Being a foodie, it's hard not to compare a recent meal here with all the changes that's happened since I've eaten at any location a long time ago... I decided on a whim one day to get some food here to change up my usual rhythm of getting a Vietnamese sandwich, so I got here on a Saturday for some lunch to take out. This particular location hasn't had too much of a structural change since I've passed by here when I used to eat at the now-closed Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant. If anything, it still smells heavily of fried oil inside, and tables and chairs here give a regular fast-food vibe. You order what you want through one of two kiosks near the front, and you can pay by cash at the front counter; otherwise you pay for most meals by card. Food took maybe about 10 minutes to come out, and I was actually kinda excited to have McDonald's again after a really long time of not having it. Then came the food, and wow I got things to say: - I got two large French fries, and wow have portion sizes shrunk considerably! I remember they used to be in red-colored cardboard cartons but now they're in paper bags that are much smaller than before. The fries weren't even oversalted like they were back then (though that technically shouldn't be a bad thing). - The same goes for the 20 chicken nuggets I got; they came in two small paper bags holding 10 nuggets each. But quality for these hasn't changed much, and were still all right. - My biggest disappointment was the spicy deluxe McCrispy burger. The condiments (like tomatoes and lettuce) were all right, though the patty could have been crisper. The buns were too soft for me, and I'm pretty sure I heard my burger "fart" while I was clenching onto it... it was the hot sauce that was oozing from the burger. Overall very low quality burger that doesn't have much going for it. Most things here are actually all right and would warrant a 3-star rating from me on a normal basis. But what really caused my rating to be 2 stars instead was that my stomach felt quite uncomfortable after eating everything, and I did realize I felt a little germaphobic just going inside the restaurant. Not that that's an abnormal thing given many locations I've been to are also like this. Of course, "What'd you expect from fast food???" is what I would be asked here, but it's good to give some places a try - with some exceptions like this place, of course. read more

Luckily, we looked in the bag and caught them forgetting a mcChicken sandwich. However, we didn't catch the French fry since we didn't look closely which is our bad. We ordered a large fry here, but they gave us a medium... Make sure to check your bags here! Otherwise the McDonald's was actually fresh today. I just paid $50 from uber eats to get 2 burgers and a coffee (plus 2 burgers for my roommate and a tip) and they made my 2 burgers wrong and made my coffee wrong. Why cant you read the notes? I am NOT, in any capacity, a fan of the computerized ordering system. First and foremost, it deprives fast food workers of their work. And I never realized how much I depended on human interaction when I went out to eat until it was gone. I have lived in the area of this McDonald's for years now, and have seen it change hands, different owners, totally different crews. I gotta say, after my visit today, that it's in the right hands. If you hold any old feelings of negativity towards this specific location because of an issue in the past, and for what ever reason feel compelled to eat here in the first place, this is the best it's been. Today I flat out ordered the number 8, and as soon as I got the order, I knew I had screwed up, and really wanted the number 5. They replaced it without question, not a hint of attitude, it was my own honest mistake and they took care of me. I like this McDonald's, they are actually pretty fast and efficient. but the staff are not happy and unfriendly. Oh well can't expect much when you get paid minimum wage. Anyway, enough complaining. Went to get a cheeseburger and hot fudge sundae. I also asked for a cup of water and the cashier stated that they only have the bottled water for $1.19. BUNK! I do nor pay for bottled water nor will I feed into the franchise operator's greed. I remember what this store was in business as a corporate location back in the 1990's. Back then the staff were one of the better restaurant crews I have seen, even to this day. Back in 1999, there had been a kitchen fire at this location and they rebuilt. Since then, the service has been in the toilet. Well, there are plenty of other restaurants in that area that want my business more and will give the service that I expect and pay for. What can I say? It's McDonald's. But damn, I've never been so disappointed in a fast food place before. Walked in with my friends to grab some Good after swimming. Not only was the employees rude, they didn't know what was going on at all. Their menu says 2 pies are 1.19 but they charged me 1.95 lol. When I asked them why their menu says otherwise, the employees just widen her eyes and shrugged saying she doesn't know. Bad service. The gentleman who took our order was rude, aggressive, and continuously cut us off. Coincidentally, our order was incorrect and missing items which had to be corrected. We were over charged and the staff didn't seem to care. The food was stale and cold, and the fries were not salty, and were dry. Their ice cream machine has been "broken" for months, and at this point I think the staff is just to lazy to get it dirty and clean it. This being our 3rd and final option for a stop, we were greeted with awesome customer service. The woman working the drive they around 2am was so friendly and courteous. She seemed like she was on a long shift and could of been at home doing something else, but she didn't give anything short of professional, friendly, great big smile and we weren't shocked, we were reminded why we normally go there Bc we work nights and this jack in the box and this paticular lady who works among a few other are always so nice! We are grateful that at 2am somebody still gives great service. I know it's fast food but I can tell you we won't be going to McDonald's. Thanks guys. Gosh, I wish I had thought to pay mind to the name of the employee who served me last Saturday. Her customer service exceeded expectations. She was patient when I approached the register on my phone, reading the menu to my friend at home and trying to figure out how to feed us and three kids in a cost effective way. Not only was the employee patient and understanding but she helped us figure it out by pointing out a menu option that we hadn't realized that offered more food for less money than the order we figured to be our best bet. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed very dedicated to providing great service to happy customers. My visit to this store was great all together. 10/05/16 I went to Ranier Beach McDonalds drive thru to get lunch for me and family. I ordered 2 filet fish meal, nuggets meal and hot cakes. Asian guy at the drive thru reassured me that everything was in the bag as I attempted to look inside. When I got home I didn't get any sauce for my nuggets and the hot cakes were missing. The total came out to be $32.05. Now you tell me, spending that much at a fast food and not get your order correct is so frustrating and a rip off. When I called the number on the receipt and on the website, it's not a working number. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE and should be reported to BBB. Will never go there again. read more
