And I thought I would have to give up on my desire to pop back in to The Ruck for a pint. On the way back to my hotel, I decided to just check to see what Dave and crew had on tap. Egads! Seriously folks, this bar is an embarrassment of riches. I only wanted to have one beer, but I left with three. Two I enjoyed on site, Hill Farmstead's Susan and the brewery's Society and Solitude #13. These are heavy hitters, and even just two five ounce pours put me in a place where I felt it would be imprudent to have a third. Fortunately for me, the crowler machine was fully functional, and I was able to grab an oil can of Weldwerks Xtra Xtra Broccolli to go. Beer names are stupid, but they will not dissuade me from drinking something delicious. Sadly, Dave wasn't there, so I didn't get to say hi, or shake his hand, or thank him for his hard work of managing such an epic tap list. Regrettably I rolled in late in the evening and the kitchen had already closed. No wings for me. Not even one of their special deviled eggs... which sounded delicious, btw. Welp, it was a very very good reminder for me to get back to Troy, arrive earlier in the evening, and move The Ruck back up to the top of my list. You Trojans are lucky to have this joint. Go there. Often. And rejoice.

The drinks came out quickly after we ordered them. The food took a decent amount longer. While we did wait 30 minutes for our food when it wasn't very busy , when it did come out it was hot and delicious. Flavorful wings, yummy disco fries/tots and some of the most well seasoned onion rings I've ever had. The atmosphere of the restaurant is classic pub food bar place but was well cleaned. Other than having to wait a little longer than usual for our food it was a great experience. We were so excited to eat by the time it came I did forget to take a photo of the food but it was all portioned well and well seasoned.

We ordered two beers, including Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, which she said comes with or without maraschino cherries. Of course I had to try it with cherries and it was great! For lunch, my boyfriend and I ordered the Cheesesteak with peppers and Chipotle mayo. You can customize it to your liking by choosing two toppings and a sauce on it, which was awesome. I ordered the quesadilla with pulled pork. Both arrived piping hot and were fantastic! Both dishes had tons of meat on them and tasted great. We're looking forward to returning for dinner as well as breakfast, which they just launched. Highly recommend this gem in Cohoes!

To explain, the ribs were excellent. They were tender, flavorful, and had a ton of meat on the bones. In similar fashion, the brisket was pretty tasty. To breakdown, the brisket had nice flavor with a good amount of fat around the edges. However, the middle of the brisket was a bit overcooked. It was still enjoyable though. After that, I tried the fried pickles which were delicious. The pickles were crispy with a savory and salty taste. These were simply great fried pickles. As a final point, Signal 30 is a really good BBQ restaurant and I highly recommend the ribs and fried pickles.

The Western Ave Herbies location has been our go-to spot in the past. Very clean, friendly staff, great food. Visit to Troy Herbies in spring 2026 was ok, not great. Visit for take out 6/24/26 was horrible. We should not have eaten it. Customer area floor and logo carpet were absolutely filthy. Then I noticed the smell. I moved around a bit and realized the smell was coming from the trash - like it hadn't been emptied in several days. Rotten food odor. I like Herbies and keeping my money with a local chain. I will never visit the Troy location again and it'll be a long time before I go to another Herbies location.

We all ordered double cheeseburgers and shared a loaded fries for our party. The double cheeseburgers came in the most adorable little sleeves and were reasonably priced at $9.95. I am not an onions or thousand Italian dressing person and the girl taking our order was nice to let me know and be able to remove them from my burger. The burgers are grass fed which is a huge plus. They also have GF buns and vegan options as well! The loaded fries were heavy with cheese and caramelized onions and delicious. We orders two of their famous milkshakes to go one chocolate and one strawberry. Highly recommend the strawberry as there is no food coloring and it was amazing and super thick. The parking outside is street parking and you can easily find a spot.

Despite her being the only person up front, she warmly welcomed everyone and the service was great. I ordered this as takeout and just had to take a couple of bites in the car before going home to try it nice and warm. This kind of sandwich is hard to find. A special roll needs to be used for this called a kimmelweck roll. A kimmelweck (or kummelweck) roll is a crunchy, Kaiser-type bread roll topped with coarse salt and aromatic caraway seeds, primarily known for defining the Buffalo, New York, "beef on weck" sandwich. Originating from 19th-century German immigrant traditions, they are usually filled with roast beef and soaked in au jus. The sandwich was loaded with juicy flavorful roast beef. The bun had caraway seeds and coarse salt all over the top of it which complimented the beef deliciously. It also had a horseradish sauce on the sandwich, so good. It was served with tasty fries and two little cups of au jus. I would definitely order this again.
