This is the only free-standing McDonald's in South Surrey. (There is a Mcdonald's connected inside the Walmart). That being said, this location is generally always buzzing with people inside and in the drive-thru. I appreciate that they have self-serve kiosks so you can get your order in quick versus lining up with everyone else. The wait times can be hit or miss but they have table service available so you don't have to stand and wait if you're eating in. Cleanliness can be hit or miss too. You see the staff cleaning up at times but since it's so busy, they just can't keep up. More often than not I see garbage bins over flowing. Regardless, this Mcdonald's has a modern and updated look and has enough seating to accommodate the masses. They have the full McCafé service going as well! "What will they screw up this time?" is the joke at my house. This is by far the worst drive through restaurant I've visited. I don't know when I'm going to learn my lesson and stop going to the drive through at this location. Nearly every single time I've gone (I go here a lot, incredibly, because this location is the one closest to my house), something is wrong. The most recent time, all they did was give me the wrong sauce for my McNuggets, but I've (EDIT: I verbally checked that they put in the right sauces, and was told that they were in the bottom of the bag...there was too much stuff in the way to check, so shame on me, I suppose) had them give away my order to the car in front of me, have them miss items entirely or replace them with random items, or be missing straws, napkins, etc., and on and on. They are never rude, but they are also never friendly. They never smile or say hello, just jump right into asking questions, and they always seem to be nervous and stressed out, as though they are confused and trying to keep up with an impossible workload. One time, upon pulling up to the ordering area, I was greeted by a teenaged boy's voice, saying simply "Yo!" Quite amused, I said, "I beg your pardon?" at which point the regular script resumed, without apology. A minor point, to be sure, but in keeping with the level of training the staff receive at this location. Once, while waiting (and waiting, and waiting) at the pickup window, I observed a shouting match between an employee and a manager. The (male) manager at the time shouted "You'll do it the way I say, because I'm the f***ing manager!" This was probably about a year ago, but I still remember it quite clearly. That was my most memorable and amusing screw-up at this location, and certainly more welcome that having food items missing, which irritates my family. Also, the milkshake machine always seems to be "broken" in the morning, which actually means that the night shift didn't clean it, and so they can't produce milkshakes in the morning. Every time I go there in the morning, I ask if they can make a milkshake, just to check. So far, it's an unbroken record, which must be a dozen times, at least. (Okay I eat a lot of McDonalds...the location is really convenient, being right next to the highway). I don't think I've ever had a problem inside the restaurant (other than slow and unfriendly service), so if you have to go here, I'd advise you not to use the drive-through. At the very least, make sure every item is in the bag before you drive away. If you're able to make it to the location near White Rock, I'd suggest going there instead, as that location is much better-managed. In fact, I'm going to resolve to go there from now on. Today was just the last straw. This location simply sucks. read more

Walked in. Kitchen was over staffed. Way too many people working in very close proximity. Staff wearing masks but flimsy paper masks not N95. Three managers having meeting right on the line with everyone, then they moved to the lobby around people ordering and talked. Honestly? This working environment is DANGEROUS. On January 18th (2020), my boyfriend and I had gone through the drive-through only to be "greeted" by a foul mannered employee. When attempting to order through the intercom, she had spoken over us and cut us off. Upon arriving at the payment window, this employee did not say your standard "hello", but instead extended her arm with the debit machine without saying a word. When our tap option did read the first time, she sighed and barked "no... again". Horrible customer service. When we had moved to the next window to receive our food, we asked the name of the employee to which they stated was "Emma". Please take the time to educate your front line employees the importance of common courtesy. read more

It was a dead lobby at 3am on the 13th of July yet the conditions were disgusting, even behind the working counter they had food everywhere, not a safe place to order an allergy alert meal considering everything was in a shambles back there with several employees all looking confused as to what they should be doing. Definitely a reflection of the late night manager's ability to delegate to their team. I would've been embarrassed to have this restaurant in my patch. Food was not up to par at all. People suggesting that I should think about the bar and slobs that come in... Logan Creek, 152 Guildford Location, Hawthorne... all a central location for bar stars, all decently cared for locations, even Whalley is decent in comparison to White Rock. What disgusts me the most is many people from the late night staff, their attitude, their food safety, there is nothing good to say about this location except for a select not even handful of employees, and for them, don't worry we'll be speaking with the RM and the ops consultant soon to ensure you go where you'll be appreciated... read more

we had a very pour experience at mcdonald's this afternoon. They first said the wrong order and stopped talking on the order machine. We had to say HELLO 6.5 times exactly before we got a reply. When we FINALLY got our order we noticed there was only 2 straws!!! We ordered 3 drinks! That's one straw short UNBELIEVABLE!!! We ordered 3 sets of fries and it didn't even come with kAtchup! So disappointing. My "signature" wrap was EXPLODING with ranch and my fingers did not approve!!! When i picked my wrap out of the container everything SLIPED out like a slipen slide DISGUSTING!!! To top it off the shapes of the lid of our drinks were already pre punched in! HOW DISRESPECTFUL!!! I had to take off the lid so i could pop it back out, only to push it back in!! Location is easy to get to and food is the same as any McDonald's, no surprise. But service is so inconsistant. One day it's good, the other day they forget items in your order. Be careful when ordering and check your bag before you leave the drive thru. Also, watch your receipt as I've been overcharged a couple of times. read more
