Seasonal fruit & walnuts salad was great; beer was good. I would have give them 5 starts; but the barman was on his own planet.

The food was great! 4 of us came here for dinner while in town and the collective was if we are back in town here, we will come again. Great atmosphere, good drinks, and awesome food. read more

We visited based on others' reviews and were not disappointed. Our server, Adam, was great, suggesting excellent beers. The pub food was excellent-burgers and the fries topped with pulled pork and cheese-and plentiful. We were there in the late afternoon so the place was pretty empty but still a great choice for a laid-back beer and burger. Thanks to the reviewers for steering us to a super place! read more

The Shepards pie is wonderful. As is the house potatoes soup and blarney bread (a must!) none existent parking like anywhere downtown but it's worth it to park and walk. Super yummy and friendly :) read more

We checked this out this last time we were in town based on the few reviews. Not bad, service was very good for a Friday night but we were in early so not sure what it would be like later. I had the corned beef sandwich and it was pretty tasty. We ordered a crab dip appitizer and it was also quite good. Not a very big place but does have a friendly vibe. read more

Years ago the food was excellent. Food quality and quantity have cratered. I was shocked. Great beers. Bad food.

9/3/2013 Good beer and good food, friendly service, looks and feels like a pub. Too much smoke in the front part of the restaurant, but it still is an attractive pub, wood everything. The people in the restaurant at the time we were here all seemed to be enjoying themselves and their meals as well. It was a good crowd about 7:00 PM. read more

I have been to this place several times to drink and wanted to try the foods. Food was okay. However the atmosphere was sort of clique-y and the place did not feel welcoming. read more

great sandwiches and apps great selection on drinks too... LOVE THIS PLACE super fun read more

Great food, great drinks, wonderful atmosphere. Has a good old fashioned pub with modern amenities to it. Food was great, a great mix of irish and american. Lots of seating too, with very little wait. read more

This is a nice little pub with a decent beer selection. It's nice enough but definitely not pretentious. I got the Delmonico steak and it was cooked correctly but a bit fatty and fairly thin. Other folks got the fries and thought they were good. So I guess the summary is it's quite nice for a neighborhood pub but the food could be better. Service was friendly and again unpretentious. Worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

Came here at the beginning of the year for an alumni gathering. Upstairs is pretty cool, bartender was good. Space is kind of small though. read more

Food was good with hearty portions. I had the PUB.L.T with fries which was great. Husband had pub beef sandwich which was also good but his fries were over seasoned and too salty to eat most of them but he didn't need the fries as sandwich was filling. Only complaint is that I don't feel it's suited for a larger group of people as they dont really reserve tables, it's first come first served so that was initially a challenge with our group of 12 but the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to try and accommodate us. Our server was great! read more

Came in, visiting from Philadelphia for an art show, got a beer, waited a bit after at a table moved to the bar for easier faster service. Got the habanero Garlic wings, sweet, ordered theduck boxy, my boy got the crabcake entree. Duck Came out burnt boxy half cooked, was real upset with it. Turned out, the owner was sitting next to us, real cool guy. Asked me about the food, after over hearing me talking to my boy about the sub par entree i received... Sent me out food that was worthy of this review. The Duck boxty was the second time out. Get it... Juicy the chipotle jam was sweet, spicy, and complimented the properly cooked duck and boxty perfectly! Overall between the cool owner who actually cares about his business and wants to see it do well, which is keyduring these hard times, and the best duck I've had in a while I'd day it's worth an hour and dirty one minutes drive to come back. Thank you Gary, it was a pleasure meeting you and dining in your establishment! I wish you the best of luck as this pandemic ends... Hopefully sooner than later read more

Food was excellent, beer options were both local and national on tap. Real cozy tables however, felt like I was having dinner with the table next to me. read more

I've gone with my friend a couple times. The food is typical bar food/pub food. This place is good to go for a few drinks after a busy day or on the weekend. read more

This is an OK place. Had the Pub Salmon and garden salad. Both were fine. Very busy, so clearly one of the places to go in Harrisburg.

Great pub / restaurant with a great bar with a great beer selection. 22 drafts and 40 bottles. Very good service with knowledgeable staff. We had the turkey burger (best ever) and the McGrath burger( outstanding). Huge portions of really good food, nice atmosphere and a must visit in Harrisburg. read more

We stopped in on the way to Hershey Park - Seemed like a popular spot for happy hour with the afterwork crowd. We enjoyed the drafts and the salmon fish and chips, wings, and shepherd's pie. read more

The beer list is extensive and the food was delicious. I got the pulled pork sandwich. The pork was tender and juicy. It comes with cheese which is unusual for me but I honestly loved it. The fries were hot and flavorful! Everything was so fresh! I will be back next time I'm in Harrisburg. read more

The only place I feel comfortable drinking in harrisburg. The staff is friendly and always takes the time to catch up when we come in.

