I have been going to City Smiles for a few years now, and it's the first time I've ever felt comfortable in a dental office. I do take very good care of my teeth (because I do anything to avoid dentists in general), and even though I've been there 4 times total, they welcome me like they saw me last week. This is business done right. Yes, providing awesome dental care, but the customer service makes you (almost) wish you had to go back again soon! Kim is awesome in reception, the last time Jessica cleaned my teeth, they looked like I had just had laser whitening done and Dr. Chelsea Mayer is thorough, quick to let you know what's going on and gentle. They billed my insurance in a way that looks like they double-billed me for the exact same procedure - so of course insurance won't cover the same thing twice. (Billed for "upper" and "lower" retainers but they don't specify these differences when billing insurance - they just send over two retainer charges to insurance.) And now I have an extra balance with Lowry that should be covered by insurance. I went around-and-around with my insurance and Lowry Main Street Dental for months and Lowry basically told me I'm screwed and they won't do anything to rectify the situation - they refused to bill my insurance in a manner that makes it clear that the charges were not duplicates. And when I explain this to the receptionist (man), he was rather snotty and said they won't adjust their processes "just because I want them to"...like this is all just my idea, not what insurance has instructed me to tell them. It's pretty sad when the insurance company is trying to work with you and the dentist office is not. Done with this place. Lawrence (hygienist) is the only redeeming aspect of this place. Be warned.

I have no doubt after my last visit where I was charged over $500 for cleaning, laser and antibiotics ($88 of which was "education" on how to brush and floss). These private equity DSOs are fleecing organizations. They push over-treatment, unnecessary treatment and monthly profit goals on their offices. I always got the best care at Lowry and the staff really do care, but I will not be a cash cow for corporate greed. My bi-annual cleaning became quarterly and each time I went in my gums (reportedly) were actually getting worse. I feel now that they were pressured to get me in more and get more procedures on me. They did a very professional job and are very talented. I definitely would have continued to go there but I no longer trust them or feel they have my best interests at heart. No fault to the amazing staff, just the corporation that's ruining their practice by choosing greed over humanity.

This was their mistake not ours but we were the ones who faced the inconvenience. We had to take time off work and school for an appointment that shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. What made things worse was the staff's reaction. Instead of handling the situation professionally, multiple front desk employees decided to involve themselves in the conversation, laughing, smirking, and making inappropriate comments. It was completely unprofessional and honestly shocking to witness that kind of behavior in a healthcare setting. In any healthcare office, respect and empathy should be the top priorities not mocking patients or brushing off their concerns. I'm genuinely appalled by how we were treated and disappointed that a dental office would allow this kind of behavior from its staff. I hope this feedback encourages the management to reflect on their customer service and make serious improvements. Patients deserve to be treated with professionalism and basic respect.
