Everyone was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and welcoming despite how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday morning. The atmosphere is cozy, homey, and has that classic neighborhood diner feel. & that vanilla milkshake?! Easily the STAR of the show! It tasted like a REAL old fashioned vanilla ice cream milkshake literally thick, creamy, nostalgic perfection. 100000/10 The not-so-good: There's no waitlist or designated waiting area so the entrance got pretty crowded and it was a little confusing figuring out who was actually next in line. My friend and I waited about 1.5 hours to be seated. Once we got seats at the counter, we could see what looked like one chef handling most of the orders, so it quickly made sense why things were moving slowly. Even then, I have to give the staff credit, they stayed incredibly patient and friendly through the rush! We both ordered the crispy pancake special and our food came out about 45 minutes after ordering. Now...the pancakes. My friend and I specifically came after seeing the viral TikTok video of the crispy pancakes, so expectations were HIGH. Unfortunately, the pancakes fell pretty flat for us The edges were crispy but the pancakes tasted noticeably fried and oil heavy. The centers were pretty soggy and the batter itself didn't have much flavor to balance out the oil. I ordered my eggs over medium, but those were also drenched in oil. The bacon was actually nice and crispy, but by that point, my taste buds had clocked into an oil refinery. Service: 100000/10 Ambiance: Cozy & homey Vanilla milkshake: 100000/10 Food: Unfortunately, 0/10 for me Overall, I'm glad I tried Maggie's for myself. The people and hospitality were wonderful and I'd come back for that milkshake alone if there were no wait! Sometimes TikTok sends you to breakfast heaven and sometimes it sends you on a 3hr quest for a really good classic milkshake!

My favorite lunch order is the Chicken Caesar Wrap - perfect ratio of chicken, lettuce, cheese, dressing, and croutons. The wrap is always well constructed and never falls apart mid-consumption. When I moved away from Vallejo, I thought about this wrap often. For dinner, the wings are always a solid choice - korean bbq, bbq, buffalo - all equally good. The wings are a good size, an even mix of drums and flats, the chicken is always moist and the sauce ratio is perfect. Best wings in Solano County. The M.I.B.C. Burger is another favorite, always cooked as requested, the meat is super flavorful and the toppings - cheese, onion, sauce, and arugula fit perfectly between the brioche bun. This is also served with fries - always served the right amount of crisp. For beers, I prefer to drink the War Bond. However, I can vouch for the fact that all of the beer here is good. Also, all of the staff here are super friendly and helpful. Best neighborhood bartenders, best views of the sunset. We are lucky to have this spot in Vallejo.

The onion rings were good too, although I wish they used the same batter as the fish. The food wasn't served quite as hot as I would have preferred, and they were pretty conservative with the condiments. That may be intentional given the location and the likelihood of non-customers helping themselves if everything was left on the tables. I asked whether the beets in the beet salad were freshly roasted or canned, and I was told they were fresh, so I ordered it. It was good, but something wasn't quite as fresh as I expected. It may have been the walnuts--I think they would have benefited from being toasted--or perhaps another ingredient. I'm very particular when it comes to beet salads. I also ordered the crab and artichoke melt, and this was the star of the meal. It was absolutely divine. Rich, buttery crab and melted cheese layered on thinly sliced, perfectly toasted ciabatta--it was pure comfort food. I was surprisingly full after just two bites, partly because the portions are generous and I'd already made a dent in the beet salad. I skipped drinks this visit, but I'll definitely be back to check out the rotating taps and wine selection. The staff were laid-back, incredibly friendly, and genuinely helpful. The setting is one of the restaurant's biggest draws. The outdoor patio offers a beautiful bird's-eye view of the ferries arriving at Mare Island, making it the perfect place to linger over a meal. Inside, there's a large, inviting bar where it's easy to strike up a conversation with another guest, or you can grab one of the window seats and simply enjoy the waterfront views. I'll definitely be back.

The best fries I've ever had anywhere. Fantastic drinks including an amazing bloody mary. Indoor and outdoor seating and a beautiful multilevel patio area. And the cleanest, most pristine bathroom I have ever seen, that bathroom is spotless. Kat remembers our kids names, even between long stretches where we haven't come in for dinner in a minute. David and Kat promised our daughter they would make her a special Very Berry Mac and Cheese for her birthday. Something off menu, made to order just for our 5 year old, and just asked us to call the day before so they could be sure to have the berries. She felt so special and loved by these wonderful people who went out of their way to be kind to a neighborhood kid. AND Kat surprised us with mini berry cupcakes at the end of the meal. This is service you don't get anywhere else. AND the food is the best in Vallejo. If you haven't gone there yet, you are missing out on a true hidden gem.

Our server told us that three other customers had complained about it, yet it continued to be served. She notified the manager, but the manager never came to our table to apologize or address the situation. Later that day, I developed severe stomach pain, broke out in a cold sweat, and had to be taken to Kaiser Hospital. My blood pressure was very low, I vomited at the hospital, and I needed IV fluids to stabilize me. The illness also triggered a painful kidney-stone flare-up. My doctor confirmed that consuming the old calamari caused my illness. This was a frightening medical emergency. I am extremely disappointed that the calamari was reportedly still being served after several customers complained and that management never checked on us. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, investigates its food-handling procedures, and ensures this does not happen to anyone else.

Such great flavor; and the crispness of the chicken was excellent. The fries were pretty nice and well seasoned. I'm not in Vallejo often, but would definitely consider them again next time I'm here. So our party of 4 decided to call that a day and went to check out downtown Benicia, First St is lovely, full of small pubs, restaurants and shops. This taphouse looked interesting and there were a few people seated outside so we decided to check it out. It was a hot day and the server told us that the inside had AC so we decided to sit inside but there are several tables outside in the front of the taphouse and a separate area to the side of the restaurant with plenty of seating. There is a large bar to the left which leads into the kitchen area. There are several booths to the right and tables for seating in the middle of the space as well as bar seating. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and the place was not full but there a few tables were occupied. The bar itself is very old, I was told almost 100years old and original and it is a standout feature. Beautiful. The decorations are pictures of how the place and Benicia used to look a 100 years or so back. i wanted to have a beer but don't like dark beers and when I asked the server for a suggestion, she got me a couple of samples. I liked the light beer and ordered that. We also ordered a Roy Rogers and a hop water which I was told was interesting. There is plenty of street parking but this was on holiday. I can see the parking getting tough on a weekend. I thought the prices for the food were expensive, especially for Benicia. We ordered 2 slider kid meals which were $11 each, came with kettle chips and an order of cheesesteak. It was good sized and also came with chips. Service was quick and they checked in on us to make sure that were doing fine. The only blip was when we needed the check and no one was coming around and I walked up to the bar to ask for the check and the server told me to go back to my seat and she will get it for me, it was unexpectedly abrupt. It was a nice place and I would recommend the restaurant.