Great food; lousy service. The bartender was the only person working the entire bar area. During Happy Hour, that means about 30 thirsty/hungry customers. One guy isn't enough. All draft beer is half price during happy hour. The burger was awesome and the salads looked very good too. Just have to be patient . . . read more

Came in and easily got a seat. The bartender- Joanne greeted us immediately and explained beer and menu options. I got chicken fingers with buffalo sauce (which was great...spicy and flavorful). My fiancé got the bacon cheeseburger and said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. The beers were delicious and the music was great. We're new to the area and explained that to the bartender and she took the time to help point out fun places in town to go to. She also introduced herself and other waiters/waitresses and made us feel welcome. I love this place. Just take my money, McGraths. I love you. read more

Big juicy burgers w/ thick bacon, home made fry/chips, great wings and blue cheese. Friendly staff. Kind of cramped and very loud! But an all over great experience. read more

Stopped in after staying in a nearby hotel. Their food was great! The bacon and cheese fries were well worth the 5 pounds I gained from eating them. The bacon on those is so good! I got the filet mignon which was every bit as good or better than a higher scale restaurant. The service was fantastic and I would spend many meals in here if I lived nearby. Plenty to eat and drink! read more

This place is a solid four stars. I had the Salad 202 with blackened salmon. The dressing came on the side which was great because I only needed half of it. There were tons of different flavors from all of the elements of the salad and the salmon was cook properly and was tender and juicy. The atmosphere is pretty standard Irish pub as advertised. The service was polite and efficient. The price was reasonable and there is free WiFi. I would go back and order the same dish again. read more

This place was cool, awesome bartenders. Then I asked for 1 game to be played on 1 TV of the 4 showing in the bar. Who I presume to be the owner refused to show it because ND was playing on all TVs, he then mocked me. Total ass hole and was arrogant about the whole exchange. I respect his right to do what he did, but his arrogance as a business owner was unwarranted. Never go to this place. The customer is always right, and the guy running this place is a raging dickhead. read more

Co worker was moving to Phillipines and we decided to go for burgers and beer, upon his recommendation. Friendly people here and nice after work crowd. Small bar area of about 6-8 seats. Bugers were very tasty and cooked to our preference. Will be back here. read more

I just had the best burger of my life...the vietnamese burger. Also, had their fish and chips...fish is salmon. So awesome! Bartender mark is a beer expert and will guide u to finding ur perfect beer, had no idea mine is Palm, but love it. Go here! read more

Food was good, though the soup tasted like it had come from a can or a mix. Other items tasted fresh and unique. The atmosphere was pub like. The cooks even sat at the bar and had a beer (it was a slow afternoon). The music was great-like someone got into my old mix tapes from high school! All artists from the UK. I say that McGrath's fit the bill of what I was looking for- a cozy, tasty lunch with my husband. read more

Wow!!!! My taste buds are in heaven! McGraths is the place to be in Harrisburg, pa. 5 stars

We stopped here during a weekend trip to Hershey Park and McGrath's may have been the highlight of the trip! Chili was the special of the night and had a delayed heat that was phenomenal. Our waiter/bartender Jim provided perfect beer recommendations, jokes all night, and serious entertainment as we bonded over mutual Eagles love. Overall, great night with friends and we will definitely stop in again next time we're in town!! read more

This is the best bar in Harrisburg pa the bar tender the kitchen and the magnate 100% Tom the owner is the best

I'm a picky eater and I thought the shepherds pie was excellent! The waitress was extremely busy but very good in spite of it.

McGrath's Pub smelled like an ashtray. Even the bar tender was smoking. News Flash: Non-Smoking bars are in the majority, and patrons now expect a Non-Smoking establishment. I will not return. read more

Although McGrath's is a longtime favorite, I've never felt compelled to write a review before. This changed when I stopped in and had the Pub Salmon (which is the focus of this review) for the first time. The dish consists of four lightly breaded salmon strips served on a bed of greens. The strips were fried perfectly, with a deeply browned breaded crust that really gave a nice and pleasant crunch with each bite. The salmon on the inside tasted really fresh, as if it were poached. The delicate flavor and dense texture of the salmon contrasted very nicely with the savoriness of the crispy batter, which was substantial enough to hold the strips together, but not so heavy that it overpowered the salmon. While McGrath's always knocks the traditional pub fare out of the park, this new experience was a very welcome surprise! read more

McGrath's is a great bar in Harrisburg. Bartenders are always very friendly, and they have a great selection of beers on tap. Make sure you sit at the bar or the tables in the bar area. Completely agree with the comment below: Beware of the RUDE waitress (skinny with long dark hair). She seems to forget that her wages come from tips. I had a similar situation as the reviewer below. The McGrath Farmhouse salad is very good. read more

Good food, good beer, good service, great pub atmosphere.

This is Harrisburg's pub for hipsters. Go upstairs to the 3rd floor, there are games like darts and awesome decor. The drinks are reasonably priced and delicious! The bartenders consist of adorably tattooed ladies, so make sure to leave them good tips! read more

Good place, good beer selection and good food. I would recommend the chicken pot pie. This place is a good place to hang out even on the weekdays. read more
