I went to McDonald's excited to get my Boo Bucket, and guess what? They didn't even give me one! That was literally the main reason I went -- I didn't want just nuggets, I wanted the Halloween magic. As McDonald's restaurants go this one is probably the cleanest one come at least compared to the one in kingston, and would be my choice to go to if it weren't so far away. The lines can be very long at this McDonald's even though they have the double system for processing orders. They've never messed up my order. And it is just a traditional typical McDonald's. I do love the McDonald's app and earning the points, and being able to use the app everywhere. So that has nothing to do with this particular McDonald's but kudos to McDonald's in general. Admittedly I came at what seems like a slow time for them, around 8 pm, but I was still impressed. You get used to the slow service standards around here in Poulsbo and then you have a great experience and it just makes your day. regarding the Poulsbo location: I kept wondering why there was such a back up of cars on one of the busiest streets in Poulsbo. Apparently, when you use the mobile app...you have to wait in a line with other drivers who do not use the app. There is a HUGE sign in front of McDONALD's. It reads "mobile app pickups". So, we used the mobile app hoping to avoid the traffic jam car line. We parked in the mobile app pick up parking spot. We headed to the counter and was told to get back in our car and wait in line with the other cars. We had to order again over the speaker and the cashier window had to ring up the order. I asked the Manager what was the purpose of ordering on the app? She told me that it was to keep the orders in line. IT was not to keep the orders in line. BECAUSE, the cars in front of me start ordering at the drive thru speaker. My order was placed WAAAYY before all the people in their cars in front of me decided to leave their house. McDonalds need to get rid of their apps if everyone has to wait in a line of cars. Make it simple for people who need to order, pick up food, and get back to work! Your location causes hazards when people in cars sit on a busy street waiting to pass. read more

They never fill the fries up. Of the 7 times I've ordered a large fry in the last 5 months, the 'large' fry has looked like a medium every time. They have forgotten the chocolate milk for the Happy Meal twice. When we asked for extra lettuce, we got two pieces of lettuce. Two pieces. Of shredded lettuce. When we asked for ketchup on our fish sandwich, it was squirted onto the side of the sandwich with none inside. I got a Oreo McFlurry and it came with mint in it. It seems that they don't clean the ice cream mixers. Then the large fry and it was not crispy and only a little warm. When I saw the signature crafted burgers, I thought McDonald's was ready to step up its game and targeted at the "gourmet" burger market. Oh boy I was being to naive. The patty was dry as usual. Rarely does mickyDs disappoint. Today however the Poulsbo mcDs failed on all fronts. First the oj wasn't available. Then at the drive thru window the guy spills my coffee down my jacket, the car Window , and inside in my seat. We get 2 breakfast meals, they forget the hash browns. My coffee didn't have sugar as I had asked for, and my wife's iced coffee is watered way down. On my sausage egg McMuffin, the eggs are so over cooked the yolks were almost entirely green. Not sure how many different parts of the meal could fail, but this was miserable. Not going there again. read more

I've traveled the US for 50 years. Many many times Mcdonalds was my economic choice so I've been to dozens of locations. Hands down this is the worst .. I really don't have high expectations. I understand what they offer and accept that. But this place is horrible, many days they are out of supplies..cups, coffee filters, soda , tea. One day they offered burrito until 2 pm. The next day they said they stopped it. One week later they started again. the line is horrifically long and equally slow. they take the FAST out of fast food. 4 stars definitely because of the Play area, even a cool little table in the playland area with "Hamburger Head" Seats. Kids & Grandkids Love this playland. It is actually down from the actual Dining area which allows for less "Hollering" during meals in the upper dining area. Also the Playland is very well lit up being surrounded by windows. Free Wi-Fi always a bonus for those with tablets and other Wi-Fi devices. Other than that, a pretty average McDonald's. On one visit I had a few issues with my order but nothing that a little training and experience wouldn't take care of. I'm sure that this as well as other McDonald's have a high employee turnover rates due to it being a "1st Job" stepping stone for a lot of young people. read more

Its always a hit or miss. There is one woman who works there that is UNBELIEVABLY rude and argues with customers. I have heard her shouting at other employees and yelling at customers. I do not understand how she still works there. They dont have the drive thru down yet. Mainly because i think they are always rushing and dont bother repeating your order back at you when they go to hand the food thru the window. I live about a mile away from the Poulsbo Mcdonalds and often find myself driving to Silverdale Mcdonalds because the service is WAY better out there. read more
