We visited both of their stores in the greater Scottsdale area looking for an authentic Native American area rug. The salespeople at both stores were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful, without applying any pressure. It was a wonderful experience. We saw several rugs that we liked in both stores, but it is difficult to envision them in your home with your furniture and the interior colors of your room. No problem: they offered to bring all four rugs to our home the next day (Sunday) to see how they looked in our living room. The owner, Ed, and his two helpers, showed up on time and laid all four rugs out in the allotted space so that we could compare them, side by side. Who does that? They do! When I called the place of purchase they weren't any help but when I called Ed the owner of Az Rug Co he explained that cheaper rugs use latex glue which then dry like sharp nails. I can take a hammer and pound them down! Also, every time I vacuum, I fill the drum with wool, it's called shedding b/c Ed says they used cheap material! Not only did he point out where the edges had been damaged (the others did not do that). When we picked the rugs up you could not see where the repairs were made. As seniors, expensive carpet that we might not be around long enough to really enjoy, almost made us re-think our decision and just move some furniture around. Coming home one day, we noticed Carpet Closeouts hidden behind their truck and decided to see what they could offer. The place has every manufacturer, color and type you can think of and we started looking through books of samples. Dan then appeared and asked what we were looking for. I mentioned our age (obvious by all the grey hair) my hesitancy about the cost, and that I was looking for a non-loop, muddy color that could withstand our dog. I actually had a book open to that exact thing. He asked if I was committed to that particular color selection and then led me out to the warehouse. My initial reaction to the roll of pet safe carpeting he showed was that it was too gray (although it did meet the "dirty soapsuds" color I had described). At half the cost of the ones in the sample book, I realized it was perfect. I appreciated that there was no hard-sell, just multiple options and information. We gave a deposit, they offered suggestions for installers (we got a great one) and our new floors were put in a few weeks later. The color looks great, the feel is good and we love it.They carry a great selection and are very low-key. There were some really great deals on high-end carpeting in that warehouse--especially if you did not need large quantities. We highly recommend.

Experienced horrible customer service and unethical business practices w/Baker Bros. No prior…read morewritten or verbal communication from sales person to night before install re: needing very large public space to cut carpet day of install. Sub-contracted installers show up. Marcos 'lead installer'; refused to park in designated spot to accommodate his large trailer then tells us there's nowhere big enough on property to cut carpet & install! Condo is empty, we are moving into it next day. After calling salesperson about having no idea large space was needed to cut carpet then finally connecting to GM Paula about inexplicable lack of communication on BB part (she agreed), Marcos assures me he can & will cut carpet at Bb warehouse then return within an hour or so & install master bedroom carpet. Installers leave & never return. I spent hours proactively following up on where Marcos was only to be told by Chris (Marcos supervisor) he allowed Marcos to go home b/c Marcos wasn't satisfied with designated parking spot! Said he felt it was "a hostile work environment." every vendor has parked there; no vendor ever complained nor refused to park there. Marcos lied to me about completing job, Chris complicit in this lie. I prepaid thousands of dollars to have a subcontractor take it upon himself to walk off the job b/c he 'didn't want to get another ticket from the police' (parking spot 100% legit/legal numerous people from management team trying to accommodate him). Paula & Chris then assure me that carpet CAN be pre cut at warehouse. After a very long & exhausting move, Paula at BB did a 180 by denying they ever told me this saying "no one at Baker Brothers from salesperson to scheduler to Paula to installer was aware nor educated on the type of carpeting I ordered...sorry." Paula repeatedly dismissed that Marcos lied to me/blew us off. Ended with passive aggressive 'we apologize that you're feeling frustrated.' No accountability on BB part. Refuse to reimburse me...keep saying I have to find a space on property for them to cut carpet!! Paula & Chris refuse to tour property themselves despite 2 invites to do so. Local media (ABC/FOX) doing investigative piece on Baker Brothers unethical behavior, poor customer service and questionable legal subcontract hiring practices.
