Disappointing Property Management
McGill's management, and property manager Brad in particular, have been incredibly disappointing. Communication is consistently poor, emails routinely go unanswered, and residents can wait months to be notified about important changes to the bylaws and community rules.
There also appears to be blatant favoritism toward certain individuals associated with the
HOA board, while other residents struggle to get even basic questions or concerns addressed.
Offensive flags have been allowed to remain, which raises serious questions about whether community rules are being applied consistently and fairly.
There was also a concerning incident after I emailed him about a consistent problem going on here. Instead of addressing the issue, he retaliated by driving to my home in the middle of the night and sending me a warning about a light being out.
When Brad does respond, the replies can be completely inappropriate and, at times, seem to indicate that he doesn't even understand who he is responding to or the issue being addressed.
He routinely shows up to our bi-monthly HOA meetings seemingly unprepared and disconnected from what is happening in the community. When residents point out things that should have been handled or completed, he can become overtly argumentative rather than taking responsibility and addressing the concerns.
We have contacted Brad's supervisor, Chris, about these ongoing issues. Unfortunately, Chris has been equally condescending and dismissive and has given the impression that he has little interest in addressing residents' concerns or improving the situation. Despite bringing these issues to his attention, we have seen no meaningful improvement.
We have also reached out to CEO Kim Merrigan, and higher manager Daneen who, like Brad, has failed to respond. When residents repeatedly have to escalate legitimate concerns simply to get basic communication and accountability, something is clearly wrong with the management structure.
At this point, it honestly feels like having zero customer-service skills is a prerequisite for working here. Residents deserve a property management company that communicates, responds to emails, comes prepared to meetings, applies rules consistently, and takes its responsibilities seriously. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience with McGill's management.
The emails I've attached are a perfect example of the communication issues residents are dealing with. Brad responded to my emails as though he were communicating with a former HOA board member, rather than the current resident who was actually contacting him about ongoing issues in the community. His responses were not only inappropriate for the situation, but demonstrated that he either failed to read the emails carefully or did not understand who he was communicating with. When a property manager cannot even accurately identify the resident he is corresponding with, it raises serious concerns about how much attention is actually being given to residents' concerns . read more
