Ugh we aren't trying to get perfect teeth like out of a dental magazine, just help us maintain good oral hygiene and health. And they do that at Hakala Family Dentistry. They are professional, and the office staff are friendly and helpful. They are centrally located in Glendale area and parking is never an issue. Weve been here for over a year now and they are very sweet and friendly but also professional when it comes to business. At another place they broke my tooth while " trying" to do a routine cleaning and it was a horrible experience. After 3 repairs there the tooth kept breaking so i was suggested to try aspen dental . They took me in , took a good look at the problem and even tho they told me it was a slim chance they tried their best and they saved my tooth! Super grateful for them and i kept my smile! The actual dental treatments have been good, but the office feels very corporate and impersonal. A recommentation for periodontal surgery was presented as "you need to have this done before you get your crown." When I pushed back, he changed his tune and backpedaled. Indeed, I DIDN"T need to have this surgery in order to get the crown. That interaction felt very dishonest, impersonal and like a sales pitch. I did get a periodontal consutation in their office and was told my that it would cost $90, but I was charged $136. I had to point out the discrepancy myself and remind them that I have Delta Dental, which left me concerned about how carefully my charges and insurance coverage were being reviewed. Once again, very corporate and impersonal. I expect my dentist the have my best interests in mind for both dental care and costs. This hasn't been the case. Dentist seem very robotic going from patient to patient and not very personal. Overall, not a warm, welcoming place. I miss Dr. Lee.

First dentist was when I developed a tooth ache on a front bottom molar. Ut had a chipped filling, and I assumed there was decay. Dentist said no and she could top it off. She did say, however, that 2 root canals on lower molars were failing and needed to be redone and that I had periodontal disease. Turns out the tooth that ached not only had decay, but needed a root canal. The lower molar root canals were not failing, and I didn't have periodontal disease. She did miss a front tooth root canal that was failing - had an abscess at the top of the root. Another time I had a molar filling done and within 2 mo a chip came out if the filling which has gotten bigger, putting it at risk for decay. They did let that first dentist go. The positive is the endodontist who works with this group. Stellar work, and neat guy. You can tell he's passionate about his job and cares about patients.

The people saying don't come to this office and that they scam you are correct, find anywhere else…read more As the other reviews say they perform services without checking eligibility with the insurance and send you a bill afterwards. I got my insurance company involved and one of the insurance representatives even said to their office that their system was giving incorrect information and the office said, "we've never had an issue so" (clearly they have given other reviews, also totally unprofessional) and they offered zero help in solving this billing issue. They've done this to multiple people. Save yourself the time and headache.
