I don't flippantly write a second negative review, but the mystery of why I feel terrible about half the time I get Diet Coke from McDonalds, and why it tastes significantly different from canned Diet Coke, appears to have been solved. On 1/29/26 at 4:59 PM, I ordered a Diet Coke with no ice. It came with ice so I politely asked the guy at the second window to give me one with no ice (after making sure the receipt said diet). I watched him press the regular coke button, so I told him I ordered diet, and he instantly said that they don't have Diet Coke. As in they just told people it was diet when it isn't, as a matter of course. Nonplussed, I told him that that silent substitution could seriously injure a diabetic, and he and his female manager, who was in the take out window at the time, rudely cut me off and said "ok bye sir" as the window closed and laughed. So they substituted a sugar filled product without telling anyone, and then laughed that they got caught. This place is comically, insanely, and dangerously run. And to think that I had been hopeful when they repaired the menu screen that had been blinking and blacked out for seconds at a time for A YEAR OR TWO. We've gone to this location a handful of times, and things were good before, but the last two times we ordered food here, the workers were unfriendly and messed up our order twice. I'm so tired of people not only being super cheap, but also rude when you called them out on it. Charging me $.50 for an extra cup of sauce and then giving me a quarter size amount is absolutely ridiculous. And then to tell me I'm being rude when two other employees of yours ignored what I said, and had me waiting 20 minutes in a drive-through that should've taken five. Not for nothing, it takes forever for anyone to understand my super simple request because they hire people that don't really speak English that well to be working at the Windows talking to people. Will not allow you to pick up a mobile orders in the same car and get a drive through order. If you forget something on a mobile order, ORDER THE FORGOTTEN ITEM FIRST !! Get your order total and them tell them about your mobile order. This women specificallt would not add a happy meal to my order today or do a seperate order for my screaming 2 year old because "they won't allow 2 orders per car". This is the absolute worst McDonald's I have ever been to. The employees avoid the register like the plague and will look directly at you and walk away if you're waiting to order at the register. One of the times I came here with two friends, one of their sodas had a hole in the cup and we didn't realize until she picked it up and half of the soda went rushing out. I went to the counter to try and get another cup and was ignored for a couple minutes until an employee finally acknowledged me and gave me a cup. But by the time I came back to the table her soda had already completely soaked into the paper of the tray. That same day I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger that came without the bacon and instead it was on my friends chicken sandwich a which wasn't supposed to have bacon on it. However today, I ordered a bacon QPC without mustard. Immediately when I got my sandwich, because of my past experiences I checked for mustard not because I don't like it- because I'm allergic. Thankfully there wasn't any mustard but the bacon on the BACON QPC was missing and I also never got the ranch I asked for. The only reason an employee came to the counter was because of mobile order pickups but when it was my turn the employee looked absolutely annoyed at the fact they had to talk to me. After I told them what was wrong they said they'd go get me my bacon. When they came back with my bacon and a single ranch I asked about the other ranch because I had ordered more than one and was told I had to pay if I wanted another one even though I showed my receipt/order ticket. Walked back to my seat to put my bacon on my burger and it was stone cold at least it was cooked I guess. Didn't feel like complaining again since I knew I'd be ignored and the rest of my food would be cold by the time I got to eat it. read more

Stopped off to the McDonald's on Salem Street for a quick breakfast ordered a sausage biscuit with cheese and a large Diet Coke. Told the drive-through guy twice but I wanted got to the window he asked me what I ordered I told him and then I found out afterwards what he gave me was a sausage egg and cheese which I immediately threw back into the parking lot and left. Sent my son to pick up order via drive thru at 3:20 from mobile app on 10/28. He was handed drinks and told to pull in a curbside spot to wait on 2 - 20 piece nuggets. He waited and no one came out. He went inside and said he was missing items, no spoke English and didn't understand him. He was able to show the order number and they said no food. I was at the local university game, so I stopped in after game around 5. THEY ABSOLUTELY would not give me the missing items. They mocked me, laughed at me and completely ignored me. I asked the shift manager to review the video for the time. She said no and thay she was NOT replacing the items. She said everyone working started at 4, so they could not assist for an incident that transpired at 3:20. I asked for the manager and franchise owner information. She flat out denied. They left me standing at register and called the police. 3 cruisers showed up! In Salem the last thing the police need is to write a report of missing nuggets! Police eventually gave me a name which i am confident is not correct. Joanna Perez shift manager. I am from out of town and this was handled very wrong. Only 1 gentleman that worked there spoke English. NOT ONE PERSON HAD NAME TAGS! They literally got every pick up order wrong, they were rude to those patrons. One lady was missing a mcdouble, another gentleman was waiting in a cup, another woman was handed the wrong tea. UNACCEPTABLE! It was a complete disaster. This is a matter of principal at this point and I want the franchise owner info. If my store was being handled by a bunch of idiots, I would want to know. Went with my friend to this McDonalds Friday night. It's usually pretty good. (has a really excellent dining area, also) We sat for like...10 minutes at the drivethru the other night because they were severely understaffed. Wasn't their fault. Got two large combo meals, and went about my evening. Got home, and what was supposed to be a large fry was a half full medium fry. It was a very long night and I was hungry. Also strapped for cash, wasn't fair. So I went back, and inside this time. When I went in, there wasn't any wait at all. The manager, Scott, was at the counter. I showed him my drink to prove him I ordered a large since I was never given a receipt. When I pulled the fries out of the bag, he immediately asked "who gave you that?" He shook his head, and took our fries, dumped them and gave us brand new, just out of the friolator, large fries. I thanked him, and he told me to wait right there. He came out with these great coupons that my friend and I are really happy about. He was extremely nice and suggested we come back. At first I was really disappointed with the situation, but honestly, Scott's mature, courteous, excellent managerial skills have convinced me that this place will always deserve a second chance. read more

A friend ordered a chocolate milkshake, which was completely white. He told them that he ordered chocolate and they said it is chocolate - he tried it and it was vanilla. When he went back up, they made him a new one and just added chocolate syrup because they refused to simply admit they didn't have chocolate. This location has no napkins or ketchup accessible to the customer, it must be requested and then they take 5 minutes to give it to you.
