The normal girl at the drive through window on Friday early morning is quite lovely. So friendly and nice. Today there was a really grumpy woman who didn't bother to greet me or even look at me. I was irritated and grabbed my card when she handed it out the window, and she started SCREAMING at me! She is also not very competent, as she forgot my straw and my hot sauce. Ever since Jeremy and I saw those videos on YouTube of people washing their socks, and making things other than coffee in hotel coffeemakers, we tend to procure our morning beverages elsewhere. We were staying at the Red Roof motel across the street, and I'm not sure if they provided any coffee in the lobby. Maybe, but Jeremy decided to go to McDonald's while I was still rolling around in the giant bed. He brought the food and drinks back without any complaints about the task. He said it's flat in, attached to a gas station, and that I wouldn't have had any issues. Gotta love a caramel frappe first thing in the morning. Hell, let's be real, I'll drink those things at any time. They are diabolical - all that sugar. So delicious. First time having a sausage mcmuffin. It's fast food, I know, you know. However I am a fan, hence four stars because I arrived in Richmond after a nearly four hour drive in rush hour from the D.C. area and this place was my savior. Fast food it is. 2 for $5.00 Filet-O-Fish is a bargain and curbed my hunger pains. Only disappointment was that they were out white milk. Lucky for me though, they're attached to a convenience store! Lobby doors were locked. Sat in drive-thru over 45 minutes and even after 2 vehicles in front of me drove off they still had no idea what was going on and still did not have the order ready. To make things worse thete were only 4 vehicles ahead of me, 2 of which drove off and it still took 45 minutes to get to the first window The manager should immediately be terminated, I witnessed doors propped open with the keys in them and 1 competent female crew member trying to get things right while the manager made a terrible situation worse. The entire experience was over an hour and they couldn't even get Doordash orders right meaning they are making others look incompetent McDonald's has gone down hill and Chick-fil-A shows orders can be fast and accurate but this location has made me decide to boycot McDonald's all together until they clean up their act. This McDonald's is attached to gas station/convenience store off I-95. It sees a lot of action from the high volume of truck drivers and blue collar workers associated with the nearby industrial area (Port of Richmond, Phillip Morris, DuPont, Cogentrix, et. al). The truck drivers have to park their large trucks on the nearby street. The food is typcal McDonald's quality. Service is entirely another matter. OK, lunch hour is busy. But what fast food place just off an interstate isn't? There were people waiting 10+ minutes for their food. I had to wait just as long. When my check number was called, I and another guy stepped to the counter to get 'our' food. Turned out we were given the same check number. Mine was incorrect. The supervisor fixed it fairly quickly but on top of the original wait - way too long. I won't be planning to visit again anytime soon except as a last resort. read more

Came in 2 nights ago and the place stinks of rotten milk, yet you walk a few feet into the convenience store and it smells clean. They have plenty of staff (the cashier was nice) but everyone is stuck in slow gear 15 minutes to get food. The drive-through window was left open (both a health and security violation ) They call out food orders because they don't seem to use numbers. Surprisingly the food was hot. In front of the drink dispensers, were dripping with syrup and soda. Every table was sticky. Looking at the reviews going back years is it clear that both the McDonald's Regional Office and the health department have never checked this store. Holiday Inn Express down the street does not recommend customers go there - says go anywhere else! read more

It was the WORST service Ive ever had. They weren't busy I had 2 vehicles in front of me which were obviously pulled into a spot to wait for food too. My order was 17.45 I gave her 17.50 she kept my nickel, I guess she needed it more than I do because her attitude was stank as shit. My daughters 6 and 11 were complaining because they both got iced tea that was hot as hell with a few lil ice cubes while we waited in number 2 for our food to come out. I give 3 stars, only because it's fast food. I mean, it's McDonalds. You know what you're getting. But there's a reason for this 3 star rating. That would be their delightful service! I went in for breakfast the other day, and the lady at the counter was so sweet. She had a bright smile on her face, addressed me when I was in line, got my order spot on... And the other folks were just as pleasant! I stood for a little bit waiting an average time, I'd say, and the lady looks at me again, "I'm sorry for the wait!" And she starts helping bag everything and getting it together. Impressive. But as if that wasn't enough from your standard McDonalds employee, she says sorry again as she gives me an apple pie for my wait (once again: this wait was very average). I always give credit for good service, and she gave the best service I have ever experienced at a fast food place. Food/Location are really just 2 stars, but I HAVE to bump it up for service. Yikes. This place is by far the worst the I have ever been to. We could tell just upon pulling up that it wasn't good. We went through the drive through where a guy was pressure washing and made an annoyed sound that he had to move so that we could drive by. We ordered a hot fudge sundae and were told to pull up to the door, they brought it out and it was filled to the top with ice cream and a small drizzle of fudge. My husband took it back in and asked for more fudge. The overweight MANAGER said in barely understandable English that "that's they way they come" then walked slowly to the fudge talking loudly about "he want more fudge" and then put a minuscule amount on it. My husband brought it back and of course I had to go back in. The manager saw me coming, made a face and stopped walking. I was pissed at this point, I don't expect much from places like this but you don't behave this way. It's unacceptable.
