Driving back from Northern Minnesota to Georgia I came across the cutest coffee stop just over the bridge (Lake Superior)between Duluth MN and Superior WI on Highway 53. It's just a drive through or walk up. No seating. I parked and did the walk up because I wanted to snap a few pics of this adorable little coffee shop. They must have had the A Team working that day because they were so friendly and helpful. Seeing my plates were from Georgia, they wanted to know about peaches, pecans and even Billy Beer. Lol. And why I was so far from home. So giving them the Georgia scoop while they made my coffee we had such a nice conversation. A very enjoyable experience and fantastic coffee to boot. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was super smooth with the perfect amount of flavor. I love that they make some of their syrups in house, you can really taste the difference. It feels thoughtful and high quality. The staff is friendly, patient, and helpful with recommendations. Overall just a really pleasant experience from start to finish. I went back for them later and they were out, so I went back the next day and they locked the lobby during business hours. Waited in drive thru for 25 minutes and finally gave up and called customer service. Still waiting on my refund! I would be willing to grant some grace for slow service and mistakes if the customer service was good, but on top of everything else, the workers are very rude. They don't smile or thank their customers, they let people wait in the lobby for 10 minutes just to place an order. Honestly, every time I step foot in that restaurant, I feel like I'm inconveniencing THEM. Take your business elsewhere. I'm sure the workers are all lovely people, but whatever horrible working conditions are occurring internally are making the entire experience not worth your time. Go down the street and get a pumpkin iced coffee from McDonald's. Their workers are friendly and their drive thru is speedy. Plus, there's great coupons on the app, unlike DD. Hope this store can figure out their issues, get in some more help, offer better training for their employees.
