We normally sit in the open patio/sunroom area, which has a really nice country-style atmosphere, and the food has always been good. Our waiter was also very nice, courteous, and attentive, so I have no complaints about the service he provided. Unfortunately, this visit was very different because we were seated directly in front of the area where the kitchen staff was cooking, prepping, and washing dishes. Throughout our meal, I could hear several members of the kitchen staff joking around and talking loudly. Horseplay among coworkers normally wouldn't bother me, but the language being used was extremely vulgar. Most of it was being said in Spanish, and I got the impression they assumed the customers nearby didn't understand Spanish. One phrase in particular, "a la verga," was being repeated constantly -- "vete a la verga," "a la verga esto," "a la verga lo otro," over and over again. Without getting into a literal translation, it is an extremely vulgar phrase, roughly equivalent to repeatedly saying things like "fuck that, fuck him" and roughly translated to they can eat a dick, he can eat a dick, they can eat a dick. I was sitting there with three young children who understand Spanish, trying to enjoy eggs and hash browns with my family while listening to this language coming from the kitchen over and over again. That's simply not appropriate in a family restaurant. Eventually, I got up and approached the kitchen staff myself. I politely asked them, in both Spanish and English, if they could please keep the vulgar language down because I had young children with me. The employee who had been using the phrase the most acted as though he didn't understand what I was saying and then pointed me toward another employee wearing a blue polo. I explained the same thing to him -- that we were trying to enjoy a family brunch and could clearly hear the constant vulgar language. Unfortunately, he seemed uninterested, appeared to be in a hurry, and essentially brushed off my concern. I didn't believe he was the manager because I would hope a manager wouldn't handle a legitimate customer concern that way. I later spoke with the actual manager, who told me she would address the issue with the kitchen staff, which I appreciated. The food was still good and our waiter did a great job, so my complaint isn't about them. It's specifically about the professionalism of the kitchen staff and the way my initial concern was handled. My recommendation to families with young children would be to ask to sit as far away from the kitchen area as possible. And if you hear this type of language, say something. Employees should be able to joke and enjoy working together, but repeatedly using extremely vulgar language loud enough for customers and children to hear is unacceptable in a family restaurant.

This fillet fish is a dump of a sandwich. Every time I go to this McDonald's there is something wrong with my order. I constantly give them chances to improve. I'm just over it this McDonald's. Small minded folks in Orcutt California. Can't get there act together. I know everyone believes there's not many places to eat here. Unfortunately that's correct but to top it off the places that are in this town. The McDonald's on Clark Street doesn't care to have great customer service or have customers leave with a great experienced . That McDonald's is known for in other cities or states. This is not the first time I have attempted to enjoy a meal. At one of my favorite quick fast food places . But unfortunately there service shows they just don't care ! Retention is not in there vocabulary. Or do they care to learn how to retain customers new to the area. Unlike many others I'm not a local and I know what a sandwich should look and taste . this is not it it's on acceptable and I refuse to go anywhere again I'd rather go across town to enjoy a meal read more

Habit Burger & Grill

Today I visited Habit Burger & Grill in Santa Maria (my go to location...plenty of free parking,…read morenot like in downtown SLO). I went in to get Double Char Burgers (really good 5/5) and apologize to the G.M. (Larissa) because on my previous visit I thought there had been a problem with my order. I was (though I rarely am) WRONG, yet I was absolutely insistent that the problem existed. Much to my chagrin (which I only found out after talking with my Spouse later that evening) Larissa was correct and to resolve the issue she gave me a "Char-card". Well today, I went in to apologize (sincerely), look her in the face and tell her "I'm sorry, you were right, I was wrong" and to give her the free "Char-card" back. Unfortunately she didn't come-in until for several hours...BUT FORTUNATELY...her District Manager (Juan) was there and so I unburdened myself to him. I explained that Larissa treated me with much respect, she never raised her voice...and believe me, I really truly thought I was in the right so I was insistent, yet after actively listening to me (even though she KNEW I was wrong ), she gave me the card (GOD, I felt so guilty until I tried to return it today) to resolve the issue. I told the D.M. that Larissa always treats me "right" when I am there and he has a really honorable G.M. in charge of the Santa Maria Habit Burger & Grill. Larissa gives everyone great customer service...ALWAYS. So this is my "public" declaration of now unburdened shame and high praises for the Santa Maria Habit Burger & Grill, not only for having great offerings, but a G.M. that always puts her patrons first! Today (as on previous visits) this location truly earned another "highly recommend" 5 Star Review!

My kids and I arrived a little before 11:30 lunch rush and ordered at kiosk. Our food came out promptly but my salad had eggs which were frozen (visible ice around the yolk) and the cherry tomato was soft, while the avocado which looked a little brown/oxidized. All in all, it fell below the mark. There is only one person working the register and helping people with to go containers/food issues/pick ups, etc and they are clearly short staffed during lunch peak. If you need anything, you have to stand around for a while. They refused to give me a to go container for my club sandwich, stating that they could only provide a paper bag. It was evident that cashier simply wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible and had no desire to resolve my simple request. I can't recommend coming here during lunch rush.

Surprisingly, it was much less crowded, and finding a table was easy. Unfortunately, this location didn't live up to the level of cleanliness and hospitality I've come to expect from In-N-Out. The trash cans inside the dining room were overflowing, which really stood out to me. I've been to many In-N-Out locations throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County, and I've honestly never seen one this messy. The women's restroom was clean, but my brother-in-law said the men's restroom was in pretty rough shape. The food was good as always, but my cheeseburger was disappointing. The lettuce was so pale yellow it was almost white, and it looked far from fresh. I've never had an In-N-Out burger with lettuce like that before, so I ended up removing it. Maybe it was because we visited around 11:00 p.m., or maybe it's just this particular location, but the overall experience didn't meet the high standards I've always associated with In-N-Out. The food itself was still good, but the cleanliness, restroom conditions, and lack of attention to detail really missed the mark. Because of those issues, I'm giving this location 2 stars. I hope this was just an off night, because In-N-Out is usually known for much better hospitality and consistency.
