Ok guys, don't judge. We went to McDs because we had points that were expiring and it allowed us to get McChicken sandwiches... 3x. lol. And when we travel we love getting their breakfast sandwiches. Honestly can't go wrong with ordering it at home then driving and parking in front of a number. They come out pretty quickly. Some staff even offering condiments (ketchup). I suggest downloading the app and finding their deals. We were also able to get that $5 meal deal with a McChicken sandwich, nuggets, fries and a drink. Location is close to the 5 freeway and parking lot is huge and free because it is shared with Home Depot. For service you can order via mobile app, or drive through, or on a touch screen inside. Make sure to sign up for a McDonald's account so you get points for free stuff. Inside is nice, clean, just as crowded and noisy as any busy McDonald's. Ordered some french fries and it did not take too long, maybe 2 minutes but when they went to hand me the bag it was empty. Juanita is the manager, totally approachable and cool. I'm kinda obsessed with the croc toys in the happy meals. The place was immaculate. She was SOOOO kind to find me another "Croc" toy....it literally made my day! Now, here is how you totally utilize a Happy Meal when you have dogs and want the toy. You share the meat with your dogs, you eat the bun and pickles, you save the fries for a later day....too much sodium. I just walked after waiting at the register for a long time to place an order. There were workers walking around, but I wasn't even acknowledged. Eventually an older lady walked up and asked me if I needed help (like I would just come by to stand there for fun!). I went to this McDonald's yesterday and it was a weird experience. The guy who helped me was acting weird when I ordered. They may have been filming a TikTok or something but the guy had this smug grin like he was a celebrity and I had no idea who he was. He had gray hair and was dressed way too fancy for a fast food worker (so I assumed he was a district manager or something?). The fries were free and I had no idea why but who doesn't want free fries?... then I found out why. They were soggy and nasty and not even hot. I normally love McDonald's fries but every time I go to this location, they're either burned and hard or cold. I'm officially going to start driving further from my house to the McDonald's on Rancho Sante Fe Rd in order to get the normally delicious fries that McDonald's is known for. Accessibility: they have accessible parking directly in front of the building and plenty of other parking available. There is a ramp to get onto the sidewalk and the doors to get inside are pull doors. They also have a drive-thru with two lanes and digital screens with the menu on it. Experience: I went through the drive-thru on a Saturday afternoon and there was no one in line in front of me. The service was super fast and the food was hot! Fresh off the grill type of hot! The fries here also tasted MUCH better than the fries at the other McDonald's I have been to in San Marcos. The Vanilla coffee here was also very good and cheap! I just went there, 11/26/22, and had to say about 4 times that I wanted a chicken deluxe. I gave the number a couple of times as well. They kept switching it to a spicy. When I got up to the window I had to correct the order again. While this location was indeed clean, the staff continues to struggle with integrity and simple request. Can't imagine the difficulty that senior citizens must endure at this location as the kiosk was also not being utilized nor was there an available employee around to teach nor give instruction. Also, I would recommend training all new employees to the fullest extent. There seems to be an atmosphere of people being placed in charge, utilizing the term "help me" when in actuality, there is no such cohesion whatsoever. Almost as bad as the Anaheim locations. Before I give my review: Visit the McDonalds on Ranch Santa Fe- also in San Marcos, CA. It's just a few minutes away. The service and food are so much better than this crappy place. I would never suggest the San Marcos Blvd location to anyone. I quit visiting this particular McDonald's b/c of the horrible food service. Nearly every order has been incorrect, even when I went inside to make an order. The place is a hot mess. I saw so many people complaining about their food- I can't imagine how they stay in business. Previous issues: I've received ONE item out of an entire order- the rest of my order was refunded. I just wanted the food, not a stupid refund! ; I've received someone else's order, several times ; Also, any food details or preferences are like talking to my cat- totally ignored!! ; hard, overly heated buns and meat patties are another gross issue. I saw people wearing the same gloves to use the cash register and then go to work on food orders! Why aren't they following proper food handling practices? The main problem with this location is service. The employees are very rude. Today, I went to this location like I do most of the time, I can say I go 3-5 times a week, the self checkout machines didn't had the debit card machine to pay, so I had to wait for someone to take my payment at the counter. I ask nicely to the girl behind the counter and she told me that the machines were never there. That she worked two years there and she never seen those machines there. She was rude, and obviously she was lying. I use those machines always, it's easier than dealing with rude unhappy employees at this location. Did you know a filet of fish costs a whopping $4.39 ?! I ordered two so that came out to $8.78. It's best to get these deep fried fish sandwiches on a Friday when they're discounted to like $1.65 or something. At least an any-size drink right now is only $1. They have a self serve fountain soda station. I think the filet o fish was made to order as it took some time to receive. You can see your order # on a computer screen so you'll know when your order is ready. The woman who gave me my order was super nice and even offered some sauces (not sure why as the fish sandwich doesn't need one but whatever - that was a nice gesture).
