Around lunchtime, I used their drive-through and ordered an iced coffee (because they don't sell any cold brew). So, they were completely out of regular coffee. Instead, the employee gave me four shots of espresso mixed/diluted with water. Not. The. Same. The concoction tasted weak. But, at least I received a major caffeine hit. Also, I asked for light ice, and ended up receiving a full cup of ice for my very weak "coffee". The location is very conveniently located on a major thoroughfare, and the employee was quite pleasant to me. They also feature a customer loyalty program. But no thanks. In the future I will be exploring better coffee options of this area.

No offense, but this place deserves way more attention than it can garner in a small town. The donuts and sausage rolls are just delicious. Every time I come down from out of state to visit my mother and sister I eat breakfast here (several time). So if your staying in a hotel by interstate 55, please take the time to make the 3 mile drive here and set yourself up for a good trip. This is a decent, family-owned restaurant. Much of the food appears to be made from scratch. The owners are accommodating folks. The Mrs. will answer any questions posed to her. The Mr. is a bit of a character, and may give you some sarcasm and a bit of attitude. (If you realize that, then your visit should be fine. He means no harm.) Their food is served on "real" dishes made of ceramic (not plastic). However, iced tea, soda pop, and other cold drinks are served within hard, plastic cups. They have a full menu of food, but also offer daily specials. I've had the pleasure of enjoying two (2) of the lunch specials: 1) The country-fried steak is tasty, moist, and nicely breaded 2) Even more delicious is their chicken and dumplings with homemade cornbread! There are hearty chunks of meat swimming within this generous dish along with well-prepared dumplings. Be sure to watch for a piece or two of chicken bones, though. Homemade, indeed! The paved parking lot is more than adequate, given the size of the building. There's additional parking on crushed rocks, located in the back. Despite there being only about three customers during a weekday afternoon, the waitress was distracted by her phone, and didn't refill my drink until prompted by me. The restaurant is located across the street (north of) from the Family Dollar store. I recommend this eatery, and plan on returning again. Tell you what--we were thrilled when we happened to drive by BB's Burger Shack & found out they had "Fish Fry Fridays"! And the fish was DEEEE-LISH-US, too! So good that most of us had already devoured a good portion before we thought about taking pictures! (I included the 1 plate that still had at least 1 filet left ha.) We also ordered a few other things worth talking about: the fried pickles (great even compared to some of favorite big city places), mozzarella sticks (yum), onion rings (we had someone super picky about onion rings & he even liked them), the Pig (yum yum!) & a regular burger (flavor was good but it if you don't like well done, may be a little dry & a side salad (QUALITY salad hard to find at burger places). The service was great too--all of the staff was very attentive & even offered to refill our drinks to go when we were leaving. Long story short--this is a rare find in a small town.
