I took two embroidery machines in for service and repair. They gave me information on cost and when the machine would be ready for pick up. They repaired both machines and the price was very reasonable. I loved the great customer service I received. Will be telling everyone what a great experience I received. read more

Dishonest and predatory--don't trust them with your machine. Should be NO STARS. I took my Juki TL-2000qi in for service for a minor mechanical issue and was told I would be called BEFORE any repairs were attempted. Two weeks later, I got a call letting me know that my machine would no longer power on and the technician had blown two of its fuses. Not only that, I was told they "couldn't get parts anymore" because my machine was "an old, inferior internet model." None of that is true--my TL-2000Qi is only four years old, well reviewed, still in production, and purchased from a local authorized dealer. The machine worked when I dropped it off. When I picked it up, it would not even power on. Instead of fixing the damage done in their shop, they tried to cover it up with lies. Do not trust your equipment to this shop. read more

I LOVE them McDougals Sewing Center! I left my brand new out of the box Singer sewing machine with Humble Sewing Center for approximately 3 months and was ultimately told that there was no way to fix the machine (the feed dogs on this machine did not work when I initially unboxed it - a gear was broken but I had purchased the machine on a flash sale a few years prior to opening it and it was not eligible for return). I questioned Humble Sewing Center and asked whether I understood them correctly that my brand new, never used, $500.00 sewing machine was essentially useless and they said yes. I retrieved my machine from Humble Sewing Center. On my way home I contacted McDougals Sewing Center and explained my situation. The awesome technician told me to drop it off and they would take a look at it although they made no promises that it could be fixed. I dropped it off at their location in JoAnn's in Spring,Texas and waited anxiously. Approximately 3 or 4 weeks later I received a call from McDougals Sewing Center asking whether I would authorize the purchase of an approximately $11.00 part for the machine. I did and my machine was fixed within a couple of weeks! I highly recommend McDougals Sewing Center! I've also taken a couple of quilting classes there and it is delightful! read more

So, upon arrival this shop is overwhelming. But, luckily the staff is at the ready to help you navigate the sewing machine selection to find what is right for you. I came in knowing what brand i was looking for and told the saleswoman all the activities i would use the sewing machine for. With this she led me straight to the machine i ended up buying. You can test the machines and find what is comfortable and the saleswoman was great at talking me through features and understanding the machine. A perk to purchasing a machine from this business is that all and any repairs that are needed are taken in store and not sent out. So, therefore, your repairs will be done much faster than sewing establishments i have encountered in other states. Also, you can take as many classes as you would like to get comfortable with your machine. The only downside is that the ones available in the next 3 months were all on business days and during business hours. I can't take these because i work full-time so I would appreciate a weekend class or one at 4 or 5 o clock. read more

The employees are very knowledgeable and eager to make you feel comfortable with their machines. Do you know how awful it is start a project and then become stymied over some small detail forgotten as to how to make your embroidery machine work?? I do; but I have relied on the professional, knowledgable ladies at McDougals to save the day! They have certainly done that for me this week. If you like shoddy service (that is if you can even get serviced)and no communication this is the place to go. I have had nothing but the run around from them in getting something serviced and they have not kept promises to call back. Not sure what other alternatives there are in the area but I would not recommend them at this point. read more

Their service department will keep your machine for weeks on end and then claim tgey cakled you for information. They appear to avoid warranty work like the plague. read more

Had my designer Ruby since March 8 for specific problem, finally "fixed the middle of May. I picked up May 26. Paid $140.00 for cleaning. Got it home still the exact same problem. Called told me it needed a part they would order it and to bring it back in in about a week or 10 days when part arrived. Called verified arrival of part. Took the machine back June8. Called to see if ready July 3. It is ready. Drive 2 hours to Katy on Saturday, July 7. They bring the machine out. No embroidery arm. Finally they come out to tell me they have not even worked on the machine yet. Four months. And it has not been fixed. Picked my machine up and will have it worked on elsewhere. Each trip to Katy is a two hour drive. We have now made three trips. Not even a sincere apology. read more

They have serviced all of my machines in a timely manner and have been quick to answer any of my questions. I have purchased three rather expensive sewing machines from McDougals. Over all they have been reasonable business people. In October I purchased a very expensive quilting machine which was set up in my home by an employee of McDougals. Shortly after that a metal piece fell off as well as a bunch of screws. I was not sure I wanted to try to reassemble this very expensive piece of equiptment. So I called and actually spoke to the woman who was in charge of assembling my machine. She asked me to send her pictures of the fallen part and where the screws fell out. I did that. No response. So I reemailed a message asking why I had not heard from them. Still no response. I do not know if this is a global problem with Mcdougal or an individual problem with this particular employee. However I felt this review was important to write considering the expense of the machine and my persistence in asking for help. read more
