Brand, but this one just didn't cut it. I'd find another hotel if I came back to the area. I would hope the others have their S#!+ together... and out of my room!

It's just one roach, right? I had to buy giant Ziploc bags and put all of our items in them, to avoid bringing roaches home, and stored everything in our car. The third morning, I found about 100 baby roaches on the counter in the microwave in the bathroom in my soap holder, they were everywhere. It was horrifying. That morning, I went to the desk and reported the infestation issue. In light of the new situation, where it was an infestation, as opposed to one roach, I was assured I would have a full refund within 48 hours. The refund never happened, and when I called, I was told that they will only be putting points in my account.. I was told that after I left, the room was sprayed, and now the roaches are gone. I don't know how that helps me, but I definitely do not recommend this hotel! I have stayed at many Staybridge, and this one is not Staybridge quality.
