Here's the…read moreplay-by-play on the food: The Wife's Wing Assessment (Rating: / 5) She went with the 12-piece Old Bay deal (89 cents a wing on Sundays, which is legally a steal). Her verdict: a bit fatty, but juicy enough. Unbreaded, medium-sized, and distinctly "crappy" in that specific, comforting way that makes you want to keep eating them anyway. The Old Bay flavor was solid, though it could've used an extra shake or two from a heavier wrist. A respectable 3 out of 5 wings. The All-American Club (Rating: / 5) Listen to me. This sandwich wasn't just lunch--it was an architectural marvel. It was absolute YUGE. I had to give myself a locker-room pep talk in the middle of eating it just to keep going, and I still suffered a valiant defeat. Pro Tip: Sprinkle some of that local Sneads Ferry "Old School Everything" spice from the table onto the sandwich. It elevates it from "great club" to hands-down the best club sandwich I've had in ages. Great spot for the game. Bring your appetite and leave your pride at the door if you order the club.

After hearing recommendation after recommendation, I made my first stop at Island Burgers & Bites…read morein Carolina Beach. I even walked over a mile to get there... so if this burger was bad, I was going to have a very long, disappointing walk back. Thankfully, that wasn't a problem. I ordered the double cheeseburger Carolina-style with chili, slaw, mustard, and onions. A Carolina-style burger... in Carolina Beach. It just felt right. First of all, this thing was HUGE. The beef was incredibly well seasoned with those crisp, lacy edges. The chili had just enough sweetness, the mustard brought the perfect tang, and the onions added that fresh crunch. Then there's the toasted potato bun--still the undisputed champion of burger buns--and the perfectly melted cheese holding this glorious mess together. What makes this place even cooler is that it started in a gas station back in 2017. Now it's one of the most talked-about burger spots around. It's considered by many to be the third best burger in North Carolina and after one bite, I completely understand why. Sometimes the best food comes from the places you'd least expect. Despite being busy, the food came out surprisingly fast, and the staff kept things moving without missing a beat. Final score: 9.8/10. This officially takes the #1 spot on the Ev's Eats Best Burger List... for now. Every burger from here on out has a new standard to chase. #CarolinaBeach #IslandBurgersAndBites #NorthCarolinaEats #NCEats NCFood

So amazingly that i only wanted to eat my fries the first time I was there. I could only eat one from my 2 dog combo so I had it in the fridge flr the next day. Hubby came home and ate it! He said the same thing, one of the best dogs ever. So, 3 days later we were running the streets taking care of business & stopped in for lunch. We both ordered the dogs again. Still the same yummy in my tummy feeling. The onion rings are perfectly crispy and the onion breaks when you bite into. That seems to be a problem for other food spots.
